Chapter 113 - Chapter 113: Meta-Humans

Charles asked with a serious look rarely seen in him, which attracted Jean's attention.

She looked at Jason like a hawk, along with the others, though their gazes were more subtle.

"A bald woman in yellow clothes helped me," he said, making Charles' eyes widen, but then he pretended not to notice.

The others did not understand.

He told him that so Charles would not bother him trying to figure out how he had obtained one or something. Besides, it might complicate things for the Ancient One.

"I understand," Charles said with a faraway look in his eyes.

"I would like to ask you a question, if I may..." Jean said, attracting everyone's attention.

"I like strawberry, but I am more of a chocolate person," he said, making Jean look confused, as did everyone else except Charles, who was in his own world, and Logan, who seemed to be asleep standing up.

Seeing her confused face, he subtly ran his fingers over his lips, making her blush and unconsciously lick them, which intensified the blush.

Rogue smiled like a cat.

"I would like to know what this Meta-Human thing is," Jean said, drawing the attention of almost everyone except two, one controlled and one half asleep.

"I am surprised that with two brilliant minds they did not already know this," he said, pointing at Charles and Hank.

"Basically, the term mutant is the most incredible piece of stupidity ever created. Whoever came up with it should be taken and drowned in acid. Hank, correct me if I am wrong, but a mutation is a variation in a person's cells or genes.

Sometimes mutations occur due to errors during cell division or exposure to substances, including environmental ones, that damage DNA. These mutations can be harmful. They can have a favorable or negative effect. And from what I remember, both Parker and Stark benefited from their mutations."

When Hank processed this, his eyes widened and he hit his forehead.

Charles hid a pained expression as he realized where Jason was going with it. The others did not understand much.

Rogue seemed as if she had been given the Big Bang theory to study and explain.

"Which leads to the question you are subconsciously asking yourselves: does this make a large majority of people mutants? My answer would be that Peter Parker and Anthony Stark are geniuses unlike anything seen before, and possibly the most intelligent people of this era, which is due to a slight mutation in their brains that makes them more intelligent."

Those who had not understood before now opened their eyes upon understanding his point of view.

"Another reason is that the term mutant is already associated with something that is not very nice, to say the least. I suppose many of you have seen films," he said, making almost everyone nod.

"The definition of mutant is associated with deformed, ugly, creepy creatures, and almost all of these creatures belong to the horror genre where a group of friends is killed by a bad guy.

In simple terms, when humans think of the word mutant, the first thing that will probably come to mind is Friday the 13th, or in other words, they fear you because they think you will be Jason Voorhees.

In another definition, do not bring Kurt out if you do not want to end up with a mob of people with torches and pitchforks."

He ended his explanation, leaving more than one person feeling like an idiot.

Hank was slapping himself with the palm of his hand.

Charles, Ororo, Jean, and Rogue rubbed their foreheads at this revelation.

Logan had a small smile on his face, along with Ororo and Charles, while Jean and Rogue wore thoughtful expressions.

"A very interesting way of seeing things, Sugah," Rogue said, supported by almost everyone, especially Charles and Hank.

"Now for Red's question," he said, making Jean frown slightly at the nickname, which caused funny faces in almost everyone, making her frown deepen.

"The term Meta-Human is very simple. Meta refers to 'Beyond.' Adding this prefix, we can say in a way that you have abilities beyond human limits and understanding."

"Thank you for answering my question," Jean said.

"You are welcome, Red. I could give a better explanation, but that would take a lot of time, and there are not many people as interested in the subject as Hank or the Professor," he said, receiving a nod from them.

"Well, we have been off on a tangent for too long. Let us get down to business, hairy one. I have what you want, but first, my payment."

Logan woke up and looked at him. He took a metal cylinder out of his back pocket and threw it at Jason, who caught it and put it in one of his pockets.

"There you have it. Now for my beer. I have waited a long time."

"What was the payment?" Hank asked.

"His blood. It was to study something in his genome.

Maybe that can solve some problems in mine. And no, I will not give any answers," he said, cutting off Ororo and Hank.

Charles did not need to ask because he already knew what it was, and he knew Jason was lying.

But if he had not done anything so far, it was because he would let him go.

"The only thing you need to know is that if Logan entrusted it to me, it is for a reason, and I am not a mad scientist. I am just looking for answers. Well, this is yours," he said, taking a single-use Nanocube out of his pocket, unfolding it. Six packs of beer appeared on the floor, and Logan's eyes widened with happiness.

'You old drunk, green, smoking man.'

"Well, that is all. So I am off. Nice to meet you all."

"Are you leaving already? So soon?" Rogue and Jean said simultaneously.

"Yes. Today is my mandatory day off and I want to relax."

"Mandatory day off?" Ororo asked.

"Some colleagues forced me to rest, so I took this opportunity to bring Logan his things," he said while looking at Logan, who was ignoring everyone and enjoying his beer.

"And if I go, girls, I plan to go to the mall near here. I want to relax a little and have some fun."

"Oh," they said in a disappointed tone.

"Girls, were you not going to the mall?" Ororo said. "Maybe your new friend could take you if it is not too much trouble. Then he could pick you up or bring you back."

When they heard Ororo, the girls looked at him and he just shrugged like a man who did not particularly mind.

"The more the merrier. That is what the saying goes," he said.

Both girls grabbed him and pulled him out of the room.

He managed to hear the last thing Storm said.

"Professor, why did you want to enter a person's head without consent?" she said as she turned around to look at him and slight lightning appeared in her hand, making Hank and Logan shudder, and Charles tremble slightly.

Once he was far enough away he ignored everything that was happening in that room.
