Chapter 50 - Finally, Us

Both of them went back to their routines—

just like before.

They talked every single day.

Maybe even more than before.

It felt good—

waiting for each other.

Still—

they called it friendship.

Best friends.

But somewhere between their words—

between late replies and long conversations—

they both knew…

it was more than that.

They talked about everything.

Family.

Work.

Friends.

Travelling.

Books.

Everything they loved—

they shared with each other.

Months passed like this.

Softly.

Slowly.

Filled with teasing, laughter, and quiet comfort.

One day—

Aarohi said,

"I'm coming to Goa."

Aira's heart skipped.

She smiled.

But along with happiness—

there was something else.

Nervousness.

Because this time—

things felt different.

Not just friendship.

Something deeper.

Something unspoken.

After two days—

Aarohi reached Goa.

Aira went to pick her up.

The moment they saw each other—

they smiled.

Not like strangers meeting again—

but like something that was never lost.

Aira took her home.

Introduced her to her family.

And Aarohi—

fit in so easily.

Like she had always been a part of it.

They treated her like their own.

And she felt it.

Felt at home.

They spent days together—

going to places they both loved.

Walking.

Talking.

Living in those moments.

And slowly—

without saying it—

their feelings grew stronger.

Then one day—

something special happened.

A beautiful morning.

They went to the beach.

The place they both loved the most.

Before reaching—

Aarohi gently said,

"Close your eyes."

Aira smiled—

and listened.

They walked a few steps.

The sound of waves.

The soft wind.

The quiet morning.

Then Aarohi whispered,

"Open them."

Aira opened her eyes.

And stopped.

The beach was glowing softly in the morning light.

The sun rising slowly—

as if it wanted to stay just a little longer.

Birds flying.

The sky painted with soft white clouds.

And in front of her—

Red roses.

Blue poppies.

Arranged beautifully.

Forming a heart.

Candles glowing gently—

like silent witnesses.

And there—

a ring.

Like in The Loyal Pin series scene.

Aira's breath paused.

Her eyes filled with surprise.

And something deeper.

Aarohi stepped closer.

Holding the ring.

Her voice soft—

but certain.

"Will you be my girlfriend, Airu?"

For a moment—

everything disappeared.

The past.

The distance.

The fear.

Only this moment remained.

Aira looked at her.

And finally—

said what her heart had been holding for so long.

"Yes, Aarohi."

Aarohi smiled.

And slowly—

placed the ring on her finger.

Aira had brought a ring too.

She had planned it as well.

A small smile appeared on her face.

Aira, softly,

"I didn't come empty-handed either…"

Aarohi looked at her—surprised.

Aira took out the ring.

Her hands slightly trembling.

But her eyes steady.

She gently held Aarohi's hand—

and slid the ring onto her finger.

No words.

Just a quiet promise.

Time felt still.

Like the world had paused—

just for them.

Aira looked at her hand—

then at Aarohi.

And smiled.

A real one.

Then—

without hesitation—

they kissed.

No awkwardness.

No fear.

Just them.

The waves moved softly.

The wind wrapped around them.

The sky watched silently.

As if nature itself—

was witnessing their love.

After everything—

the waiting.

the distance.

the pain.

They were finally together.

After they kissed—

they didn't move away immediately.

Their foreheads rested together.

Breathing softly.

As if both of them were trying to understand—

that this was real.

Aira slowly looked at the ring again.

Her fingers trembled slightly—

not from fear—

but from feeling too much at once.

Aira, softly,

"You really did this…"

Aarohi smiled—

a little nervous,

a little relieved.

Aarohi,

"I was scared you might say no."

Aira looked at her—

almost offended.

Aira,

"After all this… you still thought that?"

Aarohi looked down—

then back at her.

Aarohi,

"I just didn't want to lose you again."

Aira held her hand tightly.

Aira,

"You won't."

Aira paused for a moment—

looking into her eyes.

Aira, softly,

"I love you, Aarohi."

Aarohi's breath hitched slightly.

She smiled—

but this time, it was deeper.

Aarohi,

"I love you too, Airu."

There was silence again—

but not an empty one.

A warm one.

The kind of silence—

where words are not needed.

They sat down on the sand.

Side by side.

Watching the waves.

Aira leaned her head on Aarohi's shoulder.

Like she had always belonged there.

Aarohi gently intertwined their fingers.

Holding her hand—

like she never wanted to let go.

Time passed—

but neither of them noticed.

Because for the first time—

they weren't waiting anymore.

They weren't wondering.

They weren't afraid.

They were just—

together.

The waves kept coming—

and going.

Like time.

But this time—

they weren't afraid of it.

Aira slowly lifted her hand—

looking at the ring again.

Sunlight touched it—

making it shine softly.

She smiled—

not a loud one.

A quiet one.

The kind that comes—

when your heart finally feels at peace.

Aarohi looked at her—

then gently leaned closer.

Resting her head against Aira's.

Aarohi, softly,

"We took so long… didn't we?"

Aira let out a small breath.

Aira,

"Maybe we needed that time."

A pause.

Aira continued,

"To come back like this."

Aarohi intertwined their fingers tighter.

As if she understood—

without needing more words.

They sat there—

watching the horizon.

Where the sky met the sea.

No past.

No future.

Just this moment.

And for the first time—

that was enough.

Some lovers are meant to be together—no matter how long it takes.
