Dark. Damp. A little… cheesy.
Our trio found themselves tied up with a suspiciously stretchy rope made from who-knows-what, suspended above a bubbling pot of thick yellow soup in the middle of a massive underground throne room that screamed rat aesthetic. Cracked pillars, discarded bones, questionable murals of cheese worship, and dozens of rats wearing bits of armor made from tin cans and broken mugs.
Liliana blinked slowly, hanging upside-down by her ankles.
"…Is this soup… cheddar-based?" she asked, genuinely curious.
"No, Lili," Kirian groaned. "Focus. We're about to be soup meat!"
"Well, that would make us the flavor. Not the soup," she said calmly.
"Not helping!" Emilia barked.
At the far end of the chamber, seated on a throne carved out of stacked cheese wheels, sat the Rat King. Over two meters tall, covered in matted gray fur with a crown made from cheese wedges and bones, he looked every bit the tyrant… if tyrants drooled and kept scratching their belly mid-monologue.
"Silence, pests!" the Rat King boomed, his voice echoing in the cavern. "You dare trespass upon the sacred halls of the Rodent Empire! You shall be judged!"
The rats around them cheered with squeaks and raised cutlery.
Kirian cleared his throat dramatically.
"If I may speak, noble Rat King," he said, puffing his chest. "I am Kirian Zennon! Descendant of heroes! And future savior of the world!"
The Rat King squinted. "Are you… a girl?"
Kirian's face turned red.
"No!"
Lili, still upside down, added, "He just looks like one."
"LILI!"
The Rat King ignored them and stood, raising a paw for silence. "Long ago… I too was a hero."
"Oh no…" Emilia muttered.
"I fought in the Great War of the Demon Lord. I was once known as Sir Cheddrick von Brie! A knight of valor! But… I was betrayed."
Lili raised her hand. "By a mouse?"
"No! By humans! My comrades left me behind in a cursed cavern of cheese! Slowly… the dairy consumed me! Transformed me!"
"…Into a rat?" Emilia asked.
"Into something… more. A king."
The rats cheered again. One blew into a horn that sounded like a squished potato.
"And now," the Rat King continued, "you shall become the secret ingredient to my eternal stew of vengeance!"
Kirian began struggling against his ropes. "I won't let you! I still haven't kissed a girl yet!"
Lili blinked. "You're twelve."
"THAT'S EXACTLY WHY!"
Just as the rat guards began pushing the soup cauldron closer to the trio…
A shadow dropped from the cavern ceiling.
SPLAT!
A boot landed in a perfect crouch on top of the Rat King's crown. Standing tall, her tail swishing like a proud banner, stood a woman in a maid uniform. But not just any maid.
A bodacious, curvaceous, dangerous-looking maid.
"WHO DARES—"
"Silence," she snapped. "You filthy rodents are interfering with my schedule."
The rats froze.
"WHO IS THIS COW?!" one screeched.
Camilla flipped her long hair over her shoulder and leapt down.
"I am Camilla. Personal maid of the Zennon household. I have tracked you brats down because—" she gave them a withering look, "—you skipped lunch."
Emilia blinked. "Wait, what? That's why you came?"
"Of course. I take my job seriously."
With a flick of her wrist, Camilla pulled out a silver tray. It gleamed with the light of judgement.
Rats charged.
SLAP! SLAP! KLANG!
The tray whirled like a divine disc of doom. Forks flew like shurikens. A mop twirled like a halberd. Rats flew left and right, squeaking in defeat.
The Rat King snarled. "You think cleaning supplies can stop me?!"
Camilla calmly reached into her apron… and pulled out a rolling pin.
The cavern went silent.
The rats backed away slowly. Even the Rat King hesitated.
"You wouldn't…" he muttered.
Camilla stepped forward.
"I would."
THWACK.
A flash. A crack. The sound of legends breaking. The Rat King toppled backwards into his own soup, legs in the air, crown sinking slowly.
Camilla dusted off her hands.
"Let's go, children. You're late for your vitamin supplements."
She cut them down like a pro, lifted all three under her arms like shopping bags, and leapt out of the cavern in a single bound.
Behind them, the rats lay in a stunned silence. One whispered, "Was she… always this hot?"
Another wept. "My cheese dreams are ruined…"
As they exited the tunnel and found themselves back in the open forest, Kirian sighed.
"That was… terrifying."
Lili nodded. "But the soup did smell nice."
Emilia leaned against a tree. "Next time, I'll pick a different adventure spot."
Camilla adjusted her uniform and gave them all a look.
"You are grounded."
The trio groaned in unison.
And so, another chaotic adventure ends, with trauma, soup, and a thicc maid saving the day. Somewhere in Kirian's pocket, a glowing spoon-shaped relic pulsed softly… a mystery for another time.
End of Episode 1.
