Chapter 60 - [MAX] 60: The 'Depth'

"Perfect, it worked!"

Little Da Vinci clapped her hands in pure delight, eyes sparkling as she gazed at the newly summoned Artoria Alter.

Joy, however, was not universal.

The faint sheen of sweat on Adam's forehead had already turned into heavy beads. He turned to Little Da Vinci, remembering the "surprise" she had teased earlier, and asked tensely,

"What exactly worked? What was this surprise you mentioned?"

Little Da Vinci gave a proud little laugh and explained to everyone present.

The Artoria Alter they had just summoned was the one from Adam's own Chaldea.

Her intention was straightforward. The Servants in Adam's Chaldea were already at an extremely high level of strength. Instead of summoning new ones and raising them from scratch, it was far more efficient to pull over the fully developed versions directly.

Thanks to Adam's relentless daily material grinding, every Servant in his Chaldea had reached the absolute limit of their Spirit Origin. Any further growth would require Holy Grails.

Each and every Servant had been maxed out to the highest possible level.

Why didn't he use Holy Grails to push them even further? It wasn't for lack of Grails—his Chaldea could produce them and had hundreds in storage.

It was simply his philosophy: every Servant who arrived at Chaldea would be brought to their full potential first. Max level before anything else.

To achieve that ideal, Adam had spent day after day grinding materials with his frontline Servants until he was sick of the sight of them.

Of course, there were a few Servants he had used Holy Grails on to break through their limits completely. Those had been extra shifts on top of his already exhausting routine.

The resource cost of fully maxing even one Servant with Grails was staggering—an endless black hole. He had only done it while maintaining his normal farming schedule.

After pushing several Servants to their absolute ceiling, Adam looked like nothing more than a pile of white ash, completely burned out.

His support Casters? They were already on IV drips and hospitalized from overwork.

Still, the payoff had been immense. Those Servants strengthened to their limits had nearly doubled in power.

Simply put: Servants summoned through normal Chaldea systems arrived like fresh level-1 characters.

Thanks to Little Da Vinci's modifications, they could now directly summon Adam's max-level Servants, memories included. The real prize, however, was their fully developed Spirit Origins.

Under normal circumstances, Adam should have been overjoyed.

Unfortunately… this was not a normal circumstance.

Doctor Romani, hearing the explanation, recalled the terrifying power flicker earlier. The massive electricity drain suddenly made sense—it had come from summoning a Servant with an extremely dense Spirit Origin.

He breathed a sigh of relief. For a moment he had feared they had summoned something far outside the seven standard classes.

He didn't yet realize that the extra classes capable of causing a Chaldea blackout were far more outrageous.

Ritsuka's eyes sparkled with excitement when she learned the Servant was from Adam's Chaldea.

It was like a complete newbie meeting a maxed-out veteran.

"Wow, so we get to see Adam's Servants besides Mash?"

"And she's so powerful she even caused a blackout! She feels way stronger than the ones from Singularity F."

Ritsuka was so thrilled she nearly turned starry-eyed, leaning her whole body toward Adam.

Just as he opened his mouth to respond—

Artoria Alter, clearly displeased by how close Ritsuka was getting, stepped forward, grabbed the back of Adam's collar, and dragged him straight out the door in front of everyone's stunned faces.

"Hey! Wait! Liya, let me explain first!"

"Senpai!"

Mash instinctively reached out, but her cry went unanswered. The door slammed shut, and Adam was already being hauled away.

Mash remembered how Artoria Alter usually behaved toward Adam back in their Chaldea and her expression instantly collapsed.

"Will Senpai… be alright?"

She was genuinely worried about his safety—of the non-physical kind.

After all, back in their Chaldea, there were times Artoria Alter looked at Adam like she wanted to swallow him whole.

Little Da Vinci watched Adam being dragged off and scratched her head in confusion. She had no idea what had transpired between them during Singularity F.

She turned to Mash with a puzzled look.

"Mash, did something happen between that black version of Artoria and Adam? I thought they got along pretty well back in Chaldea?"

Mash's expression grew complicated. She pressed her lips together as memories of Singularity F resurfaced.

