Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Mysterious Uncle

"Wait! Not the family jewel! Oh dear, anything but the family jewel!"

The moment the perverted yellow dog's howl of pain and despair resounded out loud, a suspicious man suddenly appeared from the thick vegetation adjacent to the playground and hurriedly ran up to Xander.

The man was wearing a Hawaiian shirt riddled with flower marks and bright colours, with a pair of sunglasses tucked comfortably on his upper forehead.

He wore adventurer shorts with many pockets. Combined with his long blonde hair and blue eyes, he looked quite exotic.

However, when the man saw clearly the bloody, tragic, horrifying, traumatic sight before him, his jaw dropped dramatically. His heart trembled as he glanced at Xander with eyes open wide, who was looking at him strangely.

The blonde man: (! ゚Д゚) ムッ!

How could it not be tragic? The spear-shaped branch was planted into the Yellow Dog's family jewel as if it was a declaration of victory, and blood flowed like rivers from its family jewel.

The Yellow Dog was twitching tragically, its hind legs open wide, with tears full of grievance raining down from its beady black eyes. It was a heartbreaking, tragic sight. Even the hardest military men would tremble at such a sight, their heart breaking, their eyes misting, and their family jewel shaking.

Yellow Dog: ( TДT)

The blonde man simply sighed in exhaustion, his head turned upward in a 45-degrees angle, his eyes profound and melancholic, as if the world from his eyes was no longer the same as it used to be.

"No more... It was no more... Family Head, I have failed you..."

He clenched his fists tightly, gritting his teeth. His face was clouded with regret and sadness, as if he had failed something precious in his life.

Xander and the other kids thought the blonde man would be brief, but who knows that in the next ten minutes, the blonde man kept muttering rhetoric and nonsense with that regretful tone?

"Suspicious Uncle, why are you so sad about Yellow Death's demise? Are you its father? Then I'm sorry, but King Xander only subjugated it because it was a scourge," A little girl, who had previously asked Xander for advice to go against her nitpicking mother, inexplicably spoke up, her little face full of sadness.

Hearing this, Xander's mouth twitched. Why is this girl so strange? Which dog would have homo sapiens as its father?

Looking back, she was already strange enough when she asked him for advice to go against her nitpicking mother.

Onyonyo and the other kids even inexplicably became regretful, somewhat infected by Suspicious Uncle's sadness.

"I'm sorry, Suspicious Uncle. I truly am. But if I were my father and saw that I was harassing girls, biting boys, and becoming a great scourge, I would definitely teach myself a lesson!" A boy with a bowl haircut said resolutely.

"That's right. Such a scourge to society, it should be subjugated long ago. It was only because King Xander, with his bravery, courage, and skills, stopped its tyranny that the playground finally found peace," A girl, who looked regretful, praised Xander highly.

Not to mention Xander, even the blonde man, who was pretending, showed a speechless look at the sight of these kids. Why are they so inexplicable?

The blonde man answered empathically, "It's fine. I understand you kids. It was Uncle's fault for being careless, letting that Yellow Dog escape. I would not blame you. It should be me who apologizes."

He directly ignored the first question from that little girl. It was too strange.

The blonde coughed out a few times. Afterward, his sharp face turned serious, looking at the kid who stood at the forefront, who stood directly before the tragic sight, suspected to be the 'subjugator' of 'Yellow Death', and praised by these kids as 'King Xander'.

The yellow dog that became a 'scourge' in this playground was actually not just an ordinary dog. After all, what kind of dog could continuously escape the notice of the Internal Affair Bureau, which was responsible for maintaining the order of society?

Although the officers deployed to deal with it were not comparable to an Evolver, they were still professionally trained by the sergeants and commanders at the Bureaucracy Training Center, not something a trained man, not to mention a mere dog, could handle.

The Yellow Dog was an escapee from one of his lord's Pet Ranches. The blonde man originally had long discovered its location, and was just trying to slack off by extending the search.

The deadline granted by the Lord was still long, about a few weeks left, so why not use the opportunity to relax?

Who knew that the moment he took his eyes off of it, it would be brutally castrated by a damn kid? The blonde man, outwardly grieving, was gloating inside.

A hint of disdain, deeply hidden by the blonde man's superb acting skill, appeared in his eyes.

No matter what, the Yellow Dog was a pet personally raised by the Lord, yet it was pathetically defeated, and by castration nonetheless, by a kid. What a disgrace!

