Chapter 44 - Mom, Did We Turn to Chaos?

When the Dark Angels saw the Fallen Angels bathing a blue Great Cleanser, their brains completely shut down.

The Primarch stood right beside them, her bright, piercing gaze fixed intently on the Nurgle beast currently being forged.

"Is the Annihilation Barge ready?"

"By the way, can you tell me why the current Dark Angels Legion can't even scrape together an Inner Wing capable of operating an Annihilation Barge?"

"Have you all been doing that poorly over the last ten thousand years?"

"How have the six wings of the angels become so incomplete? What have you been doing!"

Lion stood with hands on hips, looking at her current pride with some indignation.

That slightly angry expression completely baffled all the Inner Circle brothers.

Especially that attitude of being disappointed at their lack of success, which hit the current Loyalist Faction of the Dark Angels hard.

Hearing the Primarch speak, Azrael, Asmodai, and the others felt extremely ashamed.

Especially when seeing the current Fallen Angels still retaining some of their former skills; the feeling became even more bizarre.

Watching those Techmarines welding armor onto the Great Cleanser, after a long silence, Azrael and the others finally asked that critical question.

"Um, Lord Primarch, before answering that question, can you tell us first: have we turned to Chaos?"

"Even Nurgle's Greater Daemon is listening to you now!"

"In your current state, have you ascended to become a Daemon Primarch?"

When Azrael said this, he had already prepared for the worst.

Beside him, Asmodai also fell silent.

If the Primarch had betrayed them, whether they chose the Loyalist Faction or the traitor faction, for the Imperium of Man, it would mean the entire Legion was effectively gone.

If they were lucky, they might be able to attach themselves to other Legions; if they were unlucky, they would have already been wiped out.

"Huh?" Lion was stunned, a look of clear stupidity in her eyes.

But immediately, a flash of clarity crossed her eyes.

She wanted to figure out now whether these children were loyal to her or the Imperium of Man.

It wasn't that she wanted to rebel, but that she wanted to figure out if these guys would turn into Fallen Angels in the future.

"Then what is your choice?"

That light sentence immediately broke the Inner Circle high command into a cold sweat.

Oh my goodness, Mom Primarch just got back and already dropped a shocking secret.

If this was a rebellion, would it count as a secret rebellion or an open one?

By the way, does the Emperor know about this?

At this moment, the Emperor, who was idling, was just enjoying the show, seeing as the centaur bracelet was already on his daughter's wrist.

If she really dared to rebel, he would immediately slap her in the face with a psychic backhand.

In the current situation, where other Primarchs had rebelled, Lion couldn't possibly rebel.

Because even if Lion really rebelled, it would just mean another seat for the Legion of the Damned.

[Emperor: Ah, yes, yes, yes!]

[Your Lion has already defected!]

[Come and attack Terra quickly, come and take your place on the Golden Throne.]

Custodes:?

At this moment, the Custodes guarding the Emperor heard some ethereal voices.

The Golden Corn's signal was bad; they could barely hear four words clearly.

[Lion, defected...]

Once the Emperor's ethereal voice came out, the Captain-General of the Custodes was almost scared to tears.

What the hell is going on? It's just one disaster after another.

What does it mean that Lion defected? Doesn't that mean the First Legion defected in its entirety?

As the saying goes, one must be careful about privacy when making calls.

It seems that neither Magnus nor the Emperor cares much about this.

Azrael immediately knelt on one knee, declaring in an extremely impassioned tone: "We follow the Primarch's orders!"

"If you really want to do this, our First Legion will pledge our lives to your service!"

"Ahem, ahem, ahem!"

"Just kidding!"

"Even if Guilliman defects 1,000 times, I would never defect!"

"Even if I were to be slapped, I think he is more likely to get slapped than I am."

"I am my father's loyal sword."

"Even if the Four Chaos Gods grabbed me to make me defect, I wouldn't have the right!"

"My father is really watching from above!"

"I can even occasionally hear my father murmuring in my ear!"

Another strange remark that made Azrael break into a cold sweat.

At this point, Supreme Grand Master Azrael no longer understood what his Primarch was trying to do.

Could it be that the Primarch was holding a grudge because he blew up Caliban?

But that doesn't make sense, he only blew it up because he followed the Primarch's orders!

Azrael remained kneeling, an attitude that aroused the suspicion of the group of Astartes nearby.

After all, the fact that Lion had become a woman hadn't been made public yet.

Many Dark Angels who received inexplicable orders didn't know what was going on.

"Alright, alright, get up!"

"You are very loyal, child!"

"But you must remember one thing: I will never betray my father!"

"If one day I really tell you to betray the Imperium of Man, the first thing you should do is arrest me, and take a good look to see if I've been corrupted by Chaos!"

Lion helped Azrael up.

Her eyes revealed a kind of tenderness, though in the eyes of others, it was just a gentle expression.

"Sob..."

Azrael was so moved he almost cried; the current Mother Lion really pampered them too much.

However, this display aroused the disgust of Zabriel nearby.

