Chapter 6 - Silencing the Witness

Sarah didn't move; she couldn't. Her back was pressed so hard against the cold stone wall that it felt like she was trying to merge with the masonry.

Reth stepped out of the library, the heavy oak door clicking shut behind him with a final, heavy thud. He didn't rush toward her; he just stood there, adjusting his collar as if he hadn't just finished ruining the school's "Goddess."

"Did you enjoy the show, Sarah?" Reth asked, his voice echoing in the empty hallway.

Sarah's breath hitched, her fingers tightening around her phone until her knuckles turned white. She looked at the door, then back at Reth, her mind racing to process the "loser" she thought she knew.

Reth took a single step forward, and Sarah finally found her voice. "Reth... how? Elena... she's the Class Rep. If anyone finds out—"

"If anyone finds out, Elena's life is over," Reth interrupted, his smirk widening as he loomed over her. "But what about yours, Sarah? What happens to you if I decide you've seen too much?"

He reached out, his hand resting on the wall right next to her head, trapping her in his shadow. The $200 in his System wallet felt like a heavy weight, fueling a confidence he had never felt before.

Sarah looked down at her phone, her thumb hovering over the call button. "I... I should tell the teachers. This isn't right, Reth. You're different."

Reth didn't flinch. He just leaned back against the library door, crossing his arms with a calm, terrifying confidence that Sarah had never seen before.

"Go ahead, Sarah. Call whoever you want," Reth said, his voice smooth and cold. "Tell the teachers. Tell the Principal. Tell the whole school what you think you saw."

Sarah's thumb hovered over the call button, her breath hitching. She looked at him, confused by why a "nobody" like him wasn't begging for mercy.

"But think for a second," Reth continued, his smirk widening. "After what happened in the quiz today, do you really think anyone will believe you?"

He took a slow step toward her, his shadow swallowing her whole. "Do you think they'll believe a loser like me just fucked the untouchable Elena Vance in the library?"

Sarah opened her mouth to argue, but the words died in her throat. Reth was right; the story sounded impossible to anyone who knew Elena's status.

"No, Sarah. They won't believe a word," Reth whispered, leaning in close. "They'll just think you're making up a sick lie to get back at me because you got caught cheating."

He tapped the screen of her phone with one finger, pushing it down. "A jealous, failing student trying to ruin a classmate's life... that's the only story they'll hear."

Reth leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous vibration. "And think about this, Sarah. What happens if the Vance family hears you're spreading dirty rumors about Elena?"

Sarah's eyes went wide, her entire body beginning to tremble against the wall. She knew the Vance name—they didn't just own the school; they owned the city.

"You won't just be kicked out of this academy," Reth whispered, his smirk cutting deep. "Your family will suffer, too. Do you think your parents can handle that kind of enemy?"

The phone slipped from Sarah's numb fingers and clattered onto the floor. She collapsed to her knees, her face pale with pure terror.

"Please... please don't tell Elena anything!" Sarah sobbed, clutching at the hem of Reth's jacket. "I beg you! I'll do anything you say!"

She looked up at him, her eyes filled with desperation. "Just leave me out of this! I'll forget everything I saw today, I promise! It never happened!"

Reth looked down at the sobbing girl, his expression as cold as stone. He didn't offer her a hand to get up; he just let her stay there on her knees.

"If you want me to keep my mouth shut, you'll have to prove you're serious," Reth said, his voice echoing in the empty hallway.

Sarah looked up, her eyes red and pleading. "Anything... I told you, I'll do anything, just please don't tell the Vances."

Reth's smirk returned, sharper than ever. "Then prove it right here... take off your shirt."

Sarah froze, her breath catching in her throat as she looked around the hallway. The lights were flickering, and the silence of the school felt like it was pressing in on her.

"But... here? Anyone could walk by," she whispered, her hands trembling as they reached for the first button of her uniform.