Of course, he understood that the reason for its castration wasn't due to it being careless. No matter what, being able to be a scourge in this protected neighborhood located in the Core Ring of Hanis County was a testimony of its great skill.

The strange part lies within this kid, who actually managed to outsmart and beat its dog life!

The blonde man had already noted down this kid. Perhaps the Lord would be interested in this interesting encounter.

Obviously, the blonde man wouldn't tell any of this to the kid.

Still wearing a regretful look, the blonde man crouched before Xander and said sadly, "Boy, this Yellow Dog is my father's favorite dog. Although it was already old, it was still a great friend of my father. Can you let go of it and spare its dog life? I'll give you compensation equivalent to its dog life, don't worry."

Xander's odd look became even stranger. He properly looked at the grieving blonde man before him and couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

Is this man really grieving? But why is the phrasing so... Infuriating to the victim, the Yellow Dog?

Who said something like 'sparing its dog life'? Isn't that just insulting?

Well, it's technically a dog, so...

Xander rubbed the back of his head and said earnestly, "I understand, Uncle. I also apologize for hurting Uncle's father's dog. I was simply infuriated by how it harassed the girls and the boys in this playground, since I was entrusted by my friends to keep the playground safe. I hope Uncle would forgive me," At the end, Xander bowed slightly, showing sincerity.

Although his intelligence was 11 times that of an average adult, his experience in the extraordinary field, which the blonde man excelled at, was still steep, so he could not figure out any details from the blonde man.

It was only because of his wisdom that he knew this blonde man was definitely not ordinary!

What ordinary person would claim a dog like Yellow Dog, a suspiciously aware and nimble dog, as his father's friend?

Suspicious. Very suspicious.

However, since Xander was only a year old, asking more would make him more suspicious than the blonde man. Having an abnormally smart dog was still fine, but how could a one year old who was able to discern and understand a person's behaviour be explained?

Beating an abnormal dog like Yellow Dog was already a stretch.

Anymore and it would snap.

The blonde man, hearing Xander's reply, twitched. The kid really put it lightly. Hurting? You literally nurtured the damn dog in the most humiliating, painful, tragic way possible.

Xander seemed to notice the blonde man's speechlessness, and he chuckled awkwardly to ease up the tension, "Wait Uncle, let me get my branch real quick."

Thus, under the blonde man's horrified look, Xander walked up to the better-be-dead Yellow Dog and swiftly pulled out the spear-shaped branch.

Blood spluttered out like a fountain, and the dog's howl became even more tragic. What made it more horrifying to the blonde man was the lack of reaction from the kids behind Xander. They even looked pleased...?

Well, the tragedy indeed seems somewhat comical. But still! It's still filled with blood, tragedy and despair! Should they be filled with horror and disgust?

Heaving out a breath, the blonde man takes a deep look at these kids. It seems like they're not as ordinary as he thought they'd be.

"Uncle, you could take the Yellow Dog home now. Once again, I apologize," Xander, with a bloody spear-shaped branch in hand, said guiltily, his face apologetic.

The blonde man seamlessly pulled out a hexagonal-shaped long cage from his back, earning him a chorus of 'Ohhs' and 'Wows' from the kids. He placed it on the ground, opened it, grasped the Yellow Dog by its scruff, and expressionlessly threw the dog into the cage.

Xander's mouth twitched. If you want to pretend, please go all the way. With the way you treated it, even a dog could tell that it was actually not a 'friend'. More like livestock.

He even felt a bit sad for the Yellow Dog. It was hated outside its home, and it was also hated inside its home. At least one of them should be where it could recuperate and be at ease, right?

This is inhumane! This is abuse!

Oh? It's just a dog? Then it's fine.

Thus, under the gazes of the kids, the blonde man waved his hand with the caged Yellow Dog in grasp, mysteriously disappearing into the vegetation.

Before he disappeared, he gave Xander a meaningful look. Xander, with his intelligence and wisdom, took notice and began to ponder.

In the end, due to lack of experience, he could only conclude that the blonde man noticed his abnormality.

"King Xander, now that the Yellow Death has been subjugated, we want to celebrate by playing A-Sa-Do. Do you want to play with us?" Onyonyo interrupted his thought, his voice loud and was filled with excitement.

Xander scratched his head. Now that he understood nametags could be harboured not just by bugs but also by animals, he was actually planning to ran around the neighbourhood to see whether there were some wild cats and dogs he could ''fleece".

However, as a year old boy, how could he possibly resist the word 'play'?

King Xander nodded resolutely, "Let's play!"

"Yayy!" The kids exploded in excitement.
