Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Hagrid and Diagon Alley

Harry watches with shock and wonder as the man alighted from his bike. He watch him put down the helmet and then slowly turn to face him. "Ah, didn't expect a young bloke such as yourself standing under the heavy rain, Harry. You might catch a cold"

Harry look at the towering man and slowly delve into his mind but couldn't recall meeting anyone this tall. "That strange, I don't recall meeting you or exchange names."

"Ah, tha'd be wonderful, wouldn' it?" Hagrid smile and takes out his wand waving off the water from his body and clothes. "Come, Harry. Let get you inside before yeh catch a cold."

Feeling curious, Harry decided to follow the man inside and slowly recall the memory from the stranger who try to overtake his body including the killer of his family. "Right, of course. This way."

Leading the way back to the small lighthouse, Harry finally have the information on the man behind him feeling somewhat ease but not by much.

"Harry, yeh wouldn' remember… but when yeh were a baby, I held yeh in me hand—yeh were jus' a wee thing, small as me palm." Harry hear the man but did not really remember them which he don't know whether to relief from the trauma or be sad not able to remember such infant memory.

"Yeh were so tiny… smilin' in yer sleep while we rode on Sirius Black's motorbike…" At this, Hagrid pause giving Harry a strange feeling. He look back and saw Hagrid cheerful expression fall into something unrecognizable.

"What wrong, eh?" Remembering he had not known the man formally, Harry ask with a awkward smile.

"The name's Hagrid, Harry. Keeper o' Keys an' Grounds at Hogwarts." Hagrid saw that Harry didn't know his name and immediately introduce himself while shaking his head from Sirius Black.

"Well, Hagrid, is something wrong with this Sirius Black?" Tilting his head, Harry walks inside the house followed by Hagrid, who needs to bend just to fit in.

"Ah, it's nothin', Harry, really… jus' some bad memories, tha's all. Anyway, where're yer guardians? Better have a word with 'em 'bout Hogwarts… an' yer six months o' absence."

"Six months? Uncle would be filled with joy if he knew about that part." Raising his left eyebrow, Harry exclaimed and pointed to the couch where his cousin was sound asleep.

Hagrid just survey the room not really understand the meaning of Harry's word. Climbing up the stairs, Harry decided to wake the couple and deal with the aftermath of their wrath later after he show them about the stranger in the building.

Climbing up the stairs Harry stare at the Dursley couples and sigh. 'Whatever this will be the last time I saw them.' He thought and so he step closer to the bed and wake the whale Dursley. "Uncle we have visitors and he is quite huge."

Seeing him not waking up, Harry once again stirred him up. "Uncle Vernon, wake up." Swinging his left hand, Harry decided to smack the sleep out of him.

"Uh, What happened?" Looking around in drowsiness, Vernon immediately saw a face he loathed and hates. "You! Why are we here, uh? Get out!" Scrambling to his feet, Vernon stared at the boy and reached out to beat him. Amidst his movement, his wife also wakes due to the commotion and also joins Vernon in scolding Harry, who just watches their reaction and then laughs out loud.

"Boy, how dare you come to our room!" They both exclaimed and rose to beat him up, but Harry rushed down the stairs where Hagrid warmed himself by the fire while Dudley, rightfully scared, huddled at the corner while trembling.

Harry would have done the same if he did not know that he could escape safely by accessing his mysterious house that exists between the material and the immaterial world. "Boy! How dare you run? Get back here."

Breathing heavily, Vernon climbed down the stairs with a red face and sweaty with his wife, Aunt Petunia, following behind with her screeching at the back. Both stopped breathlessly as they saw a towering man slowly stand up from the couch and look at them with a calm expression.

"Name's Hagrid. I'm 'ere fer Harry's Hogwarts letter. We sent plenty, we did—but never got no proper reply. You wouldn' happen ter know anythin' 'bout that, eh?" Hagrid introduced himself and stated his business facing the couple.

"Hogwarts? That dreadful place filled with filth?" Petunia exclaimed and looked at the giant half man. "What's so good about that school? Humph, I would not have this freak sent to that place and have him piled with freaky stuff."

"But, Aunt Petunia, won't you all be happy if I were not in your life for six months? Imagine the absence of my freaky presence in your life for once," Harry immediately said from the side, which made Vernon stop from shouting with his mouth wide open.

"Six months? That..... six months of your absence? That is quite a good idea, but do not expect me to pay for your admission fee and school items."

"You don't have to worry, Uncle Vernon. The school will provide everything, right?" Looking at Hagrid, Harry confirmed, which the latter nodded his head to.

"Aye, don' yeh worry 'bout the fee."

"See?"

"Good, that good, now, go and do not return to us until your school has ended."

"Well then, Harry… let's get goin'. Got a whole magical world ter show yeh." Seeing everything playing in a strange order before him, Hagrid decided to take Harry out to Dragon Alley.
