Chapter 9 - Lasgun STC

Since the gameboard now occupied a large portion of his living room, as a result, Caleb had to go to the kitchen to make a cup of coffe.

The original table had to be moved elsewhere, now, this massive gameboard served as both his coffe table and his only window into the Warhammer world.

Even though there was still an hour before the next stage of deployment, Caleb couldn't help but worry about the upcoming battle when the enemy warlord-class titan appeared on the map.

Currently, the strength of his defenders was far too weak against a Titan.

Although they could put up a bit of a fight by relying on fixed defensive facilities, the enemy didn't just have a single Titan.

Judging by the disturbances at the Gate of the Red Angel, units of the same class might even appear later!

2000 points to fight a Titan was simply too little, even with the aid of an Astartes Legion, this force was insufficient.

The good news was that there were indeed weapons in the defensive facilities that could threaten a Titan, the bad news was that the enemy World Eaters soldiers had noticed this as well.

They were raiding the mortals inside the defensive facilities through various means like air-drops.

And Lion had already dispatched his Terminators to guard these vital facilities.

For a time, near the orbital defense facilities, corpses from both sides were everywhere.

mortals and World Eaters alike, both sides had long since seen red around the orbital defense facilities.

Since Lion had already observed the enemy combat units in advance, he had long since issued orders to completely level the orbital defense facilities.

As the saying goes, "leveling the flak guns leads to a court-martial," but by leveling orbital defense facilities capable of hitting starships, destroying a Titan would be no problem at all.

However, the orbital defense facilities were originally designed to hit space warships, therefore, they had a minimum engagement range setting.

Once the enemy Titan got too close to the hive city, the orbital defense facilities would be unable to function.

And the reason so many World Eaters were suddenly raiding the orbital defense nodes was to stall for time until the Titan closed in.

"Damn, playing this trick on me?"

"Curse these traitors, I must go out personally and kill them all!"

Stepping in steel boots, Lion raised the Aegis in his hand and walked toward the defensive line.

The Terminator knight captain behind him wanted to follow, but found that in just a few steps, his own Primarch seemed to be shrinking the earth to an inch, moving hundreds of meters with a single stride!

"Quick, keep up!"

Although Terminator armor has a teleportation function, this thing's teleportation is very unreliable.

It's generally not used unless absolutely necessary, because sometimes, due to imprecise coordinates or other reasons, you might get stuck in the ground, or even only have half your body teleported.

For this reason, the teleportation device is only used at the most critical moments of a landing operation; normally, it's only used once or twice in a campaign to ensure the equipment doesn't fail.

Yet now, to keep up with Lion's pace, many Terminators had no choice but to use this equipment.

The situation at the positions was too dire; without the strikes from the orbital defense facilities, it would be almost impossible to counter the enemy Titan.

"What a mess, it's turned into a complete brawl again!"

"I feel like my combat units are a bit weak; should I order some other pieces to increase the variety of my collection?"

Caleb had learned his lesson this time, the types of pieces in his hands were still too few.

Although he had borrowed troops from other hobbyists, he still felt stretched thin when facing an offensive force of the Titan's caliber.

Looking at the endless Chaos army, Caleb was thinking about how to continue helping himself win this game through external forces.

However, at this moment, Lion did not choose to rush to the defensive line, the moment his sons teleported to the defensive positions, he changed direction and dashed straight toward the Titan!

"What? Going to solo a Titan? Truly acting like Sanguinius, this behavior is really bold!"

Whether it was because Lion was hissing, the current Lion actually chose to raid the Titan single-handedly.

This Titan was slowly advancing toward the hive city world, and Lion's small figure was directly ignored by the Titan.

"Damn, you dare to ignore me!? I'll show you what Lion's Wrath looks like!"

"Quick, stop her!"

"Twist her head off, blood for the Blood God!"

In that instant, the surrounding World Eaters and members of the Dark Adeptus Mechanicus recognized this special young woman.

This person's physical stats were simply too unscientific; he was likely blessed by the Corpse Emperor.

During this long battle, many traitors had actually seen a Living Saint.

Although these traitors were only a minority in the Brass Citadel, such God-touched individuals were treated by the traitors as proof of the God-Emperor's ambition.

In their eyes, the Emperor was nothing more than a fallen one who wanted to sacrifice humanity to the dark gods.

In their eyes, the Emperor would even destroy everything they had.

