The next day morning, when Mr. Daniel was sitting peacefully in the hall, holding his cup of coffee and thinking about the previous day's beautiful visit, suddenly the phone rang. The calm atmosphere of the house slightly shifted as everyone's attention moved toward the ringing sound. Daniel gently placed his cup on the table and picked up the phone.
"Hello, Daniel speaking," he said in a composed voice.
On the other side, it was Max's grandfather. His voice carried warmth and excitement. "Good morning, Mr. Daniel! We hope you reached home safely yesterday. We are still thinking about the wonderful time we spent together."
Daniel smiled, feeling a sense of belonging. "Good morning! Yes, we reached safely. And truly, we also cannot stop thinking about your hospitality. It felt like we were with our own family."
Meanwhile, Rose, who was sitting near the window, curiously looked at her father, trying to understand who was on the call. Mary and James also slowly gathered near Daniel, sensing that it was an important conversation.
Max's grandfather continued, "We called you today with a special intention. After discussing with our family last night, we feel that we should not delay the next step. If you agree, we would like to proceed with fixing the engagement date of Max and Rose."
Hearing this, Daniel's face lit up with happiness. He looked at Rose, whose eyes sparkled with a mix of shyness and joy. Mary clasped her hands in excitement, and James nodded with a proud smile.
Daniel replied, "This is truly wonderful news. We are also thinking the same. When good things come into life, we should not delay them. Let us fix an auspicious date soon."
Max's grandfather said, "We have already spoken to our family priest this morning. According to him, there is a very good muhurtham (auspicious time) next week. If it suits you, we can arrange the engagement ceremony on that day."
Daniel paused for a moment, looked at his family, and they all agreed with a nod. "Yes, that sounds perfect. We are ready from our side."
Rose felt her heart beating faster. Her dream, which once felt so distant and magical, was now becoming reality step by step. She silently thanked God, remembering all those nights she prayed and dreamed of her life partner.
After the call ended, the entire house filled with joy and excitement. Mary immediately started planning. "We have very little time. We need to arrange dresses, jewelry, invitations, and everything for the engagement," she said energetically.
James added, "Yes, and we must make it grand, just like the function we had earlier."
Daniel looked at Rose lovingly. "My dear daughter, your new life is beginning. Are you happy?" he asked softly.
Rose, with tears of happiness in her eyes, replied, "Yes, father. I am very happy. Everything is happening just like a beautiful dream."
The servants in the house also got busy with preparations. Calls were being made, lists were being written, and the house once again turned into a place of celebration.
On the other side, in Max's house, similar excitement was flowing. Max's grandfather and grandmother were discussing arrangements, while Max himself was standing quietly in the garden, holding his phone and thinking about Rose. A gentle smile appeared on his face as he imagined their future together.
He whispered to himself, "Finally, the wait is over."
Back in Daniel's house, Rose went to her room and looked at herself in the mirror. She remembered the first time she saw Max in her dreams, the sketch that was drawn, and all the moments that led to this day. She felt grateful for every step of her journey.
As the day progressed, both families were fully engaged in preparation. The bond between them grew stronger with every conversation, every plan, and every shared moment.
Thus, a new chapter of their lives was about to begin—not just as two individuals coming together, but as two families uniting with love, respect, and happiness.
And with hearts full of hope and blessings, they all moved forward toward the engagement day, where dreams would officially turn into reality.
