Chapter 163 - Chapter 5: Fuel for the Road

The pizza arrived in stacks.

Four large boxes slid onto the table like they weighed nothing compared to everything else going on in their lives.

Hakari immediately opened one.

"…Finally."

Yuji already had a slice in hand.

"…This is healing food."

Kirara sighed but still took a piece.

"…You people are unbelievable."

Choso stared at the pizza for a moment.

"…This is considered necessary sustenance?"

Yuta nodded while chewing.

"…Yes."

Choso accepted that without further questions.

Takeru leaned back in his chair, eating slowly.

For once—no urgency in his movements.

"…We should meet up with some others."

Megumi looked up.

"…For what?"

Takeru continued.

"…To find Tengen."

The room shifted slightly at the name.

Yuji paused mid-bite.

"…Right. Tengen."

Hakari leaned forward.

"…So that's the plan after Culling Games start?"

Yuta nodded.

"…Yes. We need coordination."

Megumi added calmly:

"…We can't handle Kenjaku or the barrier systems alone."

Kirara exhaled.

"…So more allies."

Choso's voice was quiet.

"…Stronger ones."

Hakari smirked.

"…Good. I was getting bored anyway."

Yuji leaned back slightly.

"…Feels like we're building a team for a final boss fight."

Takeru didn't react immediately.

Just took another bite.

"…Accurate assessment."

Silence for a moment.

Only chewing.

Only the distant noise of machines below.

Then Megumi spoke again.

"…Who do we have left?"

Yuta thought for a moment.

"…Maki. Maybe others still scattered."

Hakari pointed with a slice.

"…And anyone crazy enough to still be in this mess."

Kirara nodded.

"…That narrows it down less than you think."

Choso looked down at his pizza.

"…I will follow."

Yuji smiled slightly.

"…Yeah. Same."

Takeru finished his slice, wiping his hands.

"…Then we move after rest."

Hakari grinned.

"…Rest, eat, then war."

Megumi sighed.

"…That's one way to put it."

For a brief moment—

there was no fighting.

No curses.

No blood.

Just pizza.

Plans.

And the faint illusion of control.

But everyone in the room knew—

it wouldn't last long.
