The room went quiet and I nodded, my nerves sitting just below the surface of everything. Phoenix shifted in his chair, the leather creasing under his weight.
Cel pushed herself forward without warning, her curiosity finally winning out over her patience. I let her through without fighting it. As she surfaced I watched Pollux's eyes begin to glow, his own wolf rising to meet her across the space between us. They regarded each other in silence for a long moment, a wordless exchange that had a weight and tension I could feel in my own chest without being able to name it.
Cel pulled back after a while and huffed. "I believe him," she said simply, and retreated.
"How did you find me?" I asked. "After all this time?"
Pollux paused and ran his fingers through his hair, tucking it behind his ear. "That is rather a long story."
I leaned back and crossed my arms. "You have already told me I am a Lycan. What else could there possibly be at this point?"
