When Yalini regains consciousness, she slowly and gradually finds herself lying on a hospital bed, feeling weak and disoriented, her body still heavy from the sudden shock and exhaustion, her senses slowly trying to come back to normal, as if she is returning from a distant place, far away from reality.
Looking around carefully, trying to adjust her vision and understand her surroundings clearly, she sees her mother, father, and Reha standing there beside her, their faces filled with deep worry, concern, and relief at the same time, their eyes fixed on her as they silently wait for her to speak or react.
Her mother is standing very close beside her, crying softly, unable to hold back her emotions, her eyes red and swollen from tears, her hands slightly trembling as she looks at her daughter.
"What happened, Mom? Why are you crying? And how did I come here?" Yalini asks in a confused and weak voice, trying to understand the situation, her voice trembling slightly, her words coming out slowly and with effort.
Reha says, taking a small step forward, her expression serious yet gentle, her tone calm and careful, choosing her words properly,
"You had fainted on the road and fell in front of a car. While trying to save you, the driver lost control and crashed into a pole. People on the road brought both of you to the hospital, and from your ID card, the hospital informed your family. Luckily, both of you survived. You didn't suffer much injury, but that gentleman's one leg has been badly damaged, and his condition was serious for some time."
"Where is he now?
Can I meet him?" Yalini asks, her voice filled with concern, guilt, and a sense of responsibility, her eyes searching for answers and her mind filled with uneasiness.
"No, it's not possible to meet him right now. He is unconscious, and the doctor has not allowed anyone to go there," Reha replies gently, trying to keep her calm and composed, her voice soft and steady.
Yalini's father says in a firm yet caring tone, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her and make her feel safe,
"Come, let's go home. The doctor has discharged you, and it's already very late at night. You need proper rest. Let's go home now."
Yalini and everyone slowly return home together, moving quietly, the night around them calm and silent, the road mostly empty, with only a few distant lights visible.
It is 11:15 at night, and the surroundings are quiet and still, with only faint sounds in the distance, creating a peaceful yet heavy atmosphere that feels slightly suffocating.
Yalini goes to her room silently and then goes to take a bath. She turns on the shower and stands under it for a long time, letting the water fall continuously over her, thinking deeply about everything bad that happened to her today, every single moment replaying in her mind again and again, refusing to leave her thoughts, as if her mind cannot let go of those painful memories.
While she is thinking continuously, lost completely in her own world, someone suddenly knocks on the door, breaking the stillness of the moment.
The sound of the knock breaks her chain of thoughts abruptly, bringing her back to reality, making her pause for a moment.
"Who?" Yalini asks in a slightly tired and low voice, her tone slow and heavy.
"It's me," her mother's voice comes softly from the other side of the door, filled with concern and care.
"Coming, Mom," she replies, taking a deep breath before moving.
After a while, Yalini comes out of the bathroom, wiping her wet hair slowly. She changes her clothes quietly and goes downstairs to the dining table where her parents are already waiting for her, sitting silently and watching her.
While eating, her parents notice that Yalini is not eating anything properly, just moving the food around on her plate absentmindedly, clearly lost in thought, her mind somewhere far away.
Seeing this, her father was about to say something, but her mother gently stops him with a look, understanding her daughter's emotional state and pain.
"Why aren't you eating? Eat properly," her mother says to her with concern and care, watching her closely.
"Hm… I am eating," Yalini replies softly, trying to avoid eye contact, forcing herself to take a few small bites slowly.
After eating only a little, Yalini slowly goes back to her room without saying much. As soon as she lies down on the bed, all the exhaustion of the entire day surrounds her completely, making her feel extremely tired, both physically and emotionally, and she falls asleep almost instantly, without even realizing it.
The next morning, Yalini's mother quietly comes into her room and gently strokes her head with care and affection, watching her daughter with concern and silent love.
At that moment, Yalini slowly wakes up, her eyes opening gradually, adjusting to the light in the room.
"Mom, you?" she says, still half-asleep, her voice soft and slow.
Yalini looks at the clock and sees that it is already 10 o'clock. She immediately becomes tense and anxious, her expression changing quickly.
She hurriedly gets up from the bed and says in a rushed and panicked voice,
"Why didn't you wake me up earlier? They won't even let me enter the office now!"
Yalini's mother holds her hand gently and pulls her back to sit on the bed, stopping her from rushing unnecessarily.
"Mom, what are you doing? Let go, I am already late!" Yalini says impatiently, trying to get up again in a hurry.
"Sit here. Today is Sunday," her mother replies calmly, a slight, gentle smile on her face.
Yalini slaps her forehead lightly, realizing her mistake suddenly.
"Oh, I completely forgot.
Sorry."
Her mother says softly, sitting beside her, her tone comforting and warm,
"Don't bring unnecessary thoughts into your mind. Focus on your work. And believe in destiny."
Yalini looks at her mother with a questioning and slightly confused expression, her brows slightly furrowed.
"Mom, is this my destiny?" she asks quietly, her voice reflecting her inner confusion and emotional struggle.
"Maybe," her mother replies in a calm and thoughtful tone, not dismissing her feelings at all.
"You are only seeing the bad side. You are not seeing the good side even once," her mother adds gently, trying to guide her thinking and make her understand.
"What do you mean?" Yalini asks, still confused, looking directly at her mother.
"Look, yesterday you had an accident. Anything could have happened to you, something very serious could have occurred, but nothing major happened to you. But the man who tried to save you—see how badly he got hurt. I heard that one of his hands is also fractured along with his leg injury."
Hearing this from her mother, Yalini immediately remembers that man and everything that happened, the moment flashing back clearly in her mind again.
"Mom, can I go and see him once?" Yalini asks sincerely, feeling a sense of responsibility and concern growing inside her.
"Yes, of course you should. He suffered so much because of you," her mother replies without hesitation, agreeing immediately.
"Alright, then I'll get ready, have breakfast, and go to the hospital with Reha," Yalini says and goes to the washroom to freshen up, preparing herself mentally as well.
After getting ready properly and eating breakfast, she takes her phone and calls Reha without delay.
Yalini: "Hello."
Reha: "Yes, tell me. How are you feeling now? I called your mom in the morning to check on you."
Yalini: "I'm fine now. Listen, are you free right now?"
Reha: "Yes, why?"
Yalini: "Then will you come with me to the hospital to meet that man?"
Reha: "Okay, you come to my house first, then we'll go from here together."
Yalini says, "Alright."
Then she cuts the call.
After some time, Yalini reaches Reha's house, and from there both of them leave together and head towards the hospital, talking very little on the way, both lost in their own thoughts and silence.
On the way, Yalini stops for a moment at a small shop and buys a beautiful bouquet of fresh roses for that man, holding it carefully in her hands, as if it carries her unspoken apology, her silent emotions, and her guilt.
After reaching the hospital, they walk through the quiet and slightly cold corridors and go straight to room number 302 to meet him, their footsteps echoing softly in the empty hallway.
As soon as she slowly enters the room, Yalini's eyes meet the man's eyes.
A young, beautiful girl holding a bouquet of roses looks even more soft and enchanting in that quiet and still moment, her presence gentle and calm.
The man keeps looking at her without blinking, his gaze fixed on her, as if trying to understand who she is or why she is there, his expression calm yet curious, observing her silently and carefully.
The man keeps staring at Yalini without blinking, completely absorbed in her presence.
