Chapter 3 - CHAPTER FORTY

Chapter Forty

The Final Move

The warning from Kang Daeho did not fade from Yuna's mind, but she refused to allow it to distract her.

Two weeks remained before the Paris Fashion Showcase, where Lumière Atelier would present its newest collection to international buyers, designers, and media.

This show mattered more than ever.

If it succeeded, the rumors and scandals would collapse under the weight of global recognition.

If it failed, Chairman Han would win.

Inside the atelier, the atmosphere buzzed with intensity. Designers stitched late into the night while stylists prepared models and finalized every detail.

Hana rushed through the studio carrying a folder.

"Yuna!"

Yuna looked up from the design table.

"What happened?"

Hana stopped in front of her.

"Chairman Han just made a major move."

Yuna's expression sharpened.

"What kind of move?"

"He convinced two international investors to withdraw their sponsorship from the Paris show."

Yuna frowned slightly.

"That's inconvenient."

Hana blinked.

"Inconvenient? That's a disaster!"

But Yuna shook her head calmly.

"No."

She looked at the gowns surrounding them.

"It's desperation."

Chapter Forty-One

A Son's Defiance

Meanwhile, Jihoon stood inside his father's office.

The atmosphere between them was colder than ever.

Kang Daeho sat behind his desk, reading a report.

"You ignored my advice."

Jihoon remained standing.

"Yes."

Daeho closed the file slowly.

"You continue to defend Seo Yuna publicly."

"Yes."

"You are risking your political career."

Jihoon met his father's gaze.

"Maybe the problem is that I never chose that career for myself."

Daeho's eyes narrowed.

"Everything you have came from this family."

"I know."

"And you are willing to throw it away for a woman?"

Jihoon hesitated for a moment.

Then he answered calmly.

"I'm willing to fight for something I actually believe in."

The room fell silent.

Daeho leaned back in his chair.

"You're making a mistake."

Jihoon shook his head.

"No."

He turned toward the door.

"I'm making my own decision."

For the first time in his life—

he walked away from his father's authority.
