Chapter 4: The Anbu Boy with Sharingan
"Lie down. Don't move."
The medical ninja entered the room and immediately had assistants pin Naruto down on the bed. After sending chakra through his brain for a full examination, the same medic who had checked him multiple times before shook his head.
After the procedure, they didn't say a single word to Naruto. They simply turned and left the room.
In their eyes, Naruto was nothing more than a mission target. A few of them even showed clear disgust and disdain.
At the far end of the corridor outside, the Third Hokage stood waiting for the report.
"No major issues. The most likely cause is that the head injury damaged his mental energy, leading to a form of self-sealing. He has woken up, but his memories will need some stimulation to return…"
The medical ninja gave a detailed report to the Third Hokage, then stood silently to the side, awaiting further orders.
"I'll handle the arrangements. Iruka, I'll have to trouble you a bit more. After school, please visit Naruto more often. He… sigh."
The Third Hokage ended with a heavy sigh, leaving Iruka standing there in confusion as he walked away.
"I'll take good care of Naruto!"
Iruka didn't fully understand the situation, but since it was a direct order from the Third Hokage, he would carry it out properly.
After all, if you ignored the "demon fox" part, Naruto was just an orphan. But why did it have to be the demon fox…
Naruto's newly awakened perception could now cover the entire hospital. He was fully aware of every movement — Iruka's concern, the Third Hokage's orders, and even Kakashi, who had briefly left after receiving a message before quickly returning.
Late at night, an Anbu ninja wearing a mask appeared beside Naruto's bed.
"Uzumaki Naruto?"
Uchiha Itachi had been summoned alone by the Hokage that evening and given a special mission:
Restore Naruto's memories.
The task was troublesome. He could create genjutsu easily enough, but restoring real memories? He wasn't a medical ninja.
"Big brother with the red eyes… why are you wearing a mask?"
The moment Itachi removed his mask, Naruto opened his eyes. Looking at the teenage version of the future rogue ninja, he gave a faint, shallow smile.
It wasn't really because of Itachi's appearance. He was thinking of Sasuke.
That poor boy… his fate wasn't much better than his own.
One had nothing from the very beginning. The other had enjoyed a few happy years before losing everything…
Naruto wasn't sure which was more painful.
"Your memory is damaged. I'm here to help treat you. Don't worry…"
Uchiha Itachi had known Naruto's identity from the start. After the Nine-Tails attack years ago, his mother had taken him and Sasuke to see the baby once.
Unfortunately, her request to adopt him had been rejected, and they were even ordered to stay away from Naruto.
"Memory? Did that person who claims to be my teacher send you? Your eyes are really strange…"
Naruto raised his hand as if to touch Itachi, but the next instant, the entire surroundings changed.
Genjutsu…
The Sharingan's genjutsu really was powerful.
However…
This guy wasn't trying to restore his memories at all. He was clearly trying to implant a set of "important events" into his mind — commonly known as…
Brainwashing!
