Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Boarding Party from Hell

"Sarge, the shields are at ten percent!" Elara screamed as a massive Golden Guard dreadnought slammed its prow into their side. The sound was like a mountain being crushed.

"Doc, Vance, Sully—you stay with the ship," Kane said, his dual axes merging into the Void-Cleaver. "Korgos! Get your boys ready! We're going outside!"

"Finally!" the Scavenger King laughed over the comms, his chain-sword revving like a dying beast.

Kane didn't wait for a boarding tube. He stepped into the airlock, and as the doors hissed open to the vacuum of space, he didn't suffocate. He consumed the vacuum. A sphere of black energy formed around him, a personal bubble of the Void.

He launched.

The God-Feeder's Walk

Kane hit the hull of the enemy Golden Guard ship like a meteor. He didn't use a skill. He just swung.

SHING—

The Void-Cleaver cut through three feet of reinforced gold-alloy like it was warm butter. Kane reached into the hole and grabbed a handful of pulsing power-cables.

[TECH-VORE ACTIVATED] [DRAINING SYSTEM... INTEGRATING GALAXY-LEVEL MANA...] [VITALITY: 100% / MANA: OVERFLOWING]

He wasn't just fighting; he was refueling. As he drained the ship, its lights flickered and died. Ten thousand Consortium soldiers inside the enemy vessel suddenly found themselves in a cold, dark tomb as their life-support failed.

Kane looked up at the Dyson-Ring. It was close now. Close enough to see the massive conduits that fed the entire empire.

"Sully!" Kane's voice echoed through the mental link. "I'm on the lead dreadnought. I'm going to shove this ship directly into the Ring's main intake. When I hit it, you open the Mercy's mouth and DRINK."

"Sarge, the feedback will kill you!" Sully cried.

"I'm a God-Feeder, Sully," Kane said, his eyes turning into twin black holes. "I was born for the feedback."
