Then I saw something in front of my eyes, it was a screen, something you mostly see in games, there were words written on it which I read.

Reading that, I was baffled, but after confirming that screen by trying to sweep it with my hands, I confirmed that it is in my head, not in the air. It was something that only I could see, trying to find its origins, I asked, "What is it?"

I saw six quests displayed by the system screen, but none of them are as hard as killing some beast or winning a fight, so I think I can complete them easily. Let's complete the first quest.

This quest is very easy, as you just need to head out or ask someone about the surrounding places. As far as my memory serves, it has been very hectic as after running away from the city to save my life, I never headed in a particular direction, and this led me to my current location on the outskirts of the city.
I think I can complete it, as in front of me are nine children who are just like me, who ran away from the city, so they must have the information I need. As I was thinking this, the leader of that group woke up, and it was a girl around my age. Who is currently looking at me vigilantly?
Trying to strike up a conversation, I said, "Good morning! My name is Ryuk. May I know who you are? And how did you come to this place? Looking at you, I can confirm that you guys are not children of slums, so you must have come to the city."
Hearing this she shivered a bit, may be fearing that her secret is out, honestly these children don't have any good clothes and there is also mud speared on there faces but I can still confirm that they are from city, how because the way they talk, these children may have been smart to cover their outer appearance but the way they talk still give away their identity, I can't expect much from them as they are still young children.
So to make her feel safer around me, I said, "Don't worry about how I know that, I am also a child who ran away from the city after my family was destroyed, so I can easily confirm that you are like me, we are like comrades, so you can feel safe around me."
Then finally she said something, "I, I am Yuki, I am the leader of this group of children, we are nine children who ran away from city because just like you our families were also destroyed and to survive from enemies of our family we ran away, coming to your hut as a result, but don't worry last night was really cold so I asked for shelter from you, now that morning is arrived we will go away from your place."
She said all this while shivering; there is a fear in her voice as if fearing that I may hurt her. There are other things I also noticed. She is ill, from her shivering, I can confirm that she is in a fever, maybe some kind of cold.
Among all of these nine children, she is eldest all of rest are 5 or 6 years old, to think they have to run away while fearing death, I felt very bad, but this is the truth of this world, from my memories of 11 years I know in this world corruption and beasts run rampant, while martial power reigns supreme, and once you have a conflict with other human you must kill every member of that family, it is a norm among martial artist, because there are many incidents in history where once you leave even a toddler alive then he came back as top martial artist seeking revenge of his family, so they prefer to kill more rather than leaving a danger for future.
Now focusing back on the current, I looked at Yuki and other children all of them all still sleeping as they must have tired because of walking all day, looking at all of them I again felt the same feeling I felt every time I saw an orphan or a needy person, this feeling was always in me, even in my previous life I was the one who did most charity in my family that is the main reason most of the family servant looked at me with awe worshiping me as reincarnation of some saint. This feeling is still with me, and I can't suppress it; this was the same reason last night I invited all of these children into my small hut, so following my heart.
I looked at Yuki and said, "Don't worry, I will not let you guys go anywhere. From now on, you are going to live with me, and from now on, I will take responsibility for all of you."