——

Morgan teleported right in front of the defeated Artoria Alter, looking down at her with a triumphant smile.

"Yes, that's the expression."

"I've always wanted to see it on your face."

"That jealous look directed at me."

——

Mash still remembered that expression vividly. She glanced anxiously at the door, thinking about Adam being dragged away, and her worry intensified.

Unable to sit still, she hurried after them.

Little Da Vinci stared as Mash ignored her question and ran out. Her curiosity burned even hotter.

What exactly was going on?

At that moment, the other Mash came over to explain the earlier situation.

...

Meanwhile, with Adam.

Artoria Alter dragged him through the corridors until they reached a deserted corner. She pressed her body against his, pinning him against the wall. Her hand slammed against the surface above his shoulder with such force the wall caved in slightly.

She had just delivered a perfect wall-pin.

Adam stared at the dent and swallowed hard.

"About what happened earlier—"

Before he could finish, Artoria Alter pressed a finger to his lips.

Her gaze slowly traveled down his body and stopped at a certain spot—where his hidden lollipop waited.

After staring for a couple of seconds, she licked her lips.

"I can let what happened before slide…"

She paused, then looked up at him, eyes blazing with open desire.

"But I have one condition."

Adam immediately sensed danger. "W-what condition?"

Artoria Alter leaned close to his ear, whispering in the softest, most seductive voice:

"The condition is… you must fill the King's stomach!"

Adam watched as Artoria Alter slowly crouched down. With practiced movements, she freed his lollipop…

The hungry King of Britain's favorite treat had always been the lollipop Adam kept hidden away.

Seeing her actions and realizing they were in the middle of a hallway, Adam tried to stop her.

"Wait, Liya! This is the corridor! If someone comes—"

His words cut off.

Artoria Alter had already begun savoring the lollipop.

"Mmm~ So sweet."

Her voice was muffled, but the pleasure was unmistakable.

She didn't mind the location at all. In fact, the risky setting seemed to excite her more. With her Instinct, she could sense if anyone was approaching.

Artoria Alter sucked with overwhelming intensity. Her lung capacity as a Servant was extraordinary, and the suction she applied was equally devastating.

But Adam was no novice.

Using his experience, he quickly took back control and seized the upper hand.

He might lose to Artoria Alter in combat, but when it came to this lollipop battle, he could last all day.

Fight on!

Some time later.

Mash jogged through the Chaldea corridors, face anxious as she searched.

"Senpai, where are you…?"

After looking around, she finally spotted his reflection in a glass panel. He seemed to be standing in a corner.

Joy lit up her face. She started forward—until a series of wet, rhythmic sounds reached her ears.

Her steps slowed. The sounds felt disturbingly familiar.

Driven by curiosity, she crept closer and carefully peeked around the corner.

The sight made her eyes widen in shock.

Artoria Alter was crouched down, eagerly devouring the lollipop with big, hungry motions. The blissful expression on her face suggested she hadn't tasted anything this delicious in ages.

Mash instantly pulled back, face burning hot. She swallowed thickly as the image replayed in her mind.

Artoria Alter glanced toward the spot where Mash had peeked and smiled faintly, as if she had expected it.

Mash wanted to look again but lost her nerve halfway. She stood frozen for dozens of seconds, listening, before making a decision.

She backed up several dozen steps, then deliberately walked forward with loud footsteps.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

The obscene sounds stopped immediately.

"Hey! Liya, stop messing around! Someone's coming!"

As Mash approached the corner, she heard a loud, irritated "Tch!" from Artoria Alter.

She clearly wasn't happy about her meal being interrupted.

Mash's lips curved into a tiny, hidden smile. She stepped around the corner.

There stood Adam and Artoria Alter.

Artoria Alter's face was cold and composed as usual. Adam, however, had a faint flush he couldn't quite hide.

When he saw it was Mash, he gave an awkward laugh and tried to sound casual.

"Hahaha, what a coincidence, Mash. You're here too?"

Artoria Alter said nothing. She simply wrapped her arm possessively around Adam's.

Mash's mouth twitched. She forced herself to ignore it and smiled at him.

