Chapter 80 - Chapter 80. I'll Beat You to Death, You Bastard!

If Leticia's disguise were seen through by Kira, Melanie didn't dare imagine how panicked Leticia would be at that moment.

She might just run away directly.

"Don't worry, I'm very reliable." Leticia was quite dissatisfied with Melanie's lack of trust in her. Although she was afraid of being seen through by Kira, to say she was afraid of her own sister?

That was pure nonsense.

She was the older sister, after all. How could she possibly be afraid of her younger sister?

"Your performance just now wasn't very convincing." Melanie's eyes were full of distrust toward Leticia. Based on that performance just now, she was like a mouse seeing a cat.

And that's called not being afraid?

"You, shut up!" A somewhat embarrassed and annoyed Leticia slammed the table hard. "I'm not treating you to lunch today!"

"So you were planning to treat me to lunch?" Melanie's eyes widened slightly. She thought Leticia was planning to split the bill like before.

"Heh, you won't be able to eat it now anyway." Leticia clutched her fake chest and gave a cold snort. "Let's go, time to eat."

Melanie finished the remaining milk in her glass in one gulp and stood up from her chair. "We really should get going."

No one could guarantee if the incredibly curious Kira would suddenly come back, so slipping away early was the best move right now.

Fortunately, Leticia's biggest fear didn't come true. Kira had no intention of returning after leaving. Only after they reached another block did the Demon Lord sigh softly in relief.

"Well, now I have another reason to move."

"Are you afraid Kira will find out you're living downstairs from me?" Melanie naturally knew what Leticia meant.

Kira and Leticia were friends on the surface, and judging by Leticia's usual comments about Kira, Kira was still maintaining that superficial friendship.

This meant that Leticia, who didn't have many friends to begin with, would definitely mention Leticia often. The more she mentioned her, the more interested Kira would become in Leticia.

Add to that Leticia's hospitable personality; once they became truly close, she might even bring her good friend Luca to meet her other good friend, Quinn Sukina.

When that time came, it would truly be a case of sisters meeting, and their eyes would turn red with envy.

"But won't running away make you even more suspicious? Right now, at most, Kira thinks you're that Person in White; she won't associate you with Leticia at all," Melanie tried to dissuade her. She didn't want Leticia to move out, not for any noble reason, but out of her own selfishness.

She didn't want Leticia to be too far away from her.

"That's still better than being on edge all day."

"I can help you keep Kira away."

"You?" Leticia glanced at Melanie and shook her head decisively. "You can't."

That "you can't" really hurt Melanie. She, the grand Stellar Sword Saint, was being told she "couldn't" from the bottom of someone's heart for the first time.

"I can!"

"York, actually, we can be considered the same kind of person." Leticia patted Melanie's fair and rosy shoulder, saying with a touch of emotion, "Ah, wait, no, you're even more terminal than I am."

Melanie tilted her head. How was she terminal?

And what on earth did "the same kind of person" mean?

Besides both being girls, was there anything else similar between her and Leticia?

In terms of strength, they were indeed quite similar, but Leticia definitely wasn't talking about that.

"Your brain really matches your appetite." Seeing that Melanie couldn't understand her meaning, Leticia expressed that Melanie had the brain of a pig. "What do we have in common?"

"Both are girls."

"Yeah, and then?"

"Both like girls."

"Stand here and don't move." Leticia clenched her fists. Melanie's answer really made the anger in her heart surge.

"Oh." Melanie didn't know what Leticia wanted to do, but she still stood perfectly straight according to Leticia's words.

"Bend your knees a bit." Estimating the height difference between herself and Melanie, Leticia told Melanie to squat down a little.

Melanie did as she was told.

Then, Leticia raised her hand and slammed a fist hard onto Melanie's head. "Is your stupid brain filled with nothing but smut?! We are both older sisters! Sisters!"

"Ouch." Leticia's punch had no mercy. Having her head slammed without warning, Melanie clutched her head with teary eyes. "What are you doing?"

"Clearing your head. I don't even know how to begin complaining about what you just said." Leticia blew on her small fist. That punch just now was truly satisfying.

"What do you mean 'both like girls'? How do you know I like girls?"

"Aren't you?" Melanie asked back.

"...Yes, I do like girls." Leticia was too tired to argue. It was true she liked girls, but was that the point?

What she wanted to say just now was that as a siscon, it was impossible for Melanie to refuse her younger sister's requests.

"Let me ask you, between Leticia and me, who is more important to you?" Leticia asked a death question.

"Leticia is more important." Obviously, the relationship between Melanie and Leticia hadn't reached the point where this hopeless siscon would hesitate.

Leticia had expected this answer from Melanie. "So, you can't stop Leticia. When Leticia brings Kira to see me, won't it be over?"

"I can refuse to see them once or twice, but if it happens too often, Kira will definitely suspect me."

"..." Melanie fell silent. She realized Leticia's words made a lot of sense.

"So annoying. Why did Kira have to become classmates with Leticia? Is the world crazy? Of all things Kira could do, why did she have to come here to experience student life?" Leticia grumbled. She thought Kira was far away, but who would have thought she was so, so close.

Close enough to be practically face-to-face.

"Are you hiding anything else from me?" Thinking of this, Leticia looked at Melanie again. Since this person could even hide news about Kira, Leticia was now wondering if Melanie was hiding even more things from her.

"...Kira knows I know you," Melanie said in a very, very small voice.

"Knows who?!"

"Knows Leticia." Melanie guiltily looked away.

"I'm going to freaking kill you, you bastard! How does Kira know? You didn't just tell her you know me, did you?" Leticia's eyes widened. This Melanie was truly infuriating.

"No, she guessed it." Melanie quickly explained. It really wasn't her fault.