[Zabriel: You shameful thing, don't think that just because you're wearing a helmet, I can't tell that you're crying like a big baby!]

Zabriel waved his hand in disgust, his gaze towards Azrael quite contemptuous.

Our batch of Fallen Angels has drunk Mom's hand-brewed, tea!

These Loyalists are far inferior to them; they haven't even seen the bunny woman version of Mom Primarch. What kind of Inner Circle members are they?

Of course, there were still people doing real work.

Asmodai on the side silently wrote this down.

Even writing it into the Inner Circle's decrees.

[Inner Circle Decree: Once the Primarch betrays the Emperor, please arrest the Primarch immediately and interrogate them thoroughly!]

[The Primarch cannot betray the Emperor; a Primarch who betrays the Emperor must have been corrupted by Chaos!]

Caleb: Heh~

At this moment, Caleb was just silently watching the show.

How to put it, the Little Lion cub was becoming more and more comical.

"For Lion, our loyalty to the Primarch is from beginning to end!"

"As long as Lord Lion tells us to go east, we will never go west!"

"As long as Lord Lion remains loyal to the Imperium of Man, we will never abandon our loyalty!"

"You all!" Lion was helpless and sighed.

What does it mean that if I'm loyal to the Imperium of Man, you'll continue to be loyal? If I defected, would you all defect too?

Well, when Lion heard this, to be honest, she was quite happy inside.

After all, her father was indeed a bit abstract right now.

"No wonder my father didn't use you guys right away; with this kind of attitude, it just won't do!"

"Forget it, let's talk about it later. I've chatted with my father, and I already have a clear goal for the First Legion!"

The brave Little Lion looked up at the huge mountain of meat.

Although the rotting smell emanating from it was still staggering, it was acceptable after being cleaned once.

"Kuves!"

"Tell me who you serve!"

As soon as Lion finished speaking, not long after, this enhanced version of the Great Cleanser suddenly roared.

"For Ultramar! For Macragge!"

"I am the greatest Ultramarine, well, at least I used to be!"

"So that's how it is!"

Azrael breathed a sigh of relief; it was good that it wasn't a betrayal.

He and Asmodai looked at each other, both revealing expressions of relief.

As for why there was an Ultramarines version of the Great Cleanser here, Supreme Grand Master Azrael could only say.

"What an ambitious Guilliman!"

The informed Dark Angels could only treat this Great Cleanser as a secret of the Ultramarines.

Under the gaze of the Primarch, they swore to keep this a secret.

Thus, the Inner Circle added another secret.

However, this secret was not the truth; the real secret was only known to the inner circle of the Inner Circle.

Watching the Chaplain writing another secret in the Inner Circle, Caleb really wanted to complain; these Inner Circle secrets were like onion rings.

Every layer could make people laugh or cry; it was almost becoming an Inner Circle joke.

Soon, as several huge drop pods fell from the sky.

Lion also dispatched her Annihilation Barge to resist. To ensure these machines could exert their full power,

Caleb even used his own Mind Warp.

[Gameboard Skill: Mind Warp]

[Currently warping units: Seven Annihilation Barges!]

[Caleb: You are noble citizens of the Imperium of Man!]

[The God-Emperor has granted you human rights that place you above other Iron Men!]

[You are supreme Iron Men nobility! Quickly destroy those mindless machines, and the Holy Omnissiah will bless you!]

In just a few words, several of the Iron Men Annihilation Barges suddenly radiated golden light.

Wild spirits were purged from them, replaced by the loyal souls of human ancestors injected into their bodies.

The Inner Wing had originally been preparing to apply machine oil for maintenance on these Iron Men.

Suddenly, the seven Annihilation Barges stood up and shouted, "Praise the Emperor! Praise the Omnissiah!"

[The Emperor:???]

"Lord Lion, something's wrong! The Annihilation Barges are out of control!"

"They've charged out on their own, broadcasting praises to the Emperor and readings from the Lectitio Divinitatus!"

"Ah?" The Little Lion found it increasingly difficult to understand the current battle.

He felt like his 'father' was quite fierce now; a casual blessing could send the Chaos Gods running for their lives.

These Annihilation Barges now radiating golden light were clearly his father's blessing.

In the past, these Annihilation Barges required careful control by the Techmarines of the Inner Wing. Now? They charged straight out, fighting even better than the enemy!

"Count me in! For Ultramar!"

The daemon Kuves, equipped with new weapons, also happily charged out!

The bizarre weapon in his hand sprayed thick sludge onto enemy units.

Once this sludge touched an enemy unit, even metal would be dissolved into a strange biomass solution.

This stuff was even more effective than volkite or melta weapons, because it directly prevented any further Chaos corruption.

The Techmarine who had installed the weapon system had already been dragged away to be 'blessed' severely.

It was fortunate that Lion was nearby; otherwise, that fellow wouldn't have kept his life.

The battlefield turned into a bizarre melee as countless daemon engines clashed with the daemon engines on Lion's side.

For a short time, the combat power of both sides was actually equal. This series of ridiculous maneuvers left Vashtorr completely dazed.

"Is, is this right?"

