Chapter 122 - Chapter 122: Three Super Spiders Suitable for Ben, May, and Gwen!

Aside from the appearance of War Machine, there were only two other things that Ryan was somewhat or very concerned about.

First, it was Peter's new friend, Ned, who had accidentally discovered the secret of the Spider Family.

The discovery was simply a result of Peter's carelessness; Ned accidentally found the spider mask in his backpack, revealing that Peter was Spider-Man. There wasn't much else to it.

What Ryan was more concerned about was that this little chubby guy, Ned, was not only a skilled hacker—capable of even cracking Tony's suit systems in the cinematic Universe—but also a genius in the magic arts, able to casually open Kamar-Taj portal magic without any prior training.

Overall, Ned was a talent worth befriending, so Ryan wasn't angry that Peter had exposed his identity to him. Instead, he invited Ned to become the support personnel for the Spider Family.

The second thing Ryan was very concerned about was the space teleportation device that Tony and Peter had been building over the past two months.

According to Tony, he and Peter had already built the first-generation prototype of the space teleportation device. However, perhaps because the space energy from his new element reactor was impure, they were consistently unable to achieve the goal of opening a stable space portal.

If there were a more powerful and stable source of space energy, Tony was confident he could keep a stable space portal open for a long time.

To this, Ryan couldn't help but exclaim that it was like being handed a pillow just as he was getting sleepy.

He had been wondering how he would open a portal to Jotunheim once he seized the Tesseract.

Was he supposed to let Dr. Erik slowly build one like in the first Avengers movie?

But now Tony had delivered a finished product. Although the device he built to bring Ryan back from Jotunheim hadn't succeeded in its original purpose, it could be used to send him back there again, or even open a permanent portal connecting to Jotunheim!

And the only cost was for him to get the Tesseract!

However, a month had passed by now, and Ryan still hadn't actually gotten his hands on the Tesseract.

It wasn't that he wasn't in a hurry; in fact, as soon as he learned from Tony about the finished teleportation device, he immediately went to the Triskelion, the headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D.

But he didn't find any sign of Nick Fury in the Triskelion.

And it wasn't just Nick Fury himself; his confidants—Deputy Director Hill, Hawkeye Barton, Coulson, and the others—were also nowhere to be found inside the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.

Ryan had randomly found a few high-level S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent and used the Symbiote to read their memories, learning that ever since the Frost Giant invasion two months ago, Nick Fury had taken his team to carry out a top-secret project of the highest classification. Not even these high-level Agent knew where Nick Fury was... So, unable to find his target, Ryan had no choice but to set aside the matter of the Tesseract for now and focus on another major task.

That was the cracking of the gene lock on the Super Spiders.

And Ryan's previous claim that he was more of a genius than Peter and Dr. Connors wasn't just empty boasting.

In just half a month, Ryan had completely cracked the Parker Family gene lock that Peter's father, Richard, had integrated into the Super Spiders!

But after cracking the gene lock of the Super Spiders, Ryan didn't choose to directly cultivate unlocked Super Spiders that could turn anyone into a Spider-Man.

Instead, he added new gene locks to two Super Spiders that had the Parker Family gene lock removed.

Those were the gene locks for May and Gwen!

In other words, these two Super Spiders could only be used by Gwen and May!

After another half-month of rigorous testing to confirm that the Super Spiders with their gene locks would only grant them the same Spider Abilities as Peter without causing any mutations, Ryan finally intended to give the Super Spiders to May and Gwen.

Of course, there was also Ben.

However, since Ben was Richard's biological brother, Ryan didn't need to create a specialized Super Spider for him.

And today was the grand day to bestow Spider Abilities upon the three of them!

In the underground laboratory of the new Parker Family home, the entire Parker Family was currently present, while Ben, May, and Gwen each held a glass box containing a Super Spider.

The three of them looked at the Super Spiders in their hands with varying expressions.

Gwen was full of anticipation, Ben was excited, and May seemed a bit... disgusted?

May looked at the spider in her hand and turned to Ryan with a grimace. "Son, does it really have to bite me? Is there any other way to get those Spider Abilities you mentioned?"

Ryan shrugged.

"Of course there is. I could extract the Venom from the Super Spider that alters your genes and inject it into your bodies with a needle. However, after my continuous experimental testing and simulations over the past half-month, I've found that letting it bite you directly is the most effective method."

Ben put his arm around May, who still looked somewhat resistant, and comforted her.

"Don't worry, May. Trust our son. We'll definitely be fine, and soon we'll be able to become Superhero just like the kids!"

Hearing this, Ryan reached out and cut Ben off, saying with deadpan eyes:

"Let me clarify beforehand: I created these specialized Super Spiders to grant you superhuman abilities not so you can go out and fight crime like Peter and Harry. The Spider Family is enough for New York. At your age, don't try to be heroes; just use these abilities to protect yourselves."

"Of course, Gwen is the exception. Gwen is still young. Once you get your abilities, I won't interfere with whatever you want to do. But you two old folks? No way!"

Seeing Ryan's serious expression, Ben and May finally compromised.

They had actually just been talking; they knew in their hearts that at their age, even if they gained the same abilities as Peter and the others, they certainly wouldn't be as capable as the younger generation.

Being able to use these abilities for self-preservation and not becoming a burden to the children would be the greatest help they could provide to the kids out there serving justice on the front lines!

As the three of them nodded to Ryan in understanding, Ben, being the man, took the initiative to be the first to open his box and release the Super Spider inside.

The red and black Super Spider crawled onto Ben's hand. It turned its head in a strangely human-like manner to look at Ben, whose eyes were full of anticipation, and then bit him right on the webbing of his hand!

"Father, how do you feel?" Harry had already stepped up behind Ben, and Venom's head poked out from his hand, ready to enter Ben's body at any moment to keep him alive if necessary.

Ben looked at the Super Spider in his hand, which had died as if it had fulfilled its mission right after biting him. He looked a bit regretful. "I'm fine, but it's a pity I didn't even get a chance to say thank you before it died...
