The iron gate of the cell shut behind her as she stood facing her new room for the next days. She moved her eyes to the stone walls and the floor, which hadn't been cleaned for who knew how long.
"Are you satisfied, witch?" Zaphyra asked in a mocking tone.
Radella, saying nothing, went and sat, leaning against the wall. She put her hand on her chest, where a pain still lingered, and recalled how that Eonian used her power to strike her.
She was too familiar with those three.
They played a huge role in how she ended up now. Maybe heaven had decided to send them to her.
"You made enemies with them," Zaphyra added. "You can't bear it."
Radella frowned slightly. Nothing useful ever came from that beast. "Coward"
"I'm not a coward. This is for Nalath."
They stayed silent for a long moment. Then she took a deep breath. "How long will they keep us here?"
At that time, a figure stopped at the gate. Radella moved her eyes to see a girl standing there, and a guard was opening the gate for her.
Lysha stepped inside and stood in front of her. Radella remained still and unwavering as she returned the stare.
"I can see you have changed, Nala. Unfortunately, you've gotten foolish, trying to take what isn't yours."
Radella's eyes widened slightly.
"Tell me. What have you told Khalien? Why was he protecting you like that?"
What nonsense was that? "Why are you here?" Radella calmly asked.
Suddenly, before Radella even understood, she felt a gust of wind, and she was pinned to the wall with a strong grip, her legs hanging.
Lysha was choking her, her iris changed to green, and she growled. "To warn you. You should stay away from him. If possible, leave the pack like you did."
"Unfortunately, it's impossible."
Lysha threw Radella aside, and she rolled, hitting the wooden bed and breaking it. She already had injuries, so the pain was excruciating, and she spat blood.
It seemed they would never give her a break. But this time, it annoyed her more than anything, as the whole reason for the fight was ridiculous.
"Lysha, Viola's daughter. Still can't accept Khalien was never hers."
Radella gritted her teeth and grabbed a piece of wood that broke from the bed leg.
Lysha noticed that, and her brow raised. "Nala, you can't be thinking you're going to fight back?" She scoffed. "Don't make me laugh. I might even think you're not just a fool but an idiot."
Radella didn't even get a chance to do anything, and Lysha was already in front of her. Immediately, Radella raised her hand and threw a strike to tear her, but Lysha easily caught her hand.
She had combat skills, but fighting a being with speed like a werewolf was another story. In no time, she found herself getting slapped, and she fell aside.
Radella remained on the ground, breathing with difficulty, her mouth filled with blood. She curled her fingers as anger pushed her to rise up again. She felt too weak. Her legs shook, but she forced herself.
Lysha looked at her eyes, which burned. She frowned. Why didn't she beg for mercy? Just thinking of how defiant she became, she wished to kill her now. But she couldn't, as her mother still had a use for her.
Maybe she should break one of her legs so she wouldn't be able to move.
"Nala!"
She heard a growl behind her. She turned to see a man standing at the doorway, his grey eyes shifting to deep orange like an inferno.
Lysha's expression panicked.
Radella looked at Khalien through her blurred vision. She forced herself, and it reached her limit, so she slowly went down.
Khalien rushed over and caught her. Radella only stared weakly, and before she passed out, she heard Zaphyra growl.
"That day, you will all beg for mercy."
It seemed Zaphyra had just revealed his venom towards her pack.
Lysha bitterly looked at Radella in Khalien's arms, then she turned to Khalien.
"What are you doing?"
"You want to kill her? She is your sister."
"She isn't my sister. She is just a puppet my mother needs! Khalien, you promised you would reject her!"
"Enough!"
Saying that, he scooped Radella up in his arms.
Lysha was angered, but she knew if there was a fight, she wouldn't stand a chance. Still, she couldn't let him take her either.
"This is Eonian's orders. Nalath has to receive her punishment by staying here for five days. You wouldn't want to go against them and your father."
"Move!" Khalien growled.
Then, saying nothing else, he stepped out with Radella in his arms.
But Lysha wasn't lying. Once, he wanted to abandon Nalath, and he was sure Nalath might have found out, which was the reason for her leaving the pack.
In no time, he reached Nalath's house. He put her on the bed. Soon, the healer was summoned to check on her.
It was an old woman, wearing big earrings and tying her hair with a headscarf. They seldom used her, as most healed themselves, so being called like that was a pleasure for her. She had both medical skills, and sometimes she was a seer.
"Elder Coretta, how is she?" Khalien asked.
"Don't you worry. This girl's will is strong. She would never allow herself to die."
Khalien just nodded, even if he was bewildered.
"The big regret in your life," Coretta turned to him seriously, "will be her."
He furrowed with annoyance. That was the problem with this woman, she would pry into things never asked.
He had already called a healer, so he stepped outside.
He had to make their pack stronger and unite other packs to defeat the Eonians. Only then would werewolves have true peace, not like this, where they had to cower to Eons.
When he recalled how that Eonian attacked Nalath, his eyes shifted to deep amber.
It wouldn't take long. Nala, I promise you.
