Chapter 1 - [MAX] 1: The Max-Level Boss Returns

Chaldea - Master's Quarters

Adam collapsed onto the bed, his body heavy with exhaustion. He had spent the entire day grinding for materials, and right now all he wanted was to sleep—deep, uninterrupted sleep.

Please, no midnight raids tonight.

In short, Adam had crossed over. By some insane stroke of luck, he had become part of the moonlit world.

The path that led him here had been anything but straightforward.

He had started as nothing more than an ordinary guy. The people he met were equally ordinary—at least by this world's standards.

Like the curry-obsessed upperclassman.

The blond vampire who had never been split into seventeen pieces.

The demon-exterminating heiress with an ice-cream addiction.

The Grand Puppeteer known as the Scarred Red.

And her most beloved little sister—the Blue.

…Yeah. Perfectly ordinary.

In a world overflowing with crises, Adam had survived purely on his intimate knowledge of the plot. Along the way he had formed some "small" connections with those very people.

He had honestly believed life would keep rolling along like that—happy, peaceful, and uneventful.

Then he discovered that Chaldea existed in this world.

And that there was no Fujimaru Ritsuka, the 48th Master.

The presence of Chaldea meant one thing: the Incineration of Human Order was coming. Without the 48th Master who was supposed to play the decisive role, humanity was doomed.

And that included everything Adam cared about.

So what was there left to say?

It was over.

With tears in his eyes, Adam joined Chaldea and became the 48th Master himself.

He kept the parts of the story he liked and personally stepped in to change the parts he didn't.

Thanks to his effort and his encyclopedic knowledge of future events, life in Chaldea turned into a happy, fulfilling… well, occasionally turbulent existence.

But then everything changed again.

A small, silver-haired figure slipped stealthily into his room—Fairy Knight Lancelot, also known as Melusine.

She had come to give her tired Master some very personal "care."

But the moment she saw the bed, she froze.

"Huh?! Where's Master?"

2004

Singularity F — Fuyuki

The acrid stench of burning filled Adam's nostrils. He frowned, slowly opened his eyes, and pushed himself upright.

"What the hell?"

The scene in front of him was painfully familiar. His eyes widened.

His mind instantly flashed through the usual suspects who loved causing trouble.

Doesn't look like their handiwork.

Once he calmed down, the situation became clear in seconds.

Yes. He had crossed over again.

Straight into Singularity F.

And unless he was very mistaken, this was no longer his original world. He had landed in a parallel timeline.

How did he know?

According to the slightly fuzzy memories in his head, the first thing he should have seen upon waking was a scantily clad Shielder.

Since she wasn't here, it meant this world's events were following the "original route."

So… he was supposed to bring his max-level team and clear the Singularity all over again?

Seriously?

A max-level player starting a fresh account?

Rebuilding everything from scratch, summoning Servants one painful step at a time?

The agony of a new account with zero Servants—who could understand that?

Besides, it had already been ten years. Most of the details from Singularity F had faded.

He only remembered the truly critical pieces.

And most importantly—

Goetia.

The mastermind behind the Incineration of Human Order. The creator of the Singularities.

How was he supposed to defeat Goetia without sacrificing Doctor Romani, Mash, or Fou?

That was going to be a headache.

[System loading complete]

[Emotion Value System at your service]

[System activation date: XX]

[You can generate Emotion Values by causing emotional fluctuations in other sentient beings]

[Emotion Values can be used for lottery draws]

[System Shop (locked)]

Adam stared at the floating window, emotions swirling.

The timing wasn't terrible—he could actually use a system right now.

But that activation date was glaringly suspicious.

Even though it was censored, he could tell it was a two-digit number measured in years.

Cheap system. Trying to play it off.

After everything he had been through these past years, the system finally decided to show up.

If there was an award for tardiness, this thing would win gold.

"You're really early, huh?" Adam muttered sarcastically.

The system seemed to catch the shade.

[Due to excessive loading time, compensation rewards have been issued to the Host]

[System interface has been customized to Host's preferences]

[Lottery page updated]

Adam blinked.

Now that was familiar.

[Numerous bonds detected on Host]

[System has locked onto locations based on bond data]

[Loading… Complete]

[Host may now summon Servants with whom he shares bonds]

Adam's eyes lit up with recognition.

This was the legendary "Love Abs" party formation screen, wasn't it?

Six Servants could be deployed at once—unlike the game, where you could only field five of your own plus one support.

Here, all six were his.

And this wasn't a game.

Six Servants! Six!

That was enough to run an entire Holy Grail War by himself.

He tapped into the selection menu with practiced ease.

The system had said he could summon bonded Servants, but exactly how many were available?

The interface lagged for a second, then loaded.

Over a hundred choices flooded the screen.

Everyone was here.

Adam raised an eyebrow, genuinely impressed.

At least he wouldn't have to suffer through the early-game "no Servants" hell.

And he was running a max-level account through beginner content again.

His Chaldea had a few… non-standard Servants.

Like those Beasts, for example.

Maybe he should give the Counter Force a little eye drops.

But there were restrictions.

He glanced at the bottom-right corner.

[Total Cost]

[0/16]

[Every Servant consumed points:

[5-star Servants: 16 points

[4-star: 12]

[3-star: 7]

[2-star: 4]

[1-star: 3]

Adam currently had 16 points total.

The cap could be raised later by spending Emotion Values.

Good news: cracked version. All Servants unlocked from the start—no summoning required.

Bad news: new account. The cost cap still needed leveling.

Adam stroked his chin, lost in thought.

With only 16 points, he could field one 5-star Servant—enough to keep himself safe for now.

The real priority was gathering Emotion Values to strengthen his forces.

The lottery rewards could boost his personal power too.

First small goal: raise the cost cap high enough to deploy six 5-star Servants.

Then do a 330-pull in the gacha pool.

"System, explain Emotion Values in detail."

[Emotion Values are generated whenever another sentient being experiences a fluctuation—shock, joy, anger, fear, etc.—directly caused by the Host]

[These values can be used for draws]

Adam nodded, mostly getting it.

But…

He looked around. The burning city was eerily silent.

There didn't seem to be any sentient life nearby.

Who was he supposed to farm Emotion Values from?

The Servants in Fuyuki who still had self-awareness?

That should work—they might not be alive, but they were definitely sentient.

The question was how to provoke strong reactions.

Brute-force them with overwhelming power for shock value?

Felt a little lacking.

...

Adam thought for a few seconds, then suddenly raised his right index finger, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.

"Ohhh~"

"I remember this Singularity should have Saber Alter—Artoria Alter."

"So what kind of face will she make when she sees Morgan?!"