"That's the point, Sarah," Reth countered, his eyes locked onto hers. "If you can't even do this, how can I trust you to keep a secret?"

The hallway felt colder as Sarah's fingers finally fumbled the last button. She pulled the fabric apart, her white school shirt falling open to reveal her matching lace bra.

Sobbing quietly, she let the shirt slide off her shoulders and down her arms. She stood there in the middle of the corridor, her chest heaving with every ragged breath.

Tears streamed down her face, blurring her vision as she looked at the floor. She thought the nightmare was over, that she had finally paid the price for what she saw in the library.

Reth didn't blink; he just watched her with a cold, detached intensity. He reached out and hooked a finger under her chin, forcing her tear-stained face upward.

"You think that's enough to buy my silence, Sarah?" Reth asked, his voice a low, dangerous silk.

Sarah's eyes went wide, her lower lip trembling as she looked at him in pure terror. "P-please... I did what you wanted. I... I'm standing here like this... isn't it enough?"

Reth's smirk returned, sharper and more predatory than before. The $700 in his System wallet seemed to pulse with power, fueling his next move.

"We're just getting started," Reth whispered, his shadow stretching unnaturally long behind him. "Now... take off your bra and get back on your knees."

Sarah's breath hitched, her eyes widening in disbelief as she clutched her arms across her chest. She was already standing in the middle of the school hallway with her shirt around her elbows, but Reth's eyes remained as cold as ever.

"P-please, Reth... I already did it," she whispered, her voice cracking as a fresh wave of tears blurred her vision. "I'm already standing here like this... isn't this enough for you?"

Reth didn't move, his shadow stretching unnaturally long under the flickering hallway lights. He just looked at her, his silence more terrifying than any shout.

"I don't remember asking for your opinion, Sarah," Reth said, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous vibration. "I told you to take off your bra."

Sarah looked down the long, empty corridor, terrified that a teacher or a student would turn the corner at any second. Her heart hammered against her ribs, the humiliation burning hotter than the cold air hitting her skin.

"If I have to say it a third time, I'm calling the Vance family," Reth added, his thumb hovering over his phone screen.

With a broken sob, Sarah reached behind her back, her fingers trembling so hard she could barely find the clasp. The click of the plastic echoed like a gunshot in the silent hallway.

She let the straps slide down her shoulders, her white lace bra falling to the floor and landing right next to her discarded shirt. She stood there completely exposed, her face buried in her hands as she tried to hide her shame from the "loser" who now ruled her life.

"Your's are smaller than elena's"

"How could you say that"

Reth slowly pulled his phone from his pocket, the lens catching the flickering light of the hallway. He didn't say a word as he raised the camera, aiming it directly at Sarah's exposed chest.

"No! Reth, please! Stop!" Sarah shrieked, her voice muffled by her own sobbing as she crossed her arms tightly over her boobs.

She tried to turn away, her face burning with a shame so deep it felt like a physical weight. But Reth just smirked, his eyes glowing with a faint, dark energy as he activated his new power.

[Skill Activated: Shadow Manipulation — Level 1]

Suddenly, the shadows at Sarah's feet surged upward like black silken ropes, coiling around her wrists. With a violent jerk, the shadows forced her arms back against the cold stone wall, pinning them wide open.

"Let go! Please! I cant move! It hurts!" Sarah begged, her body arching as she struggled against the invisible grip.

Reth didn't flinch; he just watched as her hands were held firmly away from her body, leaving her completely defenseless. He adjusted the focus on his phone, the digital shutter clicking repeatedly in the silent corridor.

"Now I have more than just a 'rumor' for the Vance family, Sarah," Reth said, showing her the crystal-clear photos on his screen. "If you ever think about talking, these go live on the school's forum in ten seconds."

Sarah collapsed as the shadows finally released her, her knees hitting the floor with a dull thud. She wrapped her arms around herself, but it was too late; the "loser" now owned her entire future.
