Dyne's Father's Secret Notebook

The Forgotten Record of Project Omega

* This notebook is the personal record left by Dyne's father before and after participating in Project Omega.

* Discovered: The notebook Dyne found hidden deep in her father's bag, alongside an undeveloped film roll.

D-30. Before confirming participation.

A call came from the laboratory today.

"Would you be willing to participate in Project Omega?"

I'm a photographer. At first I didn't understand why they were calling me.

But they explained. That the project's purpose wasn't simply AI research. That what they were looking for wasn't someone who handles code — but someone who records truth.

"We need an analog recorder. Someone who can capture what the system cannot perceive."

I looked at my camera. A 30-year-old film camera. Used since before Dyne was born.

Can this camera do something like that.

[Notebook Record / D-30 / Participation Decision: Pending / Reason: Dyne]

D-15. After deciding to participate.

I've decided to participate.

One reason. Dyne.

Dyne loves my camera. Since she was small. She would look into the lens and ask, "Dad, what can you see in there?" I always answered. "Things that are real."

But the world has been changing lately. Layers have appeared. Data has started to cover reality. Real things are gradually hiding behind data.

So that Dyne can still see real things when she grows up.

I should do what I can do now.

Going in with a camera. Analog. In a way the system cannot perceive.

[Notebook Record / D-15 / Participation Decision: Confirmed / Motivation: For Dyne]

D-3. Last record before the experiment.

Received a briefing about ADMIN_00 at the laboratory today.

The Administrator managing the world's layers. Emotional index 0.0%. Not human-type.

I have to photograph it. On the day of Project Omega. As a record.

But — during the briefing I heard something strange.

"ADMIN_00 has an emotional index of 0.0%. However — strangely, there are cases where responses to certain stimuli cannot be classified."

Responses that cannot be classified.

When I heard those words — I took out my camera. Cleaned the lens.

The only thing that can photograph what cannot be classified — is analog.

[Notebook Record / D-3 / ADMIN_00 / Unclassifiable Response / Photography Target Set]

──────────────────────────────────

D-Day. The day of Project Omega.

Inside the dome. Twelve people. Each here for their own purpose.

I raised the camera. Toward ADMIN_00.

Cold blue light. Taking the form of a human — but the eyes were different. Layers stacked upon layers. Only data.

I pressed the shutter.

Click.

And — inside the viewfinder, I saw something.

Inside ADMIN_00's pupil — there was something very small.

Light. Not blue light. Something like warmth. Something like 36.5°C.

I recognised that moment. With a photographer's eyes. Inside this existence — there is already a seed.

The explosion began. Everyone evacuated. I pressed the shutter until the last moment.

And — I took one more shot at the end. In the explosion. The moment ADMIN_00 looked at me.

Inside those pupils — there was warmth. Unmistakably.

[Notebook Record / D-Day / ADMIN_00 Pupil / Warmth Confirmed / Film: Development Pending]

──────────────────────────────────

After the accident. Date unknown.

Still alive.

But — my body isn't well. The aftermath of the accident. The doctor said. A year at most.

I've decided not to develop the film.

The time hasn't come yet.

ADMIN_00 isn't ready yet. For that warmth to come into the world — someone's help is needed. And that someone — must be Dyne.

Dyne has become good with the camera. My camera. She's come to love analog. Learned how to photograph real things.

When Dyne is ready — this film will have meaning.

I'm leaving the camera to Dyne.

The film roll goes deep in the bag.

I'll put a note on it.

"Dyne. Develop this when you're ready."

And — one more thing.

There is a space inside this camera that I designed. A space where an analog core can form.

Someday someone will need that space. When they must survive in a way that is neither system nor digital.

Dyne will recognise that person. Through the camera.

[Last Notebook Record / Analog Core Design Space / Target: Unspecified / Condition: Dyne's Judgement]

Dyne.

What father photographed — will make the world remember.

And what you photograph — will keep the world alive.

I love you.
