"Bring out the best wine! We're celebrating today!"
After establishing the alliance with Xia Te, Kaido was overjoyed and immediately called for a banquet.
"Let's save the celebration until after the operation succeeds. There's less than a week until Ace's execution—now's the time to prepare and move on Whitebeard's territory."
Xia Te stopped him.
Kaido was unpredictable by nature—especially once drunk.
Fortunately, Kaido found the reasoning sound. After gulping down some sake, he asked:
"What's the plan?"
"Whitebeard will most likely launch his full assault on the final day before the execution. Based on travel time, we should strike his territories about three days before Ace is executed."
After explaining, Xia Te added:
"You can use these few days to relocate all the samurai from Wano."
Kaido pondered for a moment, found no flaws, and nodded. Then he roared:
"King! Go talk to Orochi! Clean out the Flower Capital—every samurai, drag them all out and have them join this war!"
"Let's go as well,"
Xia Te smiled at his crew.
"Time to receive our new ship."
Half an hour later – Shogun's Residence, Flower Capital
When Kurozumi Orochi heard King declare that the Flower Capital would be handed over to Xia Te as part of the deal—
he panicked, even throwing aside the courtesan in his arms.
"How can this be?! What about my position?!"
For twenty years, he and Kaido had ruled Wano, closing off the country, over-mining Seastone, and building weapon factories.
Every region except the Flower Capital had been reduced to wasteland.
The Flower Capital was the only place left thriving.
If it were gone, Wano would be nothing but ruins.
But Kaido didn't care.
Trading one Flower Capital for Whitebeard's vast territories?
In his eyes, it was an incredible bargain.
Especially since Udon (the Seastone mines) and the samurai forces would remain under his control.
To him, this was free profit.
Facing Orochi's panic, King replied coldly:
"Even if the Flower Capital is handed over, you're still Kaido's ally and Wano's shogun. After the war, we'll occupy Whitebeard's territories."
"There are plenty of prosperous islands there. Pick one."
Orochi broke into a cold sweat.
Even so, he didn't want to lose the domain he had ruled for twenty years.
"…Is there really no room for negotiation?"
King's expression answered for him.
There was none.
The Beast Pirates were determined.
This kind of opportunity wouldn't come again.
"…Fine… I understand. Just… make sure I get a good island afterward."
Left with no choice, Orochi submitted.
Though he commanded a powerful samurai force comparable to a top New World crew—
many among them were Kozuki loyalists.
Traitors.
They didn't truly obey him.
That was why, despite his alliance with Kaido, Orochi never dared oppose him.
That very night—
The Flower Capital underwent a massive purge.
The entire city was cleared of all combat-capable forces.
Only courtesans, servants, cooks, shipwrights, and blacksmiths—logistical personnel—were allowed to remain.
Samurai clans, ninja groups, wandering ronin—
all expelled.
Even Orochi himself was relocated to Onigashima.
The entire Flower Capital island was ceded to the Xia Te Pirates.
"Search carefully. Only leave the support staff. Anyone capable of fighting—remove them all."
Standing atop a pleasure house roof, Xia Te directed both his crew and Beast Pirate forces.
Not a single combatant would be allowed to remain.
Because none of them would ever be loyal.
They were either Orochi's lackeys—
or Kozuki loyalists.
Useless to him.
He would only keep those who were useful, but not dangerous.
At that moment—
Shiryu spotted a samurai hiding in a dark alley.
A cold glint flashed in his eyes.
He dragged the man out—
Before the man could even speak—
Slash!
Shiryu's blade fell.
The head rolled.
—
Meanwhile, Enel's Observation Haki spread across the city.
No one could hide from him.
With a strike of his golden staff, he shattered rooftops and jars, exposing hidden samurai.
Lightning crackled.
With a cruel grin—
he electrocuted them all.
—
These people—
were all former retainers of the Kozuki clan.
The "inheritance" left behind by Kozuki Oden… for his son.
