Chapter 42 - “They Touched What Was Mine”

There are rules in Alexander Reyes' world.

Unspoken.

Unbreakable.

You can come for his empire.

You can challenge his power.

You can even try to destroy him.

But there is one line you do not cross.

You do not touch his family.

🌅 A Normal Day… Almost

The morning started peacefully.

Too peacefully.

Isabella stood in the kitchen, laughing softly as their daughter ran around the marble island, her tiny feet echoing across the polished floors.

"Careful!" Isabella called, smiling.

"I'm fast, mommy!" the little girl giggled.

Alexander walked in, adjusting his watch, his eyes immediately softening at the sight.

His girls.

His world.

He crouched down, opening his arms.

"Come here, princess."

She ran straight into him.

"Daddy!"

He lifted her effortlessly, spinning her once before pressing a kiss to her cheek.

"You're getting faster," he said.

"She gets that from me," Isabella teased.

Alexander smirked. "No. She gets everything from me."

"Excuse me?" Isabella raised a brow.

Their daughter giggled, caught between them.

For a moment…

Everything was perfect.

🏫 The Decision

"Alexander… she needs to go to school."

The words came softly.

But they hit hard.

He froze slightly.

"No."

Isabella sighed.

"We've talked about this. She can't stay locked in forever."

"She's safe here."

"She needs a life."

Alexander turned, his jaw tight.

"And what happens when someone tries to take that life away?"

Silence.

Because they both knew—

That wasn't fear.

That was memory.A Mother's Argument

Isabella walked closer.

"She's not just your daughter, Alexander. She's a child. She deserves friends… laughter… normal things."

"And if something happens?" he asked quietly.

She reached for his hand.

"Then we face it. Together. Like we always do."

He looked at their daughter—

Playing.

Laughing.

Alive.

And slowly…

He nodded.

"Fine."

🏫 First Day at School

The school was elite.

Secure.

Protected.

But still—

Alexander doubled security.

Guards.

Cameras.

Surveillance.

Everything.

He crouched in front of his daughter.

"You stay close to your teacher. You don't go anywhere alone. You understand?"

She nodded seriously.

"Yes, daddy."

Isabella smiled softly.

"She'll be fine."

Alexander didn't reply.

Because something in his gut…

Didn't agree.

👁️ Someone Was Watching

Across the street.

A black car.

Tinted windows.

Inside—

A man watched.

Smiling.

"Target confirmed."

A voice came through the earpiece.

"Wait for the signal."