"Get the hell away from me!"

When Lion said this, Caleb, at the top of the gameboard , had already started laughing.

As expected, has the big tough guy already started accepting the fact that she's a young woman?

It looks like it!

Tzeentch is just a chosen of the gods under me; for true abstraction, you have to look at the players!

At this moment, Caleb turned his gaze to a very abstract piece, it was a special piece where the wings of a Lord of Change had been removed and sewn onto a Khorne Daemon.

Because two figures had broken before, Caleb thought of this remedy.

He wondered if Tzeentch and Khorne would fall into some kind of self-doubt if they saw it.

Did a Lord of Change have an affair, or did a Khorne Daemon cheat?

Braving the hail of bullets, Lion mowed down enemies like grass, and by the time he rushed under the Titan...

The Chaos Titan noticed the small and exquisite young woman.

So, it immediately wanted to use its giant foot to crush her along with the surrounding soldiers.

However, for some reason, just as the giant foot was about to stomp down, grass suddenly grew on the forehead of the warlord-class titan.

"The Wanderer!"

Lion suddenly activated The Wanderer and ran directly onto the head of the warlord-class titan.

Then, using the sharp sword in his hand, he directly split open the connection equipment between the head cockpit and the shoulder blades.

The Chaos cultists guarding the cockpit immediately launched an attack on her, but their flesh had already fused with the walls here.

Even if they wanted to attack Lion , they couldn't react flexibly due to the constraints of various flesh growths.

"Truly disgusting!"

"Even after becoming like this, you still want to betray?"

"It would put me more at ease if you all just died completely!"

As if the great God-Emperor felt his child's obsession, the holy sword in Lion El''Jonson's hand also erupted with a dazzling light.

Blazing flames fell, and the Chaos Daemons inside the entire cockpit instantly fell into a chorus of wailing.

Lion: Dad, give me a grenade!

His own Lion had spoken, so Caleb naturally had to give it.

Thus, he found an Armor-piercing Cluster Grenade from that box of model parts.

This grenade was a bit big; he wondered if it could be deployed onto the tabletop!

Caleb pointed at the grenade in his hand and said at the top of the gameboard:

"You are a cluster grenade that has been bathed by the God-Emperor's bath water for forty-nine days. Your power is incredible; just one can blow up an entire Titan!"

Equipped your piece Lion El''Jonson with an Enhanced Cluster Grenade. This grenade has been soaked in the bath of the Golden Throne for 7749 days, its power is incredibly amazing, it is a godly grenade that can instantly blow up any daemon!

"Boom!"

The giant Titan crashed down, and the profane runes were incinerated along with the flames.

The dazzling golden light blinded the eyes of the surrounding daemons, almost all the Bloodletters and other Chaos Daemons were so scorched they covered their eyes.

They wailed in pain and retreated; even though Khorne gave them courage, in the face of this destructive power, they still dared not move forward.

Lion: Truly amazing, I remember I wasn't this powerful before! It seems I'm not what I used to be. Does my current combat power count as the strongest among the Primarchs?

This inner thought of Lion was amplified by the gameboard, clearly, the gameboard was reminding him that Lion was talking to him.

It's hard to imagine that Lion's inner world was like this; as expected of Father-Complex Emporyum, most of the Warhammer Primarchs have daddy issues.

Caleb: Hmm, very good. It would be even better if you could solo an Emperor-class Titan like Sanguinius!

Lion: Oh, that!

Lion paused, and then a strange sense of competitiveness spontaneously arose.

He indeed respected Sanguinius very much, and even felt in his heart that he owed him.

But before that, he really didn't know Sanguinius had soloed an Emperor-class Titan!

Regarding "Father's" description, Lion rarely didn't argue back.

Instead, his face carried guilt, as if he had recalled something very unpleasant.

Caleb: Let's talk after the war. Maybe if there's a chance, I can bring Sanguinius back!

Caleb chose not to continue the conversation, but instead maintained a sense of mystery and disconnected from Lion.

Come to think of it, he really didn't have a Sanguinius piece on hand, but if he went to custom-order or buy one now, it might take some time!

"Right, it doesn't have to be a real piece; I can use a Designate!"

Caleb smiled knowingly again. Since Lion could use a gender-swapped piece, then Sanguinius...

"If I Designate a blonde big sister angel with wings and D cups as Sanguinius, that should be fine too, right?"

