Chapter 3 - Surprise!
"I'm gonna rip that dress, Baby."
My heart thundered with fear.
NOOOOOOOOOO!
"Ahhhhhh!" I screamed as I lurched at the door, yanked it open and ran down the hallway.
"I'm going to get you! Take off your dress Lily Goldmoore!" She laughed maniacally, as she ran after me. "Don't make me do it with my knife."
My friend was crazy. My friend was fucking crazy!
I race into the elevator and slammed by hand on the bottom.
Just at the moment I looked up, I saw Kyti with the knife.
"Ahhhhh!" I screamed as the steel door clammed shut.
I took in a deep breath and a button popped from my dress hitting the steel wall.
Fuck.
No deep breaths.
No deep breaths.
I laughed and another button popped.
"Okay. No laughing too."
My phone dinged and I quickly looked at the screen as I felt the elevator move lower and lower.
Your ride is here.
Thank goodness.
But the image of Kyti running down the stairs quickly with a knife in her hand flashed in my mind and I shivered with fear.
I pulled my hands around my dress.
"Don't worry, baby. I won't let any crazy lady rip you away from me."
Alright. There was no way she would get to the ground floor before I would leave the building.
But Kyti was crazy athletic.
Damn it!
I would have to run for my dress's life!
I rang the driver, asking him to stand outside his vehicle and describe what he looked like so I wouldn't get kidnapped tonight.
I was a hot lady and all, but getting kidnapped was certainly not it.
Like, hello. Where was the consent?
Immediately I got off the elevator, I raced through the reception, only to find Kyti a short distance behind me.
"I'm going to get you!"
"Ahhhh!"
I bolted out of the building and rushed into the car, scanning the plate number as I did.
"Drive! Drive! Drive!"
The driver drove away as quickly as possible, as Kyti was just about to reach the car.
She stopped, pointed the knife at the car and laughed.
She turned away and then I heard a ding.
There was a message on my phone.
Enjoy your night. Sweet Cakes.
Then I laughed.
Because she was crazy. Fucking crazy.
And somehow, I knew she had forgiven me for what I said because she knew I didn't mean it. But I must do more. I must communicate my apology and I would do that after coming back from Sam.

The moment I stepped into Sam's apartment, I wanted to scream.
Roses!
My goodness, there were roses everywhere.
It was exactly as I had thought it would be.
Alright, maybe not exactly.
I wanted something public, something…grand.
But that was just me being greedy anyways.
I was being proposed to.
Sam was proposing to me!
Ah!
I screamed internally as I stepped into the room, walking carefully around the roses and shutting the door behind me.
Then I saw it.
Oh my goodness, I saw it.
'MARRY ME, LILY GOLDMOORE!'
I tossed my bag to the chair, clicked the door shut and flickered the lights on as I said over and over again. "Yes, yes, yes!" I tried to suppress my squeal.
The lights came on. "I will marry you…" my voice trailed off when I saw that the room was empty.
There were candles, roses and a cake with a… uhn… misspelling of my name.
I didn't see it before but now I could.
LILI GOODMOORE.
I gulped.
Well, anyone could have made that mistake.
Besides, I was being proposed to and that was the point.
SAM WAS PROPOSING TO ME!
Take that, Kyti. My relationship with him wasn't a waste. He loved me just as much as I loved him.
"Sam!" I said as I hurried in a direction that I could hear a muffled voice coming from.
It seemed there were more voices in fact.
Oh my goodness.
He planned a surprise party for me!
Ahhhhh!
I loved him so much!
An engagement and an engagement party?
This was amazing.
He knew me so well.
I pushed the door open, expecting a surprise.
The door pushed back and boom… surprise, surprise me!
Because what the hell was I looking at?
