Chapter 82 - Chapter 82. In the End, She Paid

"The noodles at this shop taste pretty good." After the noodles were served, Melanie cautiously slurped one strand and gave her evaluation, "Have you been here before?"

"No, I don't really go out much." Leticia was not as cautious; her cheeks were puffed out, and muffled sounds came from her mouth, completely disregarding the fact that it is best not to speak when one has food in their mouth.

She had just randomly picked a shop that looked decent. As for whether it tasted good, it was about the same as gacha in a game—it all depended on luck.

The news about the Elf Race on the television had already passed, and what followed was some news from within the Human Race.

Things like a council member being filmed messing around in the red-light district, or how many bad guys the heroes had caught in the last few days.

It was basically all useless information.

"Your human infrastructure is developed really well; even I, a Demon King, feel envious and jealous when I see it." Leticia, who had spent a tiny bit of time finishing her noodles, muttered softly.

The Demon Race's infrastructure had previously been roughly in the medieval period. Although it had made great progress after the world channels opened, it simply could not compare to the modernization here with humans.

However, the current style of the Demon Race also had its own unique flavor. Leticia actually quite liked the buildings in the Demon Race that were full of magical colors.

"Is the Demon Race… very bad?" Melanie's action of eating noodles paused for a moment. She had only been to the world of the Demon Race once, and that time was to slash at Leticia.

She had stayed for less than half a day, and the location was also in the wild, so she hadn't seen what the Demon Race cities looked like.

"It's not bad, it's just very different from the human side." Leticia shook her head, "You wouldn't go there anyway, so what's the point of telling you?"

"Maybe one day I'll want to go travel to the Demon Race?"

"Impossible. With the current relationship between humans and the Demon Race, let alone travel, even trade is considered a major breakthrough." Leticia pouted. Although the war had ended, the pain brought by the flames of war was far from over.

"Don't think about these irrelevant things. Hurry up and finish eating so we can go to the agreed-upon place to wait for the Captain and the others."

Leticia forcibly ended the topic. Having been away for so many years, she didn't know what the Demon Race had become nowadays either.

She believed that Kira could manage the Demon Race very well. Perhaps the current Demon Race was already very different from the one she had previously ruled.

Unlike humans, the difficulty for the Demon Race to engage in infrastructure development was extremely low, extremely low. With almost all of them being mages, they could completely manage to build a high-rise building in a single day.

"I'm still hungry." Melanie stared at the noodle bowl in front of her that had already been eaten clean, and said softly.

"If you're hungry, order a portion yourself."

"Tch."

"Even if you look at me with that kind of expression, I won't soften my heart!"

"Oh."

Consequently, Melanie ordered another bowl of noodles.

After Melanie finished eating with gusto, Leticia casually took out her phone and paid the bill.

Immediately, she suddenly remembered that she seemed to have paid for three bowls.

"Is this what the Captain calls a tsundere?" Melanie stood beside Leticia, watching the girl's uncertain expression, and burst out laughing with a 'pfft'.

Saying it so firmly, but in the end, didn't she still obediently treat her?

Leticia glared fiercely at Melanie, but this action of hers made people unable to help but marvel at how cute this girl was.

Really, Leticia in this current attire had absolutely no sense of oppression at all, and that glare just now could only give people a kind of cute-fierce feeling.

"Give me the money!" She reached out her hand and asked Melanie for the money she had overpaid.

Melanie's reaction, however, caught Leticia off guard. The white-haired girl actually reached out and took Leticia's hand, "Let's go, we still need to make good time."

Her own hand was enveloped by Melanie's warm and soft hand. Leticia's face turned slightly red, almost imperceptibly, "Let go!"

"No." Melanie firmly rejected Leticia's request.

While speaking, she also pulled Leticia toward the main entrance.

When it came to strength, Leticia really couldn't compare to Melanie, this pure brute. She was a physically weak mage; how could she compare to this thick-skinned humanoid tyrannosaurus?

Consequently, amidst the gazes of everyone in the shop thinking 'Ah, what a beautiful sight', Leticia was forcibly dragged out onto the street by Melanie.

"Why are you so shameless? Randomly holding another girl's hand, don't you feel ashamed?" After arriving on the street, in order to avoid becoming the focus of the crowd, Leticia had to give up resisting.

After settling down, a feeling that being held by Melanie wasn't so bad suddenly emerged from the bottom of her heart.

Melanie's hand was very warm, and the skin on her palm was very delicate; it didn't look at all like a warrior who had been active on the battlefield for years.

"I wanted to do it, that's all." Melanie said a rather overbearing sentence, "I feel like I've fallen in love with you."

"If you want to go into heat, go do it to someone else. I'll tell you right here, even if I, Leticia, am beaten to death by you or jump off the Central Tower, I will never fall in love with you, you damn pervert!" Melanie's straight-forward approach didn't have even the slightest effect; Leticia's attitude was as tough as ever.

When affection is insufficient, Leticia's defense is very, very terrifying; it's not something that can be broken through by just a few words.

Arriving at the agreed-upon park, Leticia glanced at the time and discovered that there was still some time before the meeting, "Seems like we came early."

"Let's go sit on that chair for a while," Melanie suggested.

"Fine." Leticia did not object.

Since she could sit, why torture herself by standing? It just so happened there was an empty chair under the shade of a tree; might as well sit, right?

Arriving at the bench, Melanie reached out and touched the chair, then immediately frowned and said, "It's a bit dirty."

"A Cleaning Spell can fix that." Leticia snapped her fingers, and the chair in front of her instantly became clean.

Magic is just that convenient sometimes.

After sitting on the chair, Melanie discovered that Leticia hadn't sat down, but instead took out her phone and aimed it at her.

"Hm?"

"Taking a picture for the Captain, so she doesn't fail to recognize us when the time comes." Leticia explained while holding up her phone. Although she couldn't send her own photo, she could completely send Melanie's.

"Don't look so serious, relax a bit… I didn't tell you to smile, change your expression back."

Very quickly, Leticia finished taking the photo. After sending the photo to the Captain and telling the Captain where they were, Leticia also sat on the chair.

Of course, she maintained quite a distance from Melanie.