"My good bro Hashida seems to have relevant experience. Wouldn't it be more convenient to ask him to custom-make it?"

Looking at the slightly lonely Lion on the gameboard, Caleb decided, he must gender-swap all 'her' good brothers to keep her company.

How awkward would it be if there was only a Lion daughter later, maybe Lion wouldn't dare see her brothers because of her physique.

Rather than letting Lion have a nervous breakdown keeping secrets every day, it would be better to give her an angel sister for company.

This way, in the Second Imperium, the relationship between the sisters would be even better.

"Hehehe!" At this moment, Caleb's smile was even more devious than Tzeentch's, because a bunch of things even Tzeentch wouldn't do that would make Slaneesh proud had already surfaced in his mind.

With Lion returning to the camp, this grand siege battle was considered over.

After holding the defensive lines and positions, the bombardment capability of the orbital defense facilities was still very fierce.

All key targets on the outer defensive lines were given special attention, relying on the indirect fire of the Red Cannon, any large unit that dared to show its head would be instantly blown through and sent to the underground ruins.

"Lord Lion!"

"You are truly amazing; this is a great victory!"

"You actually personally dismantled a Titan!"

"This is something we Battle-Brothers wouldn't even dare to imagine!"

"It's nothing!" Lion turned her head away, her face full of worry.

If Sanguinius really was resurrected one day, how would he face her former good brother?

Would he have to let Sanguinius call her "sister"?

[Caleb: What? Want me to send you a sister?]

"Cough, cough, cough!"

Lion couldn't help but pat her forehead; he felt her thoughts were far too profane.

Sanguinius was so good to her; what on earth was he thinking?

If Sanguinius found out about this, wouldn't he hate her to death!

[Lion: Cough, cough, it's not like it's impossible!]

Lion teased with slightly reddened cheeks.

At this moment, he really was like a tsundere little cat.

"Phew!" Lion calmed her emotions and faced her children with a serious expression.

"Father told me that His Majesty Sanguinius once personally dismantled an Emperor-class Titan!"

"My achievements are still far inferior to his. Wait until one day, after I've dismantled an Emperor-class Titan, then we can celebrate such things!"

"Yes, Lord Lion!"

The knight captain before her had no complaints; his body was covered in grime and blood.

The blood of heretics had stained his body, turning his dark green livery into scarlet.

Fortunately, since the Terminator squad fought excellently, there were no losses in this emergency defensive battle.

Only one unlucky dude accidentally teleported his body into two halves during the teleportation.

And this figure had already appeared in Caleb's hand, turning back into a piece in Caleb's hand.

"So pieces from a defeat return to my hand?"

"Wait, this has turned into two halves; how the hell am I supposed to put it back together?"

Caleb had not expected that the damage to the piece would be synchronized to the piece in his hand.

This piece had already split in two; if he gave it back to Hashida, he would be furious!

"F*ck, I have to glue it back quickly! Shit, that won't work either! Better buy a new piece to return to him!"

Caleb remembered that Hashida had said if he damaged his pieces, he'd have to pay triple!

Although he could tell from the tone it was a joke, that nerd really cherished his pieces.

Caleb immediately placed an order online, fortunately, this kind of piece could still be bought online; it wasn't a very rare one.

"Sigh..."

"I feel like I don't have enough money on hand! Although I still have some surplus savings, I'm not comfortable spending like this! And my credit score is already trash!"

Since many companies were laying off people recently, Caleb had also been laid off a while ago, leaving with 3 month severance package.

There was no choice, if he stayed, there would be salary adjustments and a whole bunch of trouble.

[Successfully held for 5 days. Reward obtained: Lasgun STC Construction Template. This template is small in scale and can only produce small weapons.]

"It's here!"

Caleb was very excited because he finally had what he wanted!

He thought the STC Construction Template should be something big, but when it was actually released, he found that this STC Construction Template was only equivalent to a refrigerator?

That's right, a printer the size of a refrigerator.

He couldn't understand its internal equipment or operating logic at all.

[Printing and constructing Lasgun. Construction time: 5 minutes.]

"Huh?"

Looking at the manufactured laser gun that popped into his hand.

Caleb was dumbfounded.

"Okay, now all I'm missing is a green helmet and Flak Armor, and I'll be a qualified Astra Militarum."

"Then again, is it illegal for ordinary citizens to possess laser weapons?"
