"There are too many of them," she whispered.
Hans remained near the center of the chamber.
"Too many what?"
Kimmy's lips parted, but no answer came immediately.
The faint pink beneath her blindfold spread farther along its edges. It remained weak enough that Hans could still mistake it for reflected light, though nothing inside the chamber produced that color.
Yunera moved in front of her.
"Kimmy."
"I can hear you."
"Then listen to me. We are going back."
Kimmy shook her head.
"No. Wait."
Hans raised one hand.
"Everyone hold."
Johannes stopped before approaching the remains. The two DASFs beside him shifted their attention away from the ruined body and toward Kimmy. The Engineer kept his inspection drone above the water but recalled it closer to the chamber entrance.
Specter Squad remained spread around them.
