Chapter 79 - War Turning Point

As distant relatives of the Senju Clan, the Uzumaki Clan possessed an exceptionally long lifespan, and their unique Chakra properties often manifested as talent in Sealing Technique. In this regard, no one in the entire Ninja World could compare to the Uzumaki Clan. However, this did not mean the Uzumaki Clan was incredibly powerful.

Due to the secrecy surrounding Secret Technique within Ninja families, Ninja Clans generally only had one lineage of inherited techniques. For instance, the Uchiha Clan focused primarily on Fire Release and possessed almost no other elemental techniques. The same was true for the Uzumaki Clan; while their Sealing Technique could rival any in the Ninja World, they lacked the necessary offensive capabilities. Sealing Technique was good, but it could not replace everything.

Another factor was their population. Because the Uzumaki Clan lived long lives and possessed exceptionally tenacious vitality, making them difficult to kill, they were not very urgent about procreation. Generally, after giving birth to one child, they would not have more unless the child died prematurely while the parents were still young. At the same time, because the Land of Whirlpools was a small nation, it naturally could not accommodate too many people. They did not enjoy conflict and would not expand their territory outward. For these various reasons, the Uzumaki Clan's demand for reproduction was not high.

Furthermore, not every member of the Uzumaki Clan wanted to be a Ninja. After all, they were the main body of a nation; nobles and civilians made up the majority of the Uzumaki Clan. It was for these reasons that the Uzumaki Clan could not become a Ninja Clan as renowned as the Senju or the Uchiha.

In this Ninja World War, because of their kinship with the Senju Clan, the Land of Whirlpools was naturally an ally of the Land of Fire. When the Kirigakure attempted a sneak attack, the Ninja they dispatched saved the situation. Although the strength of the Ninja from the Land of Whirlpools could not compare to the Kirigakure Ninja, their Sealing Technique and Barrier could play a significant role on the battlefield. In coordination with the army of the Land of Fire, they held back the Kirigakure.

As one of the Five Great Nations, the Kirigakure would naturally not lose to the Uzumaki Clan. It was simply because they did not understand the Uzumaki Clan's Sealing Technique that they fell into their trap and were unable to break through for a time. Before they could truly exert their strength, the Land of Lightning was forced to retreat due to unfavorable combat conditions. In order not to lose this ally, the Kirigakure had to head north, leaving only a small portion of their people to continue causing disturbances.

The pressure on the Land of Whirlpools was greatly reduced. They had no intention of truly relying solely on themselves; they had a clear understanding of their own strength and were not arrogant enough to think they could defeat a Great Nation on their own. In this current era, what single Ninja Clan could deal with a Ninja Village on its own?

However, the Land of Whirlpools had unknowingly committed such a mistake. They thought that establishing a Ninja Village would make them the same as other nations. In fact, the Ninja Villages of the Five Great Nations were collections of numerous Ninja Clans, while the Ninja Village of the Land of Whirlpools was just one clan. The two sides were completely on different levels.

If the Land of Whirlpools were just an ordinary country, that would be one thing, but it was a nation dominated by a single Ninja Clan, making it an anomaly in this era. The seeds of the future destruction of the Land of Whirlpools were perhaps sown the moment the Ninja Village was established.

The only thing to be thankful for was that this seed would have no chance to sprout. Of course, the Land of Whirlpools did not know this yet. At this moment, the Daimyo of the Land of Whirlpools had just received a message sent by Usumaki Mito, requesting that the Land of Whirlpools send some excellent Ninja to assist Konoha in winning this Ninja World War.

Although the Uzumaki Clan was unwilling to give up its status as the head of a nation to join Konoha, they were happy to help Konoha. Because of the close relationship between the two sides, the strength of Konoha was the only thing that could guarantee their own safety. Furthermore, Tobirama's alliance with the Land of Rice Fields had also caused the monarch and his subjects in the Land of Whirlpools to heave a sigh of relief, feeling that Konoha posed no threat.

