Robin dreamt of a world, a world where the deepest hells touch the highest skies and the highest heavens touch the darkest of crevices. It was an inverted world, and the sky was like a shallow surface. But something was different. A dark figure loomed over Robin as she lay on the flour. Most people would run at the sight of a dark figure in a dream world that felt too real, but not in these situations. It was like a heavy load or a pressure that could only be exerted by a god.
"Detective", said the strange man.
"The...the...the hell are you!"
"Do not fear Robin Murek; I only require assistance."
"It's a dream, he isn't real, he isn't..."
"I said I require assistance, Detective, not a paranoid grown-up."
Said the figure with glowing white eyes and a face like midnight while holding a wooden cane.
"What the hell are you?" Said Robin, distancing herself from the man.
"The god of the dream world and the one who's been keeping track of you when you're in dream state."
"Tracking? What the hell do you mean, tra..."
"You have a peculiar soul. You're able to conjure up your own dream world in my domain. Well, using my power of course."
Looking at the palm of his hand as a confused Robin still on the sky ground, trying to process what was going on. "I could run, but where? Everything here is flat with zero structures. Plus, if he is the god of this world, it would explain all the weird dreams." She thinks to herself, slowly calming down with her hostility still present in her eyes.
"I need assistance, strange detective."
"Wait, strange, you brought me here, weirdo, and why the hell should I help y..."
"You got fired," Said the strange man, peeking a little bit of Robin's attention.
"You take antidepressants and leave a sloppy life. You have no parents, and everyone calls you paranoid and crazy. You believe in supernatural forces as a coping mechanism to explain the events that occur in the dream world. I didn't bring you here; you did."
He says to a stunned Robin, acknowledging his words as true.
"Ok, then how did I come here?" Asked a curious Robin, bringing her head up to meet the strange man's gaze.
"Your soul. It's stronger than the regular people of your earth."
"My earth?" She asks, confused by his meaning.
"There are two earths. Your earth, the one where spiritual forces are close to 0%, and earth two, a world resembling yours but where the presence of supernatural phenomena is extremely high. There are other differences like technology, history, culture and..."
"Wait, wait, wait, so it's a magical world with weird stuff."
"You could say that, but not everyone in the world is aware of the supernatural since most of them lack the sense of the supernatural.
Except for a rare number of people with special abilities tied to the soul like you, Robin.
