Min-Gyu paused as his head snapped towards me
"What did you say" Min-Gyu asked softly
"I said Let's break up Min-Gyu" I said indifferently
Min-Gyu rose to his feet in disbelief
"Tell me you are joking with me Nari, please tell me" Min-Gyu said as he stared into my eyes
I held his gaze, calm and unwavering, my eyes stripped of any playful glint that might suggest I was joking.
Min-Gyu staggered back
"Nari, please tell me if i did anything wrong, I can fix it" Min-Gyu said
My brows furrowed slightly
"I..." I said when Min-Gyu cut me off
"Is it because I scolded you for calling my grandma Aunty… or because I asked you why you didn't help grandma grind the rice despite your frail condition… or…?'.." Min-Gyu said, words tumbling out.
"Enough" I said sternly
Min-Gyu stopped and looked at me with sad eyes
"I wanted the break up to be done without any hard feelings but looks like that can't be possible" I said as I crossed my arms
"What do you mean" Min-Gyu asked softly
"What I mean is that I don't like you, I never did" I said calmly
"You're lying, if you didn't like me why would you date me.... Tell me, is it aunty Sun that put you up to this" Min-Gyu asked with hopeful eyes
"No one put me up to this and as for why I dated you… it was simply to use you,' I said, my voice calm
Min-Gyu looked at me with a confused expression
"Your family has always been slightly better than my own and you know how my family treats me....., so when I saw a gullible boy like you who would accept any form of emotional support during your lowest point, I put my plan into action and made you fall in love with me" I said
"You're lying" Min-Gyu shouted
"I'm not...., haven't you always noticed me collecting money, food and transportation from you guys" I said
A look of realization dawned on Min-Gyu's face
"Aunty Jung can even testify, after all I came to your house just to return the bicycle I borrowed from her" I said indifferently
Min-Gyu clenched his fists tightly
"I don't believe you, all our affection and the look you always give me, they never looked fake" Min-Gyu said with a hopeful expression
"Look into my eyes and tell me if you can see an inch of the love you speak of" I said calmly
Min-Gyu looked into my eyes but upon meeting the coldness shining in my eyes, he fell down on the bench
Min-Gyu covered his face with his hands
I glanced at him, complex emotions flashed past my eyes but quickly disappeared
I turned around, about to walk away when a hand stopped me short
My eyes flashed a dangerous light as I glanced back to see Min-Gyu gripping my arm tightly
I clenched my fists, fighting back my instincts to hurt him physically
"So, all those time you laughed, blushed and cuddled together with me under the stars....., were they all fake" Min-Gyu whispered softly
"All those feelings were a fake, all I felt towards you was a deep disgust and disdain...., not love" I said indifferently
Min-Gyu opened his mouth to speak
"And don't try to convince, I'm already dating someone new and he is a rich kid I met in the city...., why else do you think I would dump your sorry ass" I said
A heartbroken expression crossed Min-Gyu's face as he released me from his grip and stepped back
I glanced at him and left without looking back
