Chapter 2 - IT'S TIME

Weeks went by…

___

November 13

I barely slept the night before my birthday, every time I closed my eyes, I heard the whisper again.

"Aurora…"Soft, Distant, almost like the stars themselves were calling my name. It's 4am in the morning i gave up trying to sleep actually i didn't sleep all night , November 13 i am finally eighteen. The date I waited for my entire life had finally arrived.

But instead of excitement…Im freaking terrified,Because today! my mother was finally going to tell me the truth.

And deep inside… I knew my life would never be the same after it.

I slowly sat up and reached for the silver star necklace resting on my bedside table.

My father's necklace, the same necklace I secretly took from the dusty box years ago, the metal felt strangely warm against my fingers.

For a second, I thought I saw something glow faintly beneath the darkness of the sky

I froze.

Then it disappeared.

"…Okay," I whispered nervously. "That's new."

A loud bang suddenly hit my window

"Aurora!" Jonas shouted dramatically from outside the window. "Wake up, birthday girl!"

I blinked in confusion before rushing toward the curtains.

"What the—"

I pulled them open.

Jonas stood outside holding a plastic bag of snacks while Aira stood beside him holding a tiny cake with candles already lit.

It was still dark outside.

"You two are insane?!! ," I said

Aira grinned. "Happy birthday!"

Jonas pointed proudly at the cake. "I almost died carrying this without dropping it." i smiled while looking at them "You bought a cake at four in the morning?" i shouted

"Correction," Jonas said. "Aira forced me to buy a cake at four in the morning." i gave them a questionable look "I said it builds character."

"You almost made me fight a stray dog." I laughed for the first time in days,,, a real laugh and somehow, hearing it made my chest feel lighter… a little.

I quietly opened the window and let them climb inside before my mother could wake up and murder all three of us.

The tiny candles flickered softly while Aira placed the cake on my desk.

Eighteen.

The number suddenly felt unreal jonas crossed his arms dramatically "So," he said, "do you feel wiser?" he asked "No." i said and smirked "More mature?" he asked with a sarcastic voice "No." i answer and rolled my eyes "More emotionally stable?" i almost slap him "Absolutely not."

Aira snorted, Jonas placed a hand over his heart. "Beautiful. She's still the same disaster."

I rolled my eyes then Aira's smile softened slightly.

"So…" she said carefully. "Today's the day." The room suddenly felt quieter, I looked down at the necklace still resting in my hand."…Yeah."

Jonas sat beside me on the bed. "You nervous?" I hesitated "Honestly?"i look at him "Always." i swallowed slowly. "I feel like something bad is waiting for me."

Neither of them laughed this time because lately…they noticed it too,,, the strange things happening around me.

The lights flickering.

The sudden cold winds.

The way I'd randomly stare into space after hearing whispers nobody else could hear.

Even my dreams were getting worse… aira gently squeezed my shoulder. "Whatever happens," she said softly, "you're not alone."

My chest tightened painfully i smiled weakly "Thanks." For a moment, none of us spoke only the sound of rain filled the room

then suddenly-

the candles went out ALL AT FREAKING ONCE! darkness swallowed the room instantly jonas frowned. "Okay, that was creepy." A cold wind swept through my bedroom despite the windows being closed.

The necklace in my hand suddenly burned hot and i gasped quietly.

"Aurora?" Aira looked at me carefully but before I could answer— the lights outside the house flickered violently.

Then every light in town went dark the entire neighborhood disappeared into blackness. Jonas slowly stood up. "Please tell me this isn't another weird Aurora moment." Thunder exploded outside and for one horrifying second the stars above the ocean glowed gold.

Not white.

Gold.

The same color as my eyes in certain lighting my breathing stopped because the stars were moving again,,, Slowly,,, deliberately.

Like they were gathering around something around me but then a sharp pain suddenly shot through my chest i grabbed the edge of the desk immediately.

"Aurora!"

Aira rushed toward me as the pain spread through my entire body like fire beneath my skin. I couldn't breathe.

The necklace glowed brightly now bright enough to illuminate the darkness around us, jonas stared at it in horror.

"What the hell—"

Voices suddenly filled my head hundreds of them whispering all at once.

"The princess…"

"She awakened…"

"Find her…"

I covered my ears desperately

"Stop…"

The whispers only grew louder

Then…

everything went silent completely silent even the rain stopped my heart pounded violently as I slowly looked toward the window.

Something stood outside the house far beyond the cliffs near the ocean.

