Chapter 3 - He is Handsome

Princess Elara knew within her she was ashamed to face him. How was she going to explain what she just did to him ?

She couldn't raise her head up to face him. She was done and tired of crying but kept on acting, she was just thankful that he couldn't see her face.

He had carried her to his bed, he sat and rested his back on the bed's framework while he gently rested her head on his tousle.

Are you done, he asked her as she sniffled.

Yes ! She replied, gently raising her head from his chest.

Her face was still wet with tears and a nostril ran with a clear water like fluid.

She avoided looking up to meet his gaze.

Feeling better now ? He asked calmly.

She nodded.

Would you like to talk about what just happened ?

She didn't reply.

There was silence as he tried to study her expression but he couldn't still find out why she had acted the way she did, the girl was just fourteen and it was not like she had affections for him more than brotherly love. He thought to himself.

I don't like her ! She finally said but childishly.

Why ! He asked taking no offense.

Why does she have to be with you all the time ? Why would you kiss her and hold her so close to yourself ? You never did that to me. I love you the same way she does or maybe more. She blurted out not allowing herself a chance to breathe.

Lucien couldn't believe his ears. As odd as her words sounded, she fascinated him a lot.

He let out a loud laughter.

She watched as her brothers body rocked with laughter. He was still breath takingly handsome.

Her eyes fell on his lips, they were lightly pink, and full. How could any girl not fall for does. She swallowed subconsciously as her eyes trailed down to his neck, his Adams apple bubbled up and down as he laughed.

She wanted those lips on hers, she wanted them so badly, they would probably taste better than Jasper's.

She leaned in on him and he hugged her. Patting her back on the back.

It's okay. I like that you care so much for me but the person that cares more than you for me is myself. Lady Elara is like my concubine, we are already designated to get married so we could do as much and more than what you just saw.

His words were like a sharp spike on her chest.

He held her by the shoulder and looked into her eyes.

You love me I know. I love you too but I love her in a more different way, the kind I want something like you just saw in exchange with hmm.

All she could see was his lips, she couldn't hear him well, she just watched as his lips moved and tried not to make him notice were she was staring at.

She wanted to kiss him as her first attempt failed but the courage she just had disappeared, so she just stared at them.

What if he hadn't moved to hug her, she would have kissed him right ? Something in her head asked her.

***

King Ranger Stormwwolf. King of the kingdoms and protector of the realms but not his family !

That was the queen as she walked into her husband's Chambers.

Why are you being sarcastic ?

King Ragnar wasn't ready for her this afternoon.

She found herself a comfortable chair to sit opposite him as he sipped on a glass of red wine.

What did you do with my daughter ? She asked being ever sarcastical.

You mean our daughter. And I did nothing to her or with her, whatever way you put it.

She didn't like her husband because of his decision to take in his brother's son.

I over heard you talking to someone, and I heard my daughter's name.

You still using the word my instead of out. He corrected.

And so, she added.

If you don't refer to her as our daughter why don't you forget this conversation ever happened, because you will hear nothing from me.

Queen Sarephina wanted badly to know what this old man was hiding. She had prayed on her way here that it should not be true but it looks like her prayers weren't answered.

What are you hiding concerning "our" daughter.

She cursed herself within her as she said this. She snatched the drink from him and glumped the whole thing down her angry throat.

The king didn't mind, he knew how his wife can be.

The warden of the veil, Lord Kealthorn Voss. You know he isn't married and he isn't the type to keep concubines. He is a strong and good man, he would protect her...

Get to the point, she almost yelled at him. She prayed for the second time that day that it wasn't what she was thinking.

I proposed a marriage with the princess with him.

You mean my fourteen years old daughter. She asked as rudely as possible not caring if she didn't use "our".

Yes ! The king said not minding her attitude.

To a man almost in his thirties ? She said as her voice shoke.

The king was silent.

What on earth is wrong with you, why do you want to marry out our young daughter. She's just a child for goodness sake. She ranted.

You didn't act this way when prince Lucien was being betrothed.

That's not my problem, you could do anything you want with him, his not my child and not a part of my family.

Then who's a part of this your family ?

There was silence.

I told you to give Lady Stormveil to my son but you went ahead to give her to that whatever.

Don't you ever use that tone with my son again and lady Stormveil is too old for Thorne.

The king was getting angry.

She smiled within her. Who was this man fooling calling Lucien his son ?

Then, something clicked inside of her. What if he was right, lord Voss was actually a good man. Though he is quite old for her daughter he was the best man she could think of who wasn't into women and whores. He could protect her, fend for her and be a good husband. She would ask her husband to wait for two more years for her to turn sixteen.

The king was staring at his wife who was lost in thoughts waiting for her to finish so he could tell her she didn't need to worry about it because it wasn't happening anyway.

Ok ! He can marry her on this conditions she said.

He rejected the offer. He king blurted.

What !

He rejected a princess, my daughter. What's the reason, not pretty enough.

This woman was really making him very confused.
