Chapter 65 - Chapter 65

"Are you hearing your self? Have you forgotten that you have a daughter who needs you? Our daughter? Don't do anything foolish" she uses the daughter card. Seeing him freeze, she continued and starts to circle him like a hungry tigress indicting fear into her prey before devouring it.

"Do you want your precious baby girl to grow up in a world full of war and death? You want her growing up to find out that her father is moping over a dead slot and doesn't treat his empress right ? Do you want her to see you as a weak emperor and have the mentality that all men are like that , and settling to be treated with the bare minimum? Is that what you want?"

Chang's shoulders slumped visibly at the mention of their daughter, Princess Tirzah. The image of her innocent face - so similar to Bella's in some ways - pierced through his rage and reminded him of responsibilities beyond personal grief.

"You play dirty," he muttered, running a hand over his tired eyes. "Using our child against me is low even for you."

"You gave our daughter a Christian name. Was it because she looks like that wench? Or do you want her to end up like her. I never agreed to it and I doubt the empire will. I will still call her Yumi" she states firmly.

Only he knew the reason he named her that. Apart from the child oddly looking like Bella, he decided to give her that name because she had told him one time after she got pregnant that , it was a name giving to her by her childhood friends -meaning 'She is my delight'.

She also said it's the name she would give one of her children, if it's a daughter, but they were never born. It's was a way for him to respect Bella and their unborn babies"

He sank back into his chair at the map table, defeat evident in the slump of his posture. The fight seemed to drain out of him all at once.

"What do you want me to do?" he asked quietly, no longer shouting but speaking with weary resignation. "Sign these decrees? Appoint your brother general? Make your father a regional governor?"

His gaze drifted toward the door where his guards waited outside - symbols of an empire crumbling under internal pressure. "This isn't ruling anymore. This is surrendering my birthright piece by piece."