A figure

Tall

Covered in darkness

Watching me fear crawled up my spine and then the figure's eyes suddenly glowed red beneath the rain and a voice echoed inside my head.

Deep

Ancient

Terrifying

"We finally found you."

A scream escaped my throat suddenly, the bedroom door burst open my mother rushed inside looking terrified the moment she saw the glowing necklace around my neck

her expression shattered.

"No…" she whispered.

The figure outside vanished instantly the stars returned to normal and the rain finally began falling again.

My mother looked at me like the world was ending then she whispered the words I had waited my entire life to hear.

"It's time."

My chest tightened the room felt too small too quiet too real slowly, my mother walked toward the old wooden closet inside my room and reached beneath it.

Then she pulled out something wrapped carefully in black cloth.

A box the same dusty wooden box I found years ago.

Only this time… she was finally opening it herself my hands trembled Jonas and Aira stood frozen behind me while my mother carefully placed the box onto the bed.

Inside rested old photographs, silver letters, strange glowing crystals.

I stared at it breathlessly.

My mother's eyes filled with tears then finally after eighteen years of silence she looked directly at me and whispered:

"You're not fully human, Aurora."

My mother's hands trembled as she held the glowing necklace carefully between her fingers the silver star resting at the center pulsed softly like it was alive.

Jonas and Aira stayed completely silent behind me, too shocked to even speak.

I could barely breathe

"What… do you mean I'm not fully human?" I whispered my mother closed her eyes for a moment like the words physically hurt her to say.

Then finally, she looked at me.

"Your father wasn't human, Aurora." The room went still slowly, my mother look at me

"A long time ago," she began quietly, "beyond the reaches of Earth, countless constellations thrived under the rule of celestial beings known as the Galaxy People." Her voice almost sounded distant.

"Immortal guardians born from starlight itself."

The glowing crystals suddenly shimmered faintly as she spoke.

"Among them was the ruler of all constellations… King Fullcrest."

The moment she said his name, the necklace around my neck glowed brighter Jonas stared at it nervously.

My mother continued.

"He was feared for his power and admired for his wisdom. But peace across the galaxies ended when a race of dark conquerors rose from the void."

As she spoke, I could almost picture it burning planets falling stars the other constellations swallowed by darkness.

"A terrible war began," she whispered. "Your father fought to protect his people. But during the final battle, he was badly wounded and cast down to Earth."

I stared at her silently.

"He lost all his memories when he fell into the sea." Her eyes softened painfully. "And… I was the one who found him." I saw tears forming in her eyes. "I didn't know who he was. He didn't even know himself. But despite everything… we fell in love."

The room remained silent except for the storm outside "For years, we lived peacefully. He was kind, gentle… nothing like a king. Then one night, his memories returned."

Her voice cracked slightly.

"He remembered the war. His kingdom. His people." i swallowed hard "And me?" I asked quietly my mother looked directly at me.

"We discovered I was pregnant with you."my chest tightened "He wanted to stay," she whispered. "But billions of lives were depending on him."

She carefully placed the necklace into my shaking hands "Before he left, he gave me this necklace. He said it belonged to the royal bloodline of the Galaxy People." The silver star suddenly glowed warmly beneath my fingers.

"He warned me never to let you wear it until your eighteenth birthday." A cold chill ran down my spine. "Why?" My mother hesitated.

"Because the necklace seals your celestial powers." The room went silent again i stared at her in horror. "You mean…"

"Yes," she whispered. "The moment you touched it… your powers awakened." Suddenly, everything made sense.

The whispers

The glowing stars

The strange dreams

The cold winds

The flickering lights

It was all real…

"You're the daughter of King Fullcrest, Aurora," my mother said softly but i couldn't speak my entire life shattered apart in seconds… soo magic is real.

Jonas looked completely pale while Aira stood frozen beside the desk "But if Dad is alive…" I whispered shakily, "where is he now?"

My mother's expression darkened "I don't know." Fear slowly crawled into my chest again.

"The enemies that destroyed the other galaxies and constellations and been searching for the chosen one" she continued. "and that's you… " Her voice trembled "They will come for you." Almost instantly, thunder exploded outside the house the lights flickered violently again.

" WAIT HOW DID THEY FOUND ME?! " i asked while my heart is beating soo fast." Before your father left us, he put his hands on my belly and cast a magic enough to protect us and hid us but now you turned 18 the magic spell is weak now because this time…. "my mother hesitated first." this time… it's time for you to protect yourself " what...
