Chapter 1 - The Day the Sky Broke

The sky didn't fall that day.

It cracked.

Not like thunder. Not like lightning.

Like glass.

Tony noticed it first—a thin, silver fracture stretching across the sky, so sharp it looked like it could cut reality itself. It wasn't wide. It wasn't loud.

But it didn't belong.

And the worst part—

It didn't stay still.

It spread.

---

At first, Tony didn't react.

People saw strange things in the sky all the time—planes, reflections, weird light patterns. His mind searched for something normal to explain it.

But nothing fit.

Because the line didn't fade.

It didn't shift with the wind.

It didn't move like clouds.

It stayed.

And slowly…

It grew.

---

"Hey… do you see that?" Tony asked quietly, not taking his eyes off it.

John barely glanced up. "See wh—"

He froze mid-sentence.

"…okay, that's not normal."

---

Chris stepped forward, his expression sharpening instantly. "That wasn't there before."

Emily wrapped her arms around herself, a chill running through her. "It feels… wrong."

Bruce stood slightly ahead of them. Silent. Still. Watching the crack like it meant something to him.

Like he understood something the others didn't.

---

The fracture widened.

Not fast.

But steady.

Unstoppable.

---

A sound followed.

Low.

Deep.

Not something you heard—something that pressed against your chest from the inside.

Tony swallowed.

The air felt heavier.

Like breathing through something thick.

---

People around them started to notice.

Voices rose.

"What is that?"

"Is that some kind of projection?"

"No… no, that's real…"

---

Phones came out.

Cameras pointed upward.

But even through screens—

It looked wrong.

Unnatural.

---

Tony's eyes stayed locked on it.

Because something inside that crack…

Was moving.

---

Not clearly.

Not fully visible.

But there was something there.

Something shifting behind the sky.

---

The light inside wasn't sunlight.

It was colder.

Sharper.

Almost like it was cutting into the world instead of lighting it.

---

His heartbeat slowed.

Strangely calm.

Too calm.

Like part of him already knew—

This wasn't just something happening.

This was something beginning.

---

The crack spread faster.

Splitting into branches.

Breaking outward like shattered glass.

---

The low vibration deepened into a rumble.

The ground beneath their feet trembled.

Buildings shook.

Glass shattered in the distance.

People screamed.

---

Emily lost her balance. Chris caught her immediately.

"Stay close!"

John grabbed Tony's arm tightly. "This isn't normal—this is NOT normal—"

Bruce stepped forward instead of back.

"…it's starting."

---

"What is?!" John shouted.

No answer came.

Because there was no time left for answers.

---

The sky broke.

---

Light exploded outward.

Blinding.

Endless.

Wrong.

---

The ground vanished.

The air disappeared.

The world tore apart.

---

Tony felt weightless.

Falling—

Or rising—

He couldn't tell.

---

Sound disappeared.

Thoughts slowed.

Everything became distant.

---

For a moment—

He wasn't there.

---

Then—

Impact.

---

Tony slammed onto cold stone, air ripped from his lungs. He coughed hard, forcing himself to breathe again.

"…where…?"

His voice felt small.

Like it didn't belong in this place.

---

He pushed himself up slowly.

And froze.

---

This wasn't the city.

---

The sky above was empty.

Not night.

Not clouds.

Just an endless black void stretching forever.

---

The ground beneath him was cracked stone.

Cold.

Ancient.

Like it had been here long before him.

---

Ruins surrounded them.

Massive broken pillars.

Collapsed structures.

Fragments of something once powerful.

Now silent.

Dead.

---

"…okay…" John whispered, his voice shaking. "…this is bad."

Emily turned slowly, taking it all in. "Where are we?"

Chris scanned the surroundings carefully. "Everyone here?"

Bruce nodded once. "Yeah."

---

Tony didn't respond.

Because something else had appeared.

---

A faint glow.

Right in front of him.

---

Then more.

Until—

A translucent screen formed in the air.

---

[System Initializing…]

---

Silence fell instantly.

Heavy.

Unavoidable.

---

John blinked. "…tell me I'm dreaming."

"No," Chris said quietly.

Emily stared at it. "…what is this…?"

Bruce smirked faintly.

"…now it makes sense."

---

Tony stepped closer.

The screen flickered.

Glitched.

Unstable.

---

[Error…]

[Recalculating…]

[Unknown Variable Detected…]

---

Tony frowned.

"…unknown?"

---

The air shifted again.

Colder.

Heavier.

Like something had already gone wrong.

---

The screen stabilized.

Barely.

---

[Welcome… Player Tony.]

---

Then—

Another line appeared.

---

[Warning: System Integrity Compromised.]

---

Chris stepped closer. "What does that mean?"

Tony didn't answer.

Because he could feel it.

---

Something had already started breaking.

---

And somehow—

It was connected to him.

---

A low growl echoed through the ruins.

Deep.

Unnatural.

---

John turned instantly. "Did you hear that?"

Emily nodded slowly. "…we're not alone."

Chris stepped forward. "Stay together."

Bruce cracked his knuckles.

"…finally."

---

Shadows shifted between the ruins.

Forms emerging.

Eyes glowing faintly in the darkness.

Watching.

Waiting.

---

The system flickered again.

---

[First Trial Initiated]

---

The creatures attacked.

Fast.

Aggressive.

Relentless.

---

Chris reacted instantly.

"Watch their movement!"

Emily supported from behind.

John barely dodged attacks.

Bruce fought head-on.

---

Tony hesitated—

Then moved.

Learning.

Adapting.

Surviving.

---

The fight was messy.

Chaotic.

Uncontrolled.

---

But slowly—

They found rhythm.

Worked together.

Pushed forward.

---

One by one—

The creatures fell.

---

Silence returned.

Broken only by heavy breathing.

---

"We survived…" Emily whispered.

"For now," Chris replied.

---

The system flickered again.

---

[Trial Phase 1 Complete]

---

Tony looked ahead.

Toward a dark opening.

A cave.

---

"…we need shelter," Chris said.

No one argued.

---

They moved together.

Carefully.

Slowly.

---

The closer they got—

The colder it became.

---

The cave stood silent.

Dark.

Waiting.

---

"…we go in?" John asked nervously.

Chris nodded.

Bruce stepped inside first.

Emily followed.

John hesitated—then went in.

---

Tony paused at the entrance.

Just for a moment.

---

Something inside him warned him.

---

But he ignored it.

And stepped inside.

---

The darkness swallowed them whole.

---

Each step deeper—

The silence grew heavier.

Too heavy.

Then—

A sound.

Low.

Deep.

A roar.

Tony froze.

His chest tightened.

Because this time—

He didn't just hear it.

He felt it.

And he knew—

Whatever was inside this cave…

Was waiting for them.

The roar didn't fade.

It grew. 🔥
