Chapter 1 - Building the Heaven Destroying Sect

Chapter 1: The Golden Currency

The fluorescent lights of the lecture hall always seemed to flicker in rhythm with my exhaustion.

My name is Kong Feng. In my previous life, I was a common university instructor, scraping by on a meager salary of twenty thousand yen. Born into poverty and orphaned by a tragic bus accident, I had spent every waking moment clawing my way toward a "good life." But fate is a cruel editor.

A flash of headlights, the screech of tires, and the crushing weight of an overloaded truck were the last things I knew of Earth. As my vision blurred into a dull gray, my final thought was a bitter one: What a miserable, wasted life.

Then, I opened my eyes.

The air was different here—heavy, electric, and smelling of ancient pine. Before I could even sit up, a cold, mechanical voice resonated directly in my skull.

[Ding! Infinite Duplicating System Binding Complete.]

A translucent blue interface shimmered in the air before me.

[Current World: The Primordial Realm]

[Status: Demon Cultivators, Daoist Masters, and Buddhist Sages coexist with Ancient Beasts. Dragons and Phoenixes roam the high heavens.]

I stared at the screen, my heart hammering. A second chance? And with a "System"?

"If the heavens have given me this," I whispered, clutching the dirt, "I won't waste it. I'll live comfortably this time."

[System Notification: The Host can duplicate any registered object an infinite number of times.]

[New Quest: Establish a Sect.]

[Time Limit: 1 Month.]

[Penalty for Failure: Erasure of Host's Soul.]

My blood ran cold. "Erasure? I just got here!"

I looked at the interface. To build a sect, I needed land, buildings, and resources. I needed money.

[Ding! Beginner Package Received: 1x Registration Slot, 1x Body Strengthening Pill.]

"System, how do I duplicate things?"

[Answer: You must register the object. You currently have one slot available.]

I fumbled through my pockets, hoping for a gold coin or a gem. Nothing. I was a penniless transmigrator in a world where "Spirit Stones" were the currency of the gods.

Movement caught my eye. Down the road, a merchant's carriage was buried axle-deep in a muddy pit. The merchant was sitting on a nearby rock, head in his hands.

An idea struck. I pulled the Body Strengthening Pill from the system space and swallowed it.

The effect was instantaneous. A violent surge of heat exploded in my chest, radiating through my limbs. My muscles tightened, and my senses sharpened until I could hear the heartbeat of a bird in a nearby tree.

I approached the man. "Need a hand?"

The merchant looked up, unimpressed. "What can a scrawny scholar like you do alone? We need a team of oxen to—"

He didn't finish. I stepped to the back of the carriage, gripped the wooden frame, and heaved. With a grunt of newfound power, I single-handedly hoisted the heavy wagon out of the muck and onto solid ground.

The merchant's jaw dropped. He scrambled to his feet. "Immortal! My apologies, I didn't realize... Thank you! If you need anything, name it."

"I need work," I said simply. "And a way to the nearest town."

"Consider it done! Be my guard until we reach the gates, and I'll pay you well."

The First Million

Two days of travel later, we arrived at a bustling trading hub. The merchant, a man named Yang, handed me a glowing, translucent pebble.

"Here is your pay, Kong Feng. One Middle-Grade Spirit Stone."

As soon as my fingers touched it, I called out internally: System! Register this!

[Ding! Registration Successful: Middle-Grade Spirit Stone. Duplication enabled.]

I felt a smirk tugging at my lips. In my mind's eye, I saw the one stone turn into ten, then a hundred, then a sea of glowing blue gems.

I asked Yang if he knew of any property for sale. He led me to a grand guild hall where a stunning woman in silk robes greeted us.

"I wish to establish a sect," I told her, my voice steady. "I need land. Large land. Money is not an issue."

The lady blinked, skeptical of my dusty clothes, but led me to a valley at the foot of a towering mountain. An abandoned sect stood there, its pagodas weathered but magnificent.

"The previous owners lost a bet and had to sell," she explained. "For the buildings and the surrounding mountain, the price is One Million Middle-Grade Spirit Stones."

"I'll be back tomorrow," I said.

She watched me walk away, clearly convinced I was a delusional beggar. But the next morning, I returned, hauling two heavy storage rings.

"Check them," I said, sliding them across the table.

Her face went pale as she inspected the contents—500,000 spritual stones in each. She didn't know that with a thought, I had flooded my system inventory with duplicates of Yang's single stone.

I signed the papers, and within days, I spent another four million stones to have Merchant Yang's connections restore the buildings to their former glory. The jade tiles sparkled under the sun, and the gates were carved from ancient sandalwood.

Above the main gate, I hung a plaque: THE HEAVEN DESTROYING SECT.

[Ding! Main Quest Complete!]

[Reward: Cultivation jump to Energy Gathering Realm.]

A pillar of spiritual energy crashed down from the sky, slamming into my crown. My bones groaned as they became denser than steel. I felt like I could shatter a mountain with a flick of my wrist.

[Ding! 1 Extra Registration Slot Acquired.]

[New Mission: Enroll Five Disciples.]

[Rewards: High-Grade Spiritual Veins, Mastery in Swordsmanship.]

I looked out over my empty, beautiful territory. The world was vast, dangerous, and filled with monsters—but I had an infinite treasury in my pocket.

"The era of the Heaven Destroying Sect," I whispered, "starts now."
