Chapter 27 - Chapter 5,2: Ryota Takagi

Obsidia's eyes looked toward the source of the sound. The yellowish light clearly illuminated Sinhart's back.

The thudding sound stopped.

Obsidia's face looked calm. Even so, she knew something was wrong with Sinhart in front of her, despite the fact that Sinhart was currently facing away from her.

Red blood had been flowing from the wound on Sinhart's right hand, which hung at his side. Obsidia noticed something unusual through Sinhart's left elbow, which was moving as if doing something. Obsidia's feet stepped calmly, closing the distance between them and Sinhart.

Ascella's head, which had been resting against the back of Obsidia's leg, slowly began to tilt backward. Simultaneously, the candle wick was swept by the wind as Obsidia moved.

Other red blood was seen dripping from Sinhart's body. Seeing this—Obsidia quickly stopped her steps. The distance between them was close, with only two steps remaining.

"It feels like I have amnesia or something right now..." Ryota slowly turned toward Obsidia.

Right after he turned. The candlelight softly illuminated his figure. His left hand was still raised in front of his chest, covered in blood that continued to drip onto the floor.

Obsidia did not look at the blood-soaked hand. She looked at Sinhart's face, which was smiling. But not with the corners of Sinhart's eyes, which were stiff, with pupils that looked dead, staring blankly. Also, the skin on his forehead was torn, letting fresh blood stream down onto his face.

Seeing Sinhart like that, the plate Obsidia held vibrated slightly for a moment.

Obsidia's mouth opened slightly. But before she could get any words out, Sinhart interrupted with the same expression.

"My memory is really unclear right now." Sinhart raised his right hand and showed it to Obsidia, though his movements looked forced and stiff.

"Even the pleasure I got earlier, I've forgotten it," said Sinhart, his smiling mouth visible, opening slightly.

A clear sparkle of *Anima Eugenes* was seen emerging through Obsidia's left hand. Its particles evaporated into the air while enveloping her hand.

"I have a nature of being easily interested in the way other people think... Although this sounds strange to you. But the way you are thinking right now, compared to what I know about you...," Obsidia said.

"It's very different, isn't it?!" Sinhart retorted.

Everything was silent for a moment and...

His breathing grew faster.

"I am Ryota Takagi!" He said in a slightly higher tone while drawing in a breath more quickly and deeply.

"But! Yes, I know that..." The red blood from his forehead flowed, soaking his cheeks and lips.

"I feel like I've forgotten it. All the feelings and the reason why." His tone of voice began to lower compared to before.

"Even a few moments ago my head was filled with anger... and I don't even remember the reason clearly," he continued, while lowering his right hand back down.

As he bowed slightly. The red blood continued to flow, soaking more sides of his face and falling to the floor like tears.

Sinhart opened both of his blood-filled palms and looked at them with his own eyes.

"...But the worst part of it. I feel like I'm truly convinced that my real self is... the one right now," he said with a smile that had vanished.

Obsidia, who had been listening to Sinhart's words, began to blink her eyes, which had been too focused while listening.

"In that case, calm yourself, Ryota Takagi. Do not make any more movements, because right now that body is truly broken, inside and out." Obsidia said to the person standing in front of her.

Although the skin of his right arm was slightly covered in blood splatters. The entire right hand looked bruised and bluish, with several fragments that looked like shattered bone piercing deep into his knuckles.

The room suddenly turned dark. As Obsidia's right hand consumed the candle wick. Only the very weak light from the *Anima Eugenes* remained. Also, the greenish glow from Obsidia's eyes.

Simultaneously with the sound of the plate being set down, footsteps treading on liquid were heard in the midst of it all.

"Unlike the others, perhaps this will only have a temporary effect on you," Obsidia murmured.

Her green eyes were seen already illuminating the face of the person in front of her.

His face, covered in blood with eyes half-open, only stared at the striking green light in front of him.

"So calming...," the sound of his voice slowly faded.

His eyelids felt heavy.

Slowly, his eyes began to close tightly.

Immediately after that, the sound of a body slamming onto the floor was heard.

The room was silent again.

There was no answer from the person who called himself—Ryota Takagi.

Only the green glow staring at his body, which lay unconscious.
