Chapter 20: Gensokyo… Loli Paradise?
....
"Lady Yukari, you've been holed up in your room for three whole days without stepping outside!"
"Oh, come on, Ran, don't be so mad. I'm working on something very important."
Hearing that, Yakumo Ran glanced at the fleeting images inside the gaps and let out a helpless sigh, pressing a hand to her forehead.
"Lady Yukari… I really don't think spying on people qualifies as something important."
Stretching her slender limbs lazily, Yakumo Yukari rolled over under Ran's expectant gaze and continued snacking while peeking through her gaps.
"Lady Yukari!!"
Ran was so angry that her nine fluffy golden tails twisted together into a knot. Yet, she was still completely helpless against her master.
Whenever Yukari reverted from her mature, elegant form into her true blonde loli appearance, she would inevitably enter a long phase of pure laziness.
To prevent her master from turning into a literal mushroom-growing shut-in, Ran always had to rack her brain to drag her outside during these periods… often at the cost of quite a bit of tail fur.
Just as Ran was about to forcibly drag Yukari out for a walk.
A phone rang.
"Hmm? Oh, Kaguya… Got it, I'll be right there."
Hanging up, a gap opened beneath Yukari and swallowed her whole, leaving behind a room full of snack wrappers and fruit peels for Ran to clean up.
Inside a painfully otaku-decorated room filled with anime figures and posters.
Houraisan Kaguya, the former princess of the moon, was dressed in a way completely unbefitting her title.
A loose white T-shirt printed with "Working Means Losing", paired with black thigh-high socks.
If she dyed her hair blonde and tied it into a low ponytail, she could easily cosplay Futaba Anzu.
The only light in the room came from a massive TV screen, currently playing "Kihara 's Bizarre Adventure." Even while spying, Yukari hadn't forgotten to invite the mastermind behind it all.
Just as Kaguya took a sip of her soda.
A small figure dropped out of a gap and landed neatly on a prepared cushion.
Kaguya wasn't surprised by Yukari's younger appearance at all.
After all… her own "teacher" had a loli true form too.
There was an unspoken rule in Gensokyo:
The stronger the youkai, the younger their true form.
As for why they all appeared as mature women during banquets…
Probably to maintain their dignity.
After all, the "dignified" mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion was a perfect example.
Without a certain level of… presence, it was hard to command respect.
"Hey, you idle youkai," Kaguya said, narrowing her eyes.
"What's with that weird recovery ability of Kihara 's? Did you mess with him?"
"I didn't touch a thing," Yukari replied lazily.
"Didn't you notice? His shadow is… strange."
Kaguya frowned.
She hadn't spent as much time observing Kihara as Yukari had, nor did she have such a convenient spying ability. Naturally, she hadn't noticed anything unusual about his shadow.
"Stop speaking in riddles. Just tell me."
"How boring. If it were Eirin, she'd already be discussing theories with me."
Yukari smirked, then continued:
"There's something inside his shadow. Most likely the core cause of the Gensokyo anomaly."
"His shadow… huh…"
"More importantly," Yukari added, "what's the deal with that transformation device?"
At the mention of the Faiz belt, Kaguya grinned proudly, placing her hands on her hips.
"Pretty cool, right? I made it using 'Eternity'."
"Time acceleration? I didn't see anything like that in it."
"Hehe… isn't that godlike girl already making the real version for me?"
"I see…" Yukari narrowed her eyes with a knowing smile.
"No wonder she suddenly carried your aura…"
She glanced at Kaguya teasingly.
"Didn't expect the Moon Princess to be so invested in him."
"He's my only online friend," Kaguya replied calmly, without giving Yukari any opening to tease her further.
"If that's all, I'm leaving."
"Yeah, yeah, go already. Don't interrupt my game."
Not long after Yukari left.
Kaguya opened her fridge.
…And froze.
Her entire stock of soda was gone.
"…YOU DAMN PEEPING FREAK!!!"
....
After obtaining his exclusive motorcycle from the monster, Kihara had grown fond of taking Takarada Rikka out for rides around the city.
Over the past three days, he noticed something:
Whenever he invited her out, she seemed noticeably happier than usual.
From this, he reached a conclusion.
Their relationship had successfully advanced to the "good friends" stage!
With a bit more effort, they could definitely become.
More than friends, but not quite lovers!
If Rikka knew what was actually going on in his head…
Her happiness would probably shatter instantly.
And she'd glare at him with clenched teeth, calling him a complete idiot.
Today, Kihara had planned to take Rikka out to the countryside for sightseeing.
Unfortunately—
That plan was immediately ruined.
Three muscular, mole-like monsters blocked his path, striking exaggerated poses like something out of JoJo.
Their pitch-black, beady eyes locked onto him.
"O Rider… the trial begins."
"Kill or be killed. Let us see if you are worthy to stand before the King."
"Yahoo~! Muscles are truth!"
"…Isn't that last line a bit off?" Kihara muttered.
Complaints aside, he swiftly equipped his belt and transformed into Kamen Rider Faiz.
Three against one.
Clearly, the odds weren't in his favor.
But Kihara wasn't the type to think about tactics.
All he knew—
Was to keep moving forward and keep punching.
The battle erupted instantly.
The leading monster's arm suddenly transformed into octopus-like tentacles, shooting toward him.
A slick, viscous fluid dripped from the suction cups, sizzling as it hit the ground.
Kihara had zero interest in getting caught in a tentacle attack.
Twisting his body, he dodged and countered with a punch.
But the slimy coating absorbed most of the impact, rendering his attack nearly useless.
As he leapt back to avoid another strike, something felt off.
One of the monsters had disappeared.
A chill ran down his spine.
"Not good!"
Acting on instinct, he threw a punch to his left.
A sharp blade grazed his shoulder, sparks flying.
"Nice reflexes."
The voice came from above.
Kihara looked up.
A monster with bone claws was hanging upside down from a streetlight, its claws glowing faintly.
Before he could react.
Slimy tentacles had already wrapped around his ankle.
At the same time, the third monster—silent until now, charged forward like a heavily armored tank.
"Damn it!"
Kihara crossed his arms in front of him to block.
BOOM!
The impact sent him crashing into the ground.
His armored body scraped violently against the surface as he was thrown backward, smashing through multiple walls before finally stopping.
Pain surged through his arms and back.
But he didn't even have time to breathe.
The three monsters rushed toward him again.
closing in for the kill.
