Chapter 138 - Chapter 6: Research Thread

The blanket fort was quieter than usual.

Not because anyone left.

Because everyone was focused.

Laptops out.

Phones scattered.

The poster laid flat in the center like an evidence board.

Takeru sat cross-legged, staring at the screen.

Gojo beside him, casually scrolling through old jujutsu archives.

Yuji leaned in over Takeru's shoulder.

Hakari was already typing too fast to be legal.

Panda was reading multiple tabs at once.

Yuta and Megumi were cross-referencing notes.

Kirara watched quietly, occasionally pointing things out.

Inumaki:

"…Tuna."

(this is serious)

Takeru spoke first.

"…We found patterns."

Yuji blinked.

"…Already?"

Gojo nodded.

"…It's not subtle once you know where to look."

Takeru turned the laptop slightly so everyone could see.

A digital breakdown of the poster had been reconstructed from multiple sources.

Names partially smudged… now cross-matched with archived records.

Takeru pointed.

"…Zen'in."

A list appeared.

Multiple branches. Multiple offshoots.

Some confirmed. Some erased.

Hakari leaned closer.

"…That's a lot of them."

Panda nodded.

"…Clan fragmentation explains the repetition."

Takeru moved the cursor.

"…Kamo."

Another cluster appeared.

Distorted historical entries. Incomplete lineage gaps. Sudden disappearances.

Megumi's eyes narrowed.

"…That doesn't look clean."

Gojo exhaled slightly.

"…It never is with the Kamo."

Yuji leaned in.

"…Okay… so Zen'in, Kamo…"

Takeru clicked again.

"…Gojo."

A branching set appeared.

But this one was different.

Multiple "Gojo" entries.

Not one lineage.

Not one branch.

Fragments.

Yuji froze.

"…Wait—why are there multiple Gojos?"

Gojo smirked faintly.

"…Extended branches, forgotten relatives, and erased records."

Hakari whistled.

"…That's messy."

Panda added:

"…Someone was actively rewriting the tree."

Kirara leaned in.

"…That's not normal record decay."

Takeru nodded.

"…Agreed."

Then—

he hesitated.

Just for a second.

Moved the cursor lower.

A final entry appeared.

Distorted text.

Glitched characters.

Partially corrupted beyond recognition.

"It$9dri"

Silence.

Yuji frowned.

"…What is that supposed to be?"

Megumi leaned closer.

"…That's not a normal encoding."

Hakari squinted.

"…Looks like it got hit by a curse itself."

Panda tilted his head.

"…Or intentionally scrambled."

Gojo's expression changed slightly.

More serious now.

"…That wasn't in the physical poster originally."

Takeru nodded slowly.

"…It appears only in digital reconstruction."

Yuji swallowed.

"…So it's new?"

Takeru answered quietly.

"…Yes."

Kirara crossed their arms.

"…So either something is hiding it…"

Megumi finished:

"…Or something is trying to be found."

A beat.

Hakari leaned back.

"…So what is it?"

Takeru stared at the name.

Longer than before.

"…Unknown."

A pause.

"…But it is connected."

Yuji rubbed his head.

"…So we've got Zen'in, Kamo, multiple Gojos…"

Panda added:

"…And a corrupted entry we can't read."

Gojo leaned back slightly.

"…A missing piece."

Takeru nodded once.

"…We decode it next."

Yuji sighed.

"…Of course we do."

Hakari grinned.

"…This is gonna be fun."

Kirara muttered:

"…I don't trust that sentence."

And the screen stayed open—

hovering on the corrupted word.

Like it was waiting.