Vashtorr had many thoughts; he even wondered if he had been backstabbed by the other Four Chaos Gods.

The units he summoned were enemy units, and the reinforcements he called in were like clay chickens and pottery dogs before this batch of daemon engines.

Some daemons whose debts weren't too severe refused to come once they heard they were fighting The Cursed One.

A few IDs even showed as 'account deleted' when he tried to look them up!

This was terrifying; it meant those daemons no longer existed in the Warp.

The bad debt rate on Khorne's side was the highest, and it wasn't intentional defaulting—it was because the daemons were dead, so the debt vanished!

Clearly, Vashtorr, who was already a joke in Warhammer, had no idea what was happening in the Warp.

Which daemon would dare work for Vashtorr now?

To daemons, working for Vashtorr was like a summer job, doing some part-time work here to please the Chaos Gods was fine.

But if the job cost them their lives, then forget it.

After all, many daemons had now seen how powerful the God-Emperor was when he stood up.

"Dammit!"

Vashtorr also realized that aside from the daemons he had long since enslaved, he couldn't find any other reinforcements!

These daemons were too unstable; it seemed he would need to find a partner in the future.

Now, Vashtorr had entered a state where he had no troops to use.

He could only watch as these 'cats' hissed on his planet, unable to do anything about them.

The master of malicious arts, Shiwage Banxian, could only pin his hopes on those eighteen Annihilation Barges.

However, those eighteen invincible machines soon disappointed him greatly.

"Doraemon, get the anywhere door out, get ready to follow!"

"Oh, okay!"

Doraemon pulled out the anywhere door, which was nearly squeezed into a circle.

After this battle, he'd probably have to repair his gadgets again.

Lion didn't hesitate; with a use of The Wanderer, he jumped directly onto the top of an Annihilation Barge.

Before the Annihilation Barge could react, a large group of Astartes threw melta grenades directly through the door!

"Wait, Zabriel, won't we hit the Primarch like this?"

"This is a lot of firepower. If we injure the Primarch, we'll be true sinners!"

Azrael clearly still had doubts.

However, those doubts were quickly drowned out by a mocking tone.

"Whoa, whoa, weren't you guys just calling me a Fallen Angel?"

"What? So little faith in our Primarch?"

"You really haven't seen how well our Primarch can fight these days!"

Zabriel, who had experienced many 'lashes of love,' didn't believe the melta weapons in their hands could actually hurt the Primarch.

With the Primarch's reaction speed, he could even teleport twice.

The grenades fell slower than he could teleport!

A large number of melta grenades were thrown out, accurately hitting the area around the enemy Annihilation Barge through the anywhere door.

This machine from the human Golden Age was not without its own defenses.

Its active defense system actually detonated most of the melta bombs!

"It's over!"

Lion shattered the Iron Men's sensors with a single slash.

The active defense facilities of this ancient machine were all paralyzed.

If he didn't understand this kind of machine well enough, he would never have found its weakness.

Not only that, even if the weakness was hit, the enemy could repair it using internal liquid nanometals.

Because of this, Lion had to paralyze it first and then let his children pour on the damage.

"Time to go!"

Looking at the massive amount of explosives on the ground, Lion simply took a light step and traveled back into the forest.

Then, a series of violent explosions echoed behind him.

In just a moment, Lion had taken down an Annihilation Barge with his wise tactics.

"Only seventeen left!"

"Is it really that simple?"

Azrael felt his Primarch was a bit ridiculous; in the past, Konrad Curze had been tormented quite badly by seven Annihilation Barges.

Although the other had eventually escaped, those seven machines had rendered him useless for the entire battle.

Yet now, although the Primarch had become smaller, his combat power hadn't diminished at all.

He could even inexplicably use spatial teleportation abilities.

And from the looks of it, it seemed much more stable than the teleportation used by Terminators.

"Let's take out the rest of the Annihilation Barges first!"

Watching his trump cards explode one by one,

Vashtorr finally couldn't take it anymore.

But when he looked closely at the cards in his hand, he realized that with his current strength, he couldn't deal with these Lion El'Jonsons who were hissing wildly on his planet.

If this continued, his painstakingly managed Forest Star would truly be gone.

Just as Vashtorr felt he was about to lose,

A sudden change occurred on the Dark Angels' side.

A mutated rat suddenly scurried out from a crack in the battlefield ruins.

Doraemon, wearing a Bamboo Copter and holding an Air Cannon, happened to see this rat.

The atmosphere became extremely bizarre in that instant.

The anywhere door skill, which could have been used seamlessly, stopped!

"Doraemon, what are you dazing for? Use the portal!"

"My TP is on cooldown, and eight Annihilation Barges are staring at me!"

Lion rolled to dodge a disintegration ray, the surrounding rocks and terrain instantly vanished from the material universe.

This weapon was the same type as those on Saturnine Terminators; these Annihilation Barges were equipped with all sorts of weapons from the Dark Age of Technology.

"There's a rat!"

Doraemon immediately started screaming, and the weapon he pulled from his pocket nearly scared the soul out of Lion!