"Senpai, the Servant summoning isn't finished yet. There are still several more Servants waiting."

"Would you like to come watch the rest?"

Just as Adam opened his mouth to answer—

Artoria Alter gave his arm a firm tug, pulling his ear to her lips. In a tone that allowed no refusal, she whispered:

"This alone… is nowhere near enough to quell the King's anger."

"From now on, you're mine for the entire day. Prepare yourself mentally."

Artoria Alter's eyes burned with raw, unfiltered desire as she stared at Adam.

He understood instantly and let out a deep, helpless sigh.

He did feel genuine guilt toward Artoria Alter because of what had happened in Singularity F, but this wasn't a multiple-choice situation. There was only one path.

Adam turned to Mash with an apologetic look.

"Sorry, Mash. Something came up today, so I won't be able to watch the rest of the Servant summoning. Could you let Ritsuka and the others know for me?"

Mash opened her mouth as if she wanted to speak, then closed it again. When she finally answered, her voice was quiet.

"It's… it's alright, Senpai. I'll pass the message on."

Artoria Alter took Adam's hand and turned to leave. Even as he was pulled along, Adam glanced back and gave Mash a small wave goodbye.

Mash waved back on instinct, forcing a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

Once Adam faced forward again, Artoria Alter—still clinging to his arm—glanced over her shoulder at Mash. She deliberately licked the corner of her lips where a short, slightly curled strand of hair still clung. She slowly drew it into her mouth and flashed Mash a taunting little smirk.

Mash's strained smile shattered completely. Her eyebrows twitched violently. Watching the two of them walk away, the frustration she had been holding back finally exploded.

Gritting her teeth, Mash ran after them and seized Adam's other arm.

Artoria Alter looked genuinely surprised by Mash's sudden boldness. In her memory, Mash had never been this assertive before.

Mash gripped Adam's arm tightly while glaring at Artoria Alter with open displeasure.

She had realized that if she kept hesitating, Adam would be completely stolen away. She wouldn't even get a taste of the leftovers.

She refused to let that happen.

Mash was going to claim her future!

"Even if you're the King, you can't monopolize Senpai like this!"

Adam stared at Mash in stunned silence. Maybe he really had been neglecting her lately—that was the only explanation for her sudden fire.

"Mash…"

Faced with Mash's courageous challenge, Artoria Alter didn't get angry. If anything, a spark of admiration shone in her eyes.

She had always liked people with strong spirit.

"So you're finally done acting timid?"

"Not bad. You've improved."

"But stealing him from me won't be that easy."

Artoria Alter gave Mash a confident, provocative smile.

Mash flinched for a split second before steeling herself again.

"My bond with Senpai is just as strong!"

The two girls each held one of Adam's arms as the three of them walked off together.

None of them noticed the pair of eyes that had watched the entire scene from the shadows.

Big Da Vinci: "..."

Da Vinci had been struck by a sudden explosion of inspiration the night before, right at the peak of her emotions. Ideas for creating Little Da Vinci had flooded her mind, and she had thrown herself into the workshop. She had even run into Doctor Romani that morning on her way back.

After hours of intense work, she had finally stepped out for some air—only to witness this exact moment.

Da Vinci stared blankly as Adam was literally carried away between Mash and Artoria Alter.

"Well… that's certainly unexpected…"

————————————

The next morning, Adam woke up and stretched. He glanced at the two girls still sleeping beside him—their bodies twitching faintly from the aftereffects of the previous day—and gently pulled the blankets up to cover them.

He looked at Mash and couldn't help smiling at how brave she had been yesterday. She had suddenly become far more assertive, clearly determined to compete with Artoria Alter.

Then his gaze shifted to Artoria Alter. She had boldly claimed she wanted him for the entire day, yet even under his full attention she hadn't lasted a single afternoon.

All that arrogance, and in the end she was still just another defeated opponent.

Adam began thinking about what he needed to do today.

First, continue working on Olga Marie's new body.

A full day yesterday should have been more than enough time for Chaldea to finish all the Servant summonings.

After that, it would be time for the pre-raid briefing and mobilization for the first Singularity.
