Chapter 10 - Ch:10-The Beginning of the End

The sky could no longer hold itself together.

Cracks spread across the blue like fractures in glass, thin at first, then widening with each passing second as something far beyond human understanding pressed against reality from the inside. The forest below had already collapsed into silence, the ground shattered, the air distorted, everything bending around the single figure standing at its center.

Aarav.

Or whatever he was becoming.

"…Shall we end it?"

The voice that spoke wasn't just heard—it was felt, like a ripple moving through existence itself. The moment those words left his lips, the pressure in the air multiplied, forcing even the Watcher to take a step back.

This wasn't power anymore.

This was presence.

The girl stood frozen, her eyes locked on Aarav, but what she saw now wasn't the person she had been trying to protect. His expression was calm, almost peaceful—but empty, like something else had taken control completely.

"Aarav…" she whispered.

No response.

Only silence.

The Watcher stepped forward slowly, his hand tightening as divine energy gathered again, but this time it wasn't controlled—it was desperate. "If you release it fully," he said, his voice sharp, "there will be nothing left—not Heaven, not Earth, not reality itself."

Aarav tilted his head slightly, as if considering the warning.

"And?" he replied.

The single word echoed unnaturally.

Cold.

Detached.

The Watcher's expression hardened. "Then we stop you here."

Behind him, the sky cracked again—and from within those fractures, light descended.

Not natural light.

Divine.

Multiple figures began to emerge, their forms stepping through the broken sky like they were crossing a boundary that had never been meant to open. Their presence flooded the area instantly, overwhelming, suffocating, absolute.

The girl's eyes widened. "…Heaven… they're all coming."

Aarav looked up.

For the first time—

Interest.

"…So this is what's left," he murmured.

Dozens of divine beings now hovered above, each radiating power far beyond the hunters, far beyond the Watcher alone. This wasn't a small force.

This was Heaven's full response.

The Watcher spoke without looking away from Aarav. "Final containment protocol initiated."

The air changed.

Symbols of light formed in the sky, massive and complex, spinning slowly as they aligned into a structure—a seal, far greater than anything before.

A prison.

Aarav watched it form.

Quietly.

"You're trying to lock me again," he said.

"Yes," the Watcher replied.

A pause.

"And this time, we won't fail."

Silence followed.

Then—

Aarav smiled.

Not wide.

Not wild.

Just enough.

"…You already did."

The ground beneath him exploded.

A surge of energy burst outward, tearing through the forming seal before it could stabilize, shattering parts of the structure instantly as shockwaves rippled through the sky itself. Several of the divine beings were pushed back, their formations breaking for the first time.

The Watcher's eyes widened. "…Impossible."

Aarav slowly rose into the air.

Not flying.

Ascending.

Like gravity itself no longer applied to him.

"You still don't understand," he said quietly, his voice now fully layered, no trace of the old hesitation left.

"This was never your decision."

The energy around him intensified, no longer chaotic, no longer unstable—controlled, but not by Aarav alone.

Something deeper.

Something older.

The divine army attacked.

Light descended in massive waves, beams of energy strong enough to erase entire landscapes crashing toward him from every direction, each strike precise, calculated, absolute.

Aarav didn't move.

The attacks reached him—

And vanished.

Not blocked.

Not deflected.

Erased.

Like they had never existed.

Silence spread instantly.

Even the sky seemed to pause.

"…What is this…" one of the divine beings whispered.

The Watcher stepped forward again, his voice lower now. "…He's not using power."

A pause.

"…He's overriding reality."

Aarav's gaze shifted slowly across the sky, observing them, not as enemies—but as something insignificant.

"You built Heaven to contain me," he said.

"And yet… you built it inside the very thing I control."

The words sank in.

Too late.

Aarav raised his hand.

Slowly.

The sky responded.

Cracks expanded violently, the entire structure of space above them tearing open as if something was pushing outward from the inside. Light collapsed inward, the divine formations breaking apart as instability spread through their ranks.

"This world… this Heaven…" Aarav continued.

"…they only exist because I allow it."

The Watcher's expression changed completely.

"No… that's not—"

Aarav closed his hand.

The sky shattered.

Not metaphorically.

Not visually.

Actually shattered.

Fragments of light and space broke apart like glass, falling into nothingness as the divine army was thrown into chaos, their powers failing to stabilize against what was happening.

The girl fell to her knees, staring upward in shock. "…He's… destroying everything…"

Aarav looked down at his own hand.

"…So fragile."

For a moment—

Everything felt like it was ending.

Reality itself collapsing.

And then—

Something unexpected happened.

Aarav stopped.

His hand trembled slightly.

Just for a second.

A flicker.

A hesitation.

Inside him—

A voice.

Not the ancient one.

His.

"…Stop."

The energy around him flickered.

Unstable again.

The destruction slowed.

The Watcher noticed instantly.

"…He's still in there."

The girl looked up, hope flashing in her eyes. "Aarav! Fight it!"

Aarav's expression twisted slightly, like two forces were colliding within him.

"…I… won't…"

The ancient voice pushed back.

Stronger.

"You don't decide anymore."

Aarav clenched his fist.

"No…"

The sky trembled again.

Violently.

But this time—

Not from one force.

From conflict.

"…This is my body," Aarav said through gritted teeth.

"…my choice."

Silence.

Then—

For the first time—

The ancient presence hesitated.

A small crack formed—not in the sky—

But in control.

The Watcher's eyes widened.

"…He's resisting it."

The girl stood up slowly. "Then he can win."

Aarav's breathing grew heavier.

The energy around him unstable, clashing, tearing itself apart.

For a moment—

It looked like he might actually take control back.

And then—

The ancient voice spoke again.

Quiet.

Calm.

Dangerous.

"Then let me show you… what happens when you do."

Everything stopped.

Aarav froze.

His eyes widened.

"…What… did you—"

And suddenly—

A new vision hit him.

Not of the past.

Not of Heaven.

But of the future.

A destroyed world.

Empty.

Silent.

Nothing left.

And at the center of it—

Him.

Standing alone.

The last existence.

Aarav's body went still.

"…No…"

The voice whispered.

"This is what you are."

A pause.

"And this is what you will become."

The energy around Aarav surged again.

Stronger than before.

The hesitation—

Gone.

The Watcher stepped back.

"…We're out of time."

The girl shook her head. "No… he can still—"

But Aarav lifted his head again.

And this time—

There was no conflict.

No hesitation.

Only calm.

"…Then let it happen."

The sky cracked once more.

But this time—

There was no stopping it.

Aarav has seen the future… and instead of stopping it—he chose to accept it...