Consequently, the Daimyo of the Land of Whirlpools ordered Uzushiogakure to dispatch a Ninja unit to Konoha. In any case, the pressure on the battlefield in the Land of Whirlpools was not great right now, and sending these people would not cause any issues.

The people in this Ninja unit were all excellent members of the Uzumaki Clan; everyone was a pure-blooded descendant of the Uzumaki, with bright red hair. This hair color represented the powerful Chakra of the Uzumaki Clan.

With the cooperation of the Land of Fire's army along the way, the Uzumaki Clan's Ninja unit arrived at Konoha and was taken to meet Usumaki Mito. They had never met Usumaki Mito before, but they had all heard of her name. People like Usumaki Mito, who were born with extraordinary Chakra, were very rare.

In these years, not a single person with Chakra as powerful as Usumaki Mito's had appeared in the Uzumaki Clan. In the next twenty years, only one person would appear, and that person's name was Uzumaki Kushina.

"Nice to meet you, Lady Mito. My name is Uzumaki Tetsu. If there is anything that needs help, please feel free to command us." The young man leading this Ninja unit bowed to Usumaki Mito.

"Tetsu... I know you. You are also very outstanding among the younger generation." Usumaki Mito smiled gently. Although she was in Konoha, she had never stopped communicating with the Uzumaki Clan. Moreover, her daughter had married into the Land of Whirlpools, so she basically knew everyone in the Uzumaki Clan.

"You are too kind," Uzumaki Tetsu said.

"Regarding your adventurous journey here, I thank you on behalf of the Konoha Ninja," Usumaki Mito said. "The task you are responsible for is actually very simple: creating Barrier for the camp and using Sealing Technique to restrict the enemy's movements according to strategic needs. You do not need to go to the front lines; your role is mainly rear support."

Uzumaki Tetsu nodded. He knew that this was all they could do. After all, the Uzumaki Clan was not very good at frontal combat; compared to those Ninja who specialized in killing, the people of the Uzumaki Clan appeared relatively gentle.

"Because we have multiple battlefields, you will need to separate and go to each camp. You can decide for yourselves; I am not very clear about your specific abilities, but—" Usumaki Mito pointed to Fūmori Masaki, who had come to greet them with her, "you must choose the three most outstanding people to go with him to the most dangerous battlefield."

"The most dangerous battlefield?" Uzumaki Tetsu glanced at Fūmori Masaki, and the two exchanged greetings.

"Yes." Usumaki Mito nodded. In fact, she had only learned of this matter recently. Tobirama had sent a message ordering Fūmori Masaki to immediately lead his troops back, stating that this would be a crucial battle.

The reason was stated in the letter: the First Raikage had died from severe injuries after multiple battles. According to his orders before his death, his right-hand man, Da, succeeded as the Second Raikage. Tobirama had long since learned about this person from prisoners and knew that he was a calm and intelligent man who was not optimistic about the prospects of this war. Furthermore, his disciple, A, was a prisoner in Konoha and already had the intention of seeking peace.

Tobirama learned that the pro-war faction within Kumogakure was powerful, to the extent that even the Raikage could not make decisions unilaterally. Therefore, he intended to strike a heavy blow against the pro-war faction, allowing the Second Raikage, who was part of the pro-peace faction, to gain the upper hand, thereby ending the war between Konoha and Kumogakure. He believed that both sides would accept this result.

Therefore, Tobirama asked Fūmori Masaki to return immediately; the upcoming war required the power of this Wind Release Ninja. After Usumaki Mito learned that this war would determine whether the Kumogakure front could be ended, she decided to provide full assistance.

"I understand." Uzumaki Tetsu immediately selected two people from the unit, one male and one female, and had them stand by his side. Clearly, the three of them were the most outstanding. Then, Uzumaki Tetsu introduced the two: the woman was named Uzumaki Jun, and the man was named Uzumaki Takuya. The two bowed to Usumaki Mito.

"Good. Please take a short rest, then set off for your destination. You can rest properly after you arrive there," Usumaki Mito said apologetically.

"The war is urgent; we understand," Uzumaki Tetsu said, expressing his understanding.
