Chapter 29 - Compromise

The next day, Adventurers Guild headquarters.

It was already the afternoon, and the number of Adventurers was much lower than at peak hours.

At the counter, a short girl with peach-colored hair let out a wail.

"Eina! Help me!"

At the neighboring window sat a well-proportioned female elf.

Hearing her good friend's plea for help, Eina pushed up her glasses and turned her gaze toward her.

"What's wrong?"

"There are too many documents, I can't finish processing them."

Misha wore a pitiful expression.

"Help me, Eina."

"Don't count on me; I haven't even finished processing my own documents yet."

Eina raised both hands to make an X.

Although it doesn't seem obvious on a daily basis, the Adventurers Guild actually controls the operation of all of Orario.

As a member of the Adventurers Guild, Eina has many things to do.

Helping new Adventurers register and guiding them to make the right choices is just one of them.

When large events are held in Orario, Eina also has to participate.

For example, the War Game between the Soma Familia and the Hestia Familia yesterday; she was responsible for preparing the flags in that ancient city ruin.

Furthermore, after the War Game began, she kept patrolling several popular viewing spots in Orario, assisting the Ganesha Familia in maintaining Order.

After a day's work, the documents waiting to be processed in Eina's hands increased significantly.

Now, let alone helping, it's a question of whether she can finish before getting off work.

"Huh? Eina, look! Lynn is here!"

Just then, Misha, who had just been asking for help, suddenly pointed to a spot not far away.

"Lynn?"

Eina paused, looking toward the hall.

The next second, a black-haired youth wearing casual clothes appeared in her line of sight.

"Good afternoon, Eina."

Lynn waved to greet her.

"Good afternoon, Lynn."

Eina walked out from behind the counter to respond.

She and Lynn were not strangers.

When Lynn received his Falna over half a month ago and came to the Adventurers Guild to register his information, the person who handled the registration for him was Eina.

"Are you here for a level determination?"

"Yeah, your Higher-Ups are quite anxious; I just got back a day ago and they already sent a letter."

Lynn took a letter out from his chest pocket and waved it.

It is not uncommon for Adventurers to conceal their actual level in Orario.

Because the situation is too complex, many times even if the Adventurers Guild knows, they will turn a blind eye and selectively ignore it.

But this time it's different; Lynn displayed strength inconsistent with his level in full view of everyone.

The gods were curious about Lynn's true strength, so they jointly pressured the Adventurers Guild to request a level determination.

Facing the demands of the gods, the Adventurers Guild naturally dared not be negligent.

On the second day of Lynn's return, the Higher-Ups sent a letter asking him to come to the Pantheon.

"By the way, is your guild master here?"

"Guild master? He should be."

Eina was a bit uncertain.

She was just a low-level employee and didn't have the qualifications to know the whereabouts of the guild master.

"Lynn, what do you need the guild master for?"

"Regarding the disposal of Soma, there are some things that need to be negotiated with him."

"I understand."

Eina nodded and brought Lynn to the reception room to sit down.

"Wait here for a moment, I'll go contact the Higher-Ups right away."

Eina left the room and turned to run toward the depths of the Adventurers Guild.

A moment later, a stout middle-aged elf walked in from outside with Eina.

"Nice to meet you, Lynn."

The middle-aged elf sat down opposite Lynn: "I am the guild master, Royman Mardeel. You can call me Royman or Guild Master Royman. I heard from Eina that you have something to discuss with me?"

"There is something, but before that, let's do the level determination first."

Lynn took off his upper garment and turned around to reveal the Falna on his back.

The Falna can be locked.

Before coming to the Adventurers Guild, Hestia personally took action and placed a lock on Lynn's Falna.

At this moment, under the effect of the lock, Lynn's ability values as well as skills and magic were shielded.

The only information revealed was his name and level.

By interpreting the Sacred Script, Eina and Royman quickly finished deciphering it.

[YukimuraLynn — LV.1]

"Huh?"

Looking at this unexpected result, a look of confusion appeared on Eina's face.

This... this isn't right, is it?

" Why is Lynn really a Level 1? "

" This is truly astonishing. "

A bead of cold sweat rolled down Royman's forehead.

