The silence after Gojo's answer didn't really fade.
It just… settled.
Like it had found a place to stay in the room.
Takeru stood again.
Not rushed.
Not uncertain.
Just decided.
"…I'm gonna regret this."
A pause.
Then he looked at Gojo.
"…Where did he live?"
Gojo didn't answer immediately.
His expression didn't sharpen, but it did lose a bit of its usual lightness.
"…Suguru's place?"
Takeru nodded once.
"…Yeah."
A few people shifted slightly.
Hakari glanced between them.
"…You sure about this?"
Megumi's eyes narrowed faintly.
"…That's not a casual visit."
Yuji looked uneasy.
"…We're talking about the past past…"
Choso stayed still, watching Takeru.
Hana didn't speak, but her attention stayed locked in.
Yuta exhaled quietly.
"…That place isn't just a location."
Ryu tilted his head.
"…Feels like you're digging into something sealed."
Uro's gaze sharpened.
"…Memories tied to cursed remnants…"
Kashimo didn't comment, but his attention was fully there now.
Gojo finally spoke.
Calmer than expected.
"…You'll find it in Sendai's old residential district."
A pause.
"…But it's not what it used to be."
Takeru nodded.
"…Good."
Hakari raised an eyebrow.
"…Good?"
Takeru adjusted his stance slightly.
Not excited.
Not emotional.
Just steady.
"…If it's changed, I won't be walking into someone else's life."
Silence followed that.
Megumi looked at him for a moment.
"…You're not doing this for curiosity."
Takeru shook his head.
"…No."
A pause.
"…I'm doing it because I don't want to misunderstand anything again."
Gojo watched him for a second longer.
Then exhaled through his nose.
"…That's dangerously responsible of you."
Takeru didn't respond to that.
Just turned slightly toward the exit path.
"…Let's go."
And for once, nobody argued.
Because whatever was waiting in that place—
wasn't just history.
It was something unfinished.
