Lurgard.
I still had Alex firmly by the collar, my fingers refusing to loosen their grip.
Even so, my attention was no longer on him, as my eyes shifted toward Theresa.
Nathan was doing this on purpose, It was very obvious. He was deliberately putting her in an uncomfortable position, forcing her to respond in front of everyone.
The realization only irritated me further.
I wasn't enjoying this one bit.
With an annoyed scoff, I shoved Alex away from me. He staggered backward, struggling to regain his balance.
I was just about to step forward and speak on Theresa's behalf when she unexpectedly smiled. It wasn't a wide smile, it was just a calm, confident one.
Then, without the slightest hesitation, she took a slow step toward Nathan.
"Nathan Brown," she called softly, her voice gentle, yet it carried clearly throughout the silent hall.
Nathan immediately straightened, convinced she was finally about to answer him.
