Chapter 22 - The Light of Wisdom

The unseen will descended once more.

On the altar, an indescribable force enveloped Peter—and in the next instant, a cool, refreshing sensation bloomed within his mind.

He hadn't even had time to fully process it—

Yet the change was immediate.

His thoughts became sharper.

Faster.

Clearer.

Memories from early childhood—long buried—resurfaced effortlessly.

At the same time, all the academic knowledge he had once only half understood—

Formulas, theories, scientific principles—

Suddenly clicked.

Everything made sense.

And that was only the beginning.

The enhancement of his brain was just one part of the reward.

What followed—

Was overwhelming.

Knowledge.

Endless knowledge.

It poured into his mind like a tidal wave.

As if someone had taken an entire library—no—

An entire civilization's worth of information—

And forced it into his head.

Even after the portion used to enhance his intellect, the remaining wish power still translated into an immense volume of knowledge.

And not just in one field.

But across countless disciplines.

Biochemistry. Medical science.

Electrical engineering.

Information technology.

Material science.

Humanity's current level of science—

Had just been pushed forward by at least fifty years… inside Peter's mind.

Nuclear fusion.

Biological cloning.

Genetic medicine.

Advanced artificial intelligence.

High-density energy storage.

Anti-gravity levitation systems.

Technologies that belonged to the future—

Were now tools at his fingertips.

-----

After a long while—

Within the Lincoln Memorial, Peter slowly opened his eyes.

A sharp glint flashed within them.

And with it—

A new presence emerged.

If power gave a person courage—

Then wisdom gave them confidence.

More importantly—

This newfound intelligence didn't just enhance his mind.

It amplified his power as well.

Take flight, for example.

Peter had multiple ways of flying.

Before, he simply used them instinctively.

Now—

He could analyze them.

Optimize them.

Perfect them.

He immediately identified the most efficient method.

Then refined it.

The result?

His speed—

Doubled.

At least.

And the energy consumption?

Less than half of before.

Human aircraft had evolved constantly since their invention.

Aerodynamics.

Fluid mechanics.

All of it shaped their design.

Peter simply applied the same principles.

By altering the shape of the telekinetic barrier around his body—

Reducing drag—

Improving flow—

He achieved both higher speed and lower energy cost.

"Boom!"

A burst of light exploded in the distance.

Peter turned his gaze.

Toward the White House.

Raven had made her move.

Receiving the signal, Peter shot into the sky.

Telekinesis surged—

Propelling him forward at incredible speed through the darkness.

-----

Meanwhile—

In front of the White House plaza—

A monstrous figure roared.

Over two meters tall. Massive. His limbs thick as pillars.

And on his head—A strange, unmistakable helmet.

Red light flickered in his eyes.

Then—

He charged.

Like a human tank. Faster and faster.

His inhuman strength driving him forward—

Straight toward the White House.

"Boom!"

Another rocket slammed into him.

From the rooftop—Anti-air missiles fired directly at the approaching figure.

A hit like that—

Would obliterate steel.

Let alone flesh.

But when the smoke cleared—

The reason became obvious.

He stood there. Unharmed.

The ground beneath him had been blasted into a crater.

But he—

Hadn't even flinched.

"Damn it… what is that thing?!"

Inside a White House security office, the officer in charge stared in shock and fury.

"Sir, identification just came in," an agent reported urgently.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. confirms his identity."

"Cain Marko."

"Codename: Juggernaut."

"…He's Charles Xavier's brother."

Silence.

Everyone in the room froze.

"What?! Xavier's brother?!"

The officer sucked in a sharp breath.

He knew exactly what that meant.

Charles Xavier—

The world's most powerful telepath.

A man rumored to be capable of wiping out humanity in an instant.

A man who could enter any mind.

Control anyone.

Turn the entire world into his puppets.

And this—

Was his brother?

The officer looked back at the unstoppable figure preparing for another charge.

The White House had a few weapons stockpile—

But rocket launchers weren't exactly abundant.

Before 9/11, they hadn't even been standard equipment.

Because no one—

Had ever imagined someone could storm the capital like this.

And if something could break through the defenses of Washington D.C.—

A few rockets wouldn't stop it anyway.

"Damn it!"

"Evacuate the President immediately!"

"Use the underground passage—now!"
