Chapter 24 - Volume 24: The Economic Guillotine

Global Asset: Rebirth Of The Ruthless Scholar

Chapter 1: The Invisible Invasion

Xun Long did not march into the capital of the Iron-Leaf Kingdom with an army. Instead, he entered through the main gates dressed as a simple wandering merchant, with Lin Xiao by his side. While the kingdom's mages were looking for a "Berserker" in the sky, the "Scholar" was already walking among them.

"System, initiate the 'Market Destabilization' protocol," he commanded silently.

[INTELLECT MODE: Active][Analysis: The Iron-Leaf Kingdom relies 90% on 'Spirit-Grain' exports. Their currency is backed by the Royal Granary.]

Xun Long spent the afternoon visiting the city's major grain traders. Using his 1000x Intellect, he predicted the exact moment of a "Lunar Blight" that would affect the crops—a detail the kingdom's astrologers had missed. He began short-selling the kingdom's currency through several front-organizations.

Chapter 2: The Logic of the Bread Riot

Within three days, the price of bread tripled. The citizens, already taxed to the limit for the war effort, began to grow restless.

"Hunger is a better soldier than any mercenary," Xun Long noted to Lin Xiao as they sat in a quiet tea house.

Lin Xiao looked at the angry crowds forming in the streets. "Long, these are innocent people. Why make them suffer?"

Xun Long's gaze remained cold. "If I fight the army, thousands die in blood. If I fight the economy, the King loses his throne without a single arrow being fired. This is the 'Efficiency of Pain,' Xiao." His love for her was the only thing stopping him from burning the city, but even that love followed a ruthless logic.

Chapter 3: 18+ The Shadow Audit

The King's secret police, the "Shadow Guard," finally caught onto the strange merchant. They sent a team of six elite assassins to Xun Long's inn at midnight.

The combat was 18+ and clinical. Xun Long didn't even get out of his chair. He used his Brute Strength to flick copper coins at the speed of bullets. The coins didn't just hit the assassins; they punched clean through their skulls, pinning their brains to the wooden walls behind them.

"Six lives. Six coins. Zero waste," he whispered in English. He looked at the last surviving assassin, who was paralyzed with fear. "Go tell your King: The Auditor has arrived, and his debt is due."

Chapter 4: The Collapse of the Royal Bank

By the fifth day, the kingdom's currency was worthless. The mercenaries hired to protect the palace deserted because their gold coins couldn't buy a single loaf of bread.

Xun Long walked into the Royal Bank. The guards, recognizing his aura of power, stepped aside. He didn't steal the gold; he simply burned the "Debt Ledgers." By destroying the records of who owed what to the King, he erased the King's power over the nobility.

"I am not a thief," Xun Long told the trembling bankers. "I am a Correction in the System."

Chapter 5: The Turtle's Decision

Lin Xiao spent the day setting up a free clinic for the rioting citizens. She used the very funds Xun Long had "liberated" from the bank to buy supplies.

Xun Long watched her from a distance. He realized that she was his "Counter-Balance." While he destroyed the old world, she was already building the new one. This slow-burning devotion was the only thing keeping his 1000x Intellect from concluding that humanity was a lost cause. He decided that for her sake, he would spare the King's life—but not his pride.

Chapter 6: The Throne Room Confrontation

The King sat alone in his throne room, his crown tilted, his guards gone. Xun Long walked in, the sound of his scholar's shoes echoing on the marble floor.

"You... you destroyed my kingdom without a single spell," the King gasped.

Xun Long stood before the throne. "You built your kingdom on the backs of the weak. Physics dictates that any structure with a weak foundation must eventually collapse under its own weight. I am simply the gravity that accelerated the process."

Xun Long reached out and took the King's crown. He didn't put it on. He crushed it into a ball of scrap metal with his bare hand.

Chapter 7: This Is The Rebirth Of The New God

The volume ends with the citizens of the Iron-Leaf Kingdom storming the palace, not to kill, but to claim the food and gold Xun Long had made available.

Xun Long walked away from the chaos, meeting Lin Xiao at the city gates. The sun was setting, casting a long, dark shadow behind him. He looked at the burning palace in the distance.

[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: Regional Domination Achieved.][Power Scale: Ascending.]

"This Is The Rebirth Of The New God," he declared, as he and Lin Xiao disappeared into the evening mist, heading toward the next kingdom on his list.
