It had been dangerously close.
For a moment back there, I genuinely thought Alex was going to force the truth out of me. The way he had stared at me, the suspicion lingering in his eyes, the sharpness in his tone—it all made my chest tighten with tension. One wrong word, one wrong reaction, and everything could have fallen apart instantly.
And honestly…at that point, I was more than ready to kill him, because if I don't, he would.
So why would I bother to wait for my own death?
I didn't even care about the bigger picture anymore. Didn't care about consequences, plans, or the damage it would cause afterward.
The irritation he constantly stirred inside me had already reached its limit. Every second around him felt suffocating, and the thought of him digging into my private matters only made the rage inside me burn hotter.
