"You're awake," the man said.

The woman stepped closer.
"What do you remember?" she asked.

"The Core," he said.

He stopped.
Something was missing.
"And?" the man asked.
Kay frowned.
"I don't know."
The woman and the man exchanged a look.
"Check the city," the man said.
They moved outside.
The streets looked the same at first.
Buildings. Cars. People.
But then—

People were stopping.
Looking around.
Talking.
Real reactions.
Kay watched carefully.
A man laughed.
Another one argued.
Someone was crying.
Real emotions.
Kay understood.
"The system…"
"It's unstable," the woman said.
"You didn't destroy it."
The man continued:
"But you broke its control."
Kay nodded slowly.
"So people are getting their memories back."
"Not all," the woman said.
"But enough."
Kay looked at the city again.
