Suzie waved dismissively.
Sophia settled the luggage down, then went to the window as she pulled the curtains slightly aside.
Paris at night was beautiful, the lights shimmered, cars moved like glowing insects as peoples chatter filled the air.
"Let's go to bed."
...
The next morning.
Suzie woke up early for once, she jumped out of bed and after freshening up, dragged Sophia and Reed out, and forced them to eat breakfast at a small café.
The breakfast was croissants andb coffee.
Suzie ate like she was competing against time itself meanwhile Reed watched her quietly. Sophia, on the other hand, sipped her coffee gracefully.
After breakfast, as they walked near the streets of Montmartre, Reed's system panel suddenly flickered.
『Ding!』
Reed's steps halted and Elise immediately appeared beside him, her expression turning alert.
Suzie and Sophia walked ahead, admiring a street performer painting portraits, not knowing what's happening with him.
Reed's eyes narrowed at the translucent panel.
『Ding! A protagonist is detected under 1000 metres!』
Reed's eyes flickered as Elise haughtily said.
"Ohoho… another protagonist!"
Reed slowly exhaled.
'Paris, Of all places.'
He thought, even in his past life, he had never stepped foot here. Yet now… Fate was already weaving its threads around him.
Reed's lips curled faintly as he turned toward Sophia and Suzie.
"Sophia! Suzie!"
Hearing his voice, they both turned around.
"What?"
Reed smiled gently.
"I need to handle something for a while. So, You two can enjoy here yourselves, I'll be back in a while."
"Again? Reed, you're always disappearing!"
Suzie pouted, so Reed flicked her forehead lightly causing her to yelp in pain.
"Ouuchhh, You bully!"
Sophia looked at Reed with concern.
"Take care of her."
Reed nodded calmly.
"Not like I can just let be, right?"
Then he turned around and walked away, Elise zipped behind him, whispering excitedly.
"This is getting interesting."
Reed's eyes narrowed slightly in disapproval.
'Interesting? No, this is getting dangerous.'
Because every protagonist meant three things—
Trouble, powerful cheats and yet again, trouble... Lots of it.
...
In a downtown Café.
"please Louise, please don't do this to me!! I can't live without you!!"
A young man grabbed a woman's legs as he grovelled loudly.
A woman looked very angry, almost to the point of eating him alive, as she spit out fire from her mouth.
"You have the audacity to say that after *SOB* after c-cheating on me *SOB*. Robert Martin, we are done."
Finishing this, the woman kicked Robert away and threatened as she came out of the Café seeing him following her.
"If you follow me from now on, i'll call the police and have them arrest you!"
The man, Robert, hesitated a bit, but at the end he didn't follow her, understanding the crowd's agitated gazes after hearing their conversation.
All this drama unfolded before Reed, glancing at Robert, the system's panel appeared before him.
___
『Ding, Child of heaven identified!』
『Name: Robert Martin (Blessed One)』
『Luck Value: 2500』
『Strength: Mortal++』
『Affection towards host: 0 (stranger)』
『Heaven's Artifact: Heavenly Titan's Bloodline (Unawakened)』
___
After briefly looking at his stats, he ignored Robert completely and followed the woman, who had not gone too far away, as if she was expecting someone to chase after her.
The point to be noticed here is that the woman, Louise, unlike a typical heroine, wasn't beautiful, instead she looked mediocre. Completely getting lost if put in a crowd.
She wore glasses, adorned in plain white shirt and black office pants, looking a geek through and through.
Just then, a piece of paper fell out from her pocket.
"Miss, you dropped something."
Reed came close to her as he slowly picked up the piece of paper, slightly glancing at it, he was surprised. It was divorce papers.
Louise quickly snatched it away and with a meek 'Thank you~', she left.
He also didn't chase after her again, for it will be counter-productive and not at all necessary.
...
Meanwhile.
Louise, feeling sorrow of the century, came to a park, sitting down in one of the benches in the corner.
"Why, w-why did y-you betray me Robert, I-i l-loved *SOB* you so m-much *SOB*?"
Maybe it the silence of the park or maybe just her remembering the past that hit her like a tsunami, tearing apart everything she hold dear, everything she thought was true. Unknowingly, tears began to pour down her face, completely breaking her calm persona.
"Miss? Why are you crying here? What happened? Are you hurt somewhere?"
Opening her tear filled eyes, Louise saw two woman staring at her. One was young, approx 19-20 and the other one gave a more mature vibe, with both being quite pretty.
They were none other than Sophia and Suzie.
'Only if I was as pretty as them, he wouldn't have cheated on me.'
Louise thought inwardly as she shook her head, implying everything was fine, but by the looks of it, it wasn't.
"You can at least tell us what happened, maybe it can lessen the pain you are going through."
This time, Sophia spoke, feeling sympathy for the unknown woman she had just met.
Louise resistance broke as she told them what has taken place in her life that caused her such agony, how the guy she loved with all her heart had betrayed her, how he had toyed with her feelings.
She cried for half an hour until she could no more. Sophia and Suzie consoled her as they cursed the said man millions.
"Such a scum isn't worthy of living in this world. Mumma, should i let Reed have him killed?"
Suzie's simple statement terrified both Sophia and Louise. Countering her statement, Sophia calmed down the situation.
"Sorry, Louise, she is just joking. Suzie, how many times have I told you to stop watching those stupid shows, they are not real."
"Eeihh~, but shouldn't Reed have some under handed methods to swish-swish his enemies?"
Hearing Suize's not so smart exclamation, Louise giggled heartedly.
"Hahaha, Suzie, you are so funny, Oh God i am dying, Hahaha~"
