I moved from the driver's seat to the passengers seat inside my parked car, my chest heaving as I clutched my phone so tightly my knuckles turned white.

He had promised me that he would handle this, he had promised that he wouldn't let those iron bars touch me. I mean, with the way I had sounded, and spoken to him, he would fulfil those promises, but the icy grip of fear was squeezing my heart so hard I could barely catch my breath.
