Chapter 81 - Inside The Camp.

Fūmori Masaki's first priority was to get a grasp of the situation in the camp.

He had been away from the front lines for too long.

In Konohagakure, he could only receive intelligence on the final results; the specific tactical measures on the ground were not sent back to the Village, and those staying in the Village had no need for such information.

Just as he and Satomi stepped out, they saw a Konoha Ninja walking toward them, followed by three people.

They were none other than Uzumaki Tetsu and his group.

The Konoha Ninja said, "Lord Fūmori, they said they know you and have something to discuss, so I brought them over. What do you think...?"

"Yes, I know them," Fūmori Masaki nodded at the Konoha Ninja and said, "Thank you for your hard work."

The Konoha Ninja quickly replied, "It's nothing," glanced up at the young man who enjoyed fame in the camp, said nothing more, and took his leave.

"We are very sorry. We don't know the situation here very well, so we had to come and ask. We hope we aren't troubling Lord Fūmori?" Uzumaki Tetsu said apologetically.

The Ninja ranking system established by Konohagakure had spread to other Villages, and the Uzumaki Clan, as distant relatives, had been among the first to receive it.

The hierarchy among Ninjas was very strict.

Fūmori Masaki was already a Jonin, so even though Uzumaki Tetsu was about the same age as Fūmori Masaki, he still addressed him as "Lord".

"It's fine. We happen to be heading there anyway, so let's go together," Fūmori Masaki smiled.

Fortunately, although the previous codes and defensive measures had all been updated, the basic layout hadn't changed much.

Fūmori Masaki took the three members of the Uzumaki Clan through the entire camp, helping them understand the camp's defense methods, rest areas, medical facilities, and so on.

Of course, Fūmori Masaki needed to familiarize himself with them as well.

During his absence, due to the escalation of the war, the number of wounded had further increased.

Following the suggestions Fūmori Masaki had proposed in the past, the Medical Ninja had collected more data and summarized a set of medical protocols and methods for using medicinal herbs.

By this time, Medical Ninjutsu was already starting to take shape.

With the increasingly rigorous system of Medical Ninjutsu, the mortality rate of Konoha Ninja had dropped significantly, and the wounded could recover their combat capabilities faster.

Medical Ninja, who had begun to shine in the latter stages of the Second Ninja World War, had taken the stage of war early.

At this moment, only Konohagakure was enjoying the benefits brought by the advanced medical system; other Ninja Villages had not yet focused on medical systems, though their ally, the Land of Earth, had faintly sensed something.

Now, the three members of the Uzumaki Clan saw the medical system of Konohagakure with their own eyes and were shocked.

Was this what a Ninja Village of a major power should look like?

Looking at the shocked and envious expressions of Uzumaki Tetsu and the others, Fūmori Masaki knew that they would certainly tell their clansmen in the Land of Whirlpools about what they saw here.

He was not afraid of leaking information.

After all, without those medical data, establishing a medical system just by copying the appearance would be useless.

What was important was letting the members of the Uzumaki Clan know what Konohagakure was like.

The future destruction of the Land of Whirlpools was a great pity.

Fūmori Masaki wanted to change this outcome.

The problem was that the current Land of Whirlpools pursued independence and did not want to submit to other Ninja Villages.

This kind of thinking was normal, but as a small nation that also possessed the bloodline of sages, it would not be able to adapt to the future era.

Fūmori Masaki's status was not yet high enough to directly influence the Land of Whirlpools, and it was still wartime.

At the very least, giving the Uzumaki Clan a good impression now would, to a certain extent, reduce the resistance when the Uzumaki Clan migrated to Konohagakure in the future.

By now, they had walked through the entire camp.

Fūmori Masaki had memorized all the new camp measures, though he did not see the situation of the POW camp.

To prevent rescue attempts, the POW camp had started moving backward after he left, handing it over to the Konoha Ninja in the rear to manage.

Eventually, they would likely be sent directly into Konohagakure to ensure they could not be rescued—if people could be rescued from a Ninja Village, then the war would essentially be considered a failure.

As for the prisoners, their own Chakra was sealed, and without the intervention of external Chakra, how could a group of people without Chakra escape?

"Do you all understand?" Fūmori Masaki asked.

Uzumaki Tetsu was still surprised by the advanced system of Konohagakure.

Upon hearing the question, he quickly came back to his senses and said, "Yes, I have remembered it. Jun, Takuya, how about you?"