Because Lynn's performance in the War Game was so stunning, he, like the other gods, believed that he had hidden his true level.

But at this moment, the cold reality was laid out before him.

No matter how much Royman couldn't believe it, he had to admit one thing.

Lynn had not hidden his level; he really was a Level 1.

A Level 1 who could one-shot a Level 2 while surrounded by the Soma Familia.

" Does this count as completing the level assessment? " Lynn's inquiry came.

" Yes, that will do. "

Royman did not dare to be negligent and quickly nodded in response: " Thank you for your cooperation, Lynn. "

" It's nothing. After all, I don't want to be pestered by a bunch of gods asking about my true strength every day. "

Putting his clothes back on, Lynn sat down on the sofa and looked at the opposite side.

" Since the level assessment is over, let's talk about business. "

" Regarding Soma, the Hestia Familia wants to take him in as a subordinate god. "

" A subordinate god? "

Royman's expression turned serious.

Although Lynn's exceptional strength made him feel a certain degree of awe.

But business is business; something like a subordinate god cannot be agreed to so easily.

" Lynn, you should know what recruiting a subordinate god in Orario implies, right? "

" I know. That's why the Hestia Familia will transition into a business-oriented Familia, limiting our growth in combat power and focusing on making money. "

Lynn pulled out a pre-prepared business plan from his pocket: " With the recipes I've developed and the divine liquor produced by Soma as our core selling points, I am confident in making Hestia Restaurant a new landmark in Orario. "

" Hestia Restaurant... "

Royman fell into a brief silence.

As the Guild Master, he was well aware of how powerful the divine liquor of the Soma Familia was.

If the Hestia Familia wanted to use the divine liquor as a selling point, they could indeed develop as a business-oriented Familia.

However, what did that have to do with him, Royman?

Even if the Hestia Familia developed, there was no benefit for him.

Rather than risking a dispute by agreeing to let the Hestia Familia recruit Soma as a subordinate god, it was better to just refuse directly.

" Royman, my stats are already maxed out, and I will soon break through to Level 2. "

Seeming to see through Royman's thoughts, Lynn's voice rang out again.

" Do you know how much time has passed since I first entered the Dungeon until now? "

" How much time? "

" Ten days. "

" Huh? " Royman froze for a moment.

The next second, he seemed to realize what Lynn had said and jumped to his feet.

" Could it be that you only used ten days to reach your current power?! "

" That's right. I possess a growth acceleration skill, which allows me to max out my stats in a very short time. "

Lynn appropriately revealed some of his trump cards: " With this skill combined with my strength, you should understand how fast my leveling speed will be. "

"... "

He understood that all too well.

With the growth acceleration skill, Lynn could quickly accumulate sufficient stats.

Coupled with his unreasonable level of combat experience, accumulating high-level experience was also nothing.

If the efficiency was high enough, it was very possible for Lynn to break through to Level 5 within a year.

If there were no accidents, the other party might even surpass Ottar in the future and become the new strongest.

Thinking of this, Royman's expression became unprecedentedly serious.

" Lynn, can you guarantee that your growth acceleration skill will always be effective? "

" Of course, I can. "

" Then let's make a deal. "

Royman said: " I can agree to let the Hestia Familia recruit a subordinate god. "

" In exchange, I need your help with the subjugation of the Black Dragon and the conquest of the Dungeon. "

" One request for two conditions? You really are a shrewd businessman. "

Lynn rolled his eyes: " If you want my help, you should at least show some sincerity. "

"...Then propose another condition. As long as it's not too outrageous, I can agree. "

" Give me two plots of land with high foot traffic, and help me renovate the restaurant. "

" Very well. "

Royman breathed a sigh of relief.

Although this condition was a bit expensive, money was the one thing he didn't lack.

Anything that could be solved with money wasn't a problem.

" Huh? "

The conversation ended, and Royman finally remembered there was a third person present.

He looked at Eina, who was looking down at the ground, trying to minimize her presence.

Royman was silent for a moment, then pulled a black card from his pocket and tossed it over.

" Eina, you've been promoted. "