Uzumaki Jun and Uzumaki Takuya nodded repeatedly, indicating that they had also remembered.

Fūmori Masaki said, "Good, make sure not to forget. Everyone's nerves are a bit tense during wartime. If you accidentally make a mistake, you might be mistaken for enemy spies in disguise."

As a Ninja, Uzumaki Tetsu naturally knew some of the methods used by Ninjas.

However, the Land of Whirlpools was a place that disliked conflict.

Even after establishing a Ninja Village, they did not have much experience with war.

The battle against the Kirigakure Ninja was only because their main force had left quickly.

Otherwise, even if the Land of Whirlpools had the same national strength as the Land of Water, they would not have been able to win against those battle-hardened Kirigakure Ninja.

Uzumaki Tetsu followed Fūmori Masaki through the entire camp and had gained an understanding of the camp's defensive measures.

He understood what Fūmori Masaki meant—even Konoha Ninja themselves had to strictly follow the regulations, let alone outsiders like them.

After all, no matter how close the relationship was, the Land of Whirlpools was the Land of Whirlpools, and Konohagakure was Konohagakure.

Fūmori Masaki escorted the three to their resting place and told them to get some good rest.

There would likely be something for them to help with soon, so getting enough rest was most important.

"Let's go back," Fūmori Masaki said to Satomi.

He had figured everything out, and next, he had to write some reports and the like.

While the status of a Jonin was high, the responsibilities were also very important, and the things he was responsible for were endless.

That evening, Fūmori Masaki sat in his own tent, looking at the pile of reports he had to reconnect with because of his absence.

He let out a deep sigh.

Fine, let's get to work.

Fūmori Masaki felt that he couldn't just fail to resolve these reports.

The system established by Tobirama was centralized.

As the Hokage, he included all affairs of the Village, large and small, which inevitably increased the burden on the Hokage, making him busy to death dealing with official business every day.

Although the subsequent setting problems in the Naruto manga were serious, the fact that Uzumaki Naruto was worked to death was quite realistic.

Uzumaki Naruto was not the type of person with a sharp mind who was good at handling affairs.

Letting him be responsible for so much official business, especially in that unrealistic modernized background, even with the assistance of the strategist Shikamaru, it would definitely end up like that.

Fūmori Masaki thought that Tobirama definitely hadn't considered whether subsequent Hokage could accept such a system.

Just like the Ming Dynasty ancestors in another world, he himself could withstand such high-intensity work, but his successors might not be able to.

Fūmori Masaki himself had no problem; his energy had always been very good.

He should be able to be like Tobirama.

After processing all these reports, he only felt his body was a bit stiff.

After Fūmori Masaki submitted the reports, he had to participate in today's combat meeting.

He didn't have to wait for orders from above like before; instead, he could participate in decision-making himself.

Arriving at the tent, he saw that half of the Jonin he knew were gone, replaced by young faces.

This showed that while the situation in Konohagakure seemed great, it had been achieved at the cost of massive sacrifices.

In the combat meeting, Tobirama first spoke about the current war situation and the next combat objective: to force Kumogakure to give up the war.

Therefore, they had to win a major battle, and Tobirama set the target on the two Kumogakure war maniacs, Kinkaku and Ginkaku.

Hearing the names of these two people, Fūmori Masaki suddenly had a premonition.

As he continued to listen, sure enough, Tobirama's gaze turned toward him.

"Masaki, I hope you can lead a team to lure Kinkaku and Ginkaku, bring them into the pre-designed area, and have the people from the Uzumaki Clan cast a sealing Barrier to surround Kinkaku, Ginkaku, and their subordinates. Then we can carry out a focused strike. Do you think you are up to the task?"

Fūmori Masaki immediately understood Tobirama's thinking.

He had severed one of Ginkaku's arms that day, so Ginkaku naturally hated him to the bone, and Kinkaku, who deeply loved his brother, would also regard him as a mortal enemy.

Once he appeared on the battlefield, he wouldn't need to specifically lure them; Kinkaku and Ginkaku would come looking for him on their own.

He didn't need to worry about whether they would take the bait; he only needed to worry about whether his own safety could be guaranteed.

"No problem," Fūmori Masaki said without hesitation.

Of course he wouldn't be afraid, and he wouldn't be allowed to retreat at this time.

For his future goals, this was just a small obstacle.
