After the Incident
A voice echoed through the room.
"How dare you?"
Nyxara lowered her head slightly but did not flinch.
"But he broke the rules. I had to kill him."
The voice responded coldly:
"And does it look like I care?"
Nyxara clenched her fists.
"Why don't you love me? You always loved Atheris…"
The voice paused briefly before replying.
"Because he is special. I created both of you equally—without giving more power or energy to either of you. Yet Atheris went beyond what I expected… that is why I favored him."
Nyxara looked down.
"I see… so what are you going to do now?"
"I will look for someone stronger to fight. You are too weak."
The words hit hard.
Then the voice added:
"Also, Nyxara… did you feel a huge pressure the moment you killed Atheris?"
Nyxara frowned slightly.
"Yes, Master. Only for a second… but it drained a large amount of my energy. For the first time."
A brief silence followed.
"You may leave."
Nyxara turned and walked out of the room.
15 YEARS LATER…
"Mooooom!!!"
"My results are out!"
Xavier rushed out of his room and ran into the kitchen.
"Mom, look at my results!"
He handed his phone to his mom. Thrynn smiled as she checked it.
"That's my boy. I'll cook your favorite soon—just wait a bit."
"Okay, Mom!"
Xavier ran out of the kitchen, then quickly came back and peeked in.
"My friends are coming today too."
"How many?" she asked.
"Just two."
"Alright, no problem. Let them stay in your room when they arrive."
"Okay, Mom. Thank you!"
Xavier returned to his room, picked up his phone, and dialed a number.
"You guys can come now. My mom agreed."
"Alright bro, we're coming."
A few minutes later…
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Xavier ran to the door and opened it.
"Xup, Jason."
"Xup… Layla."
Jason and Layla walked in, looking around.
"Let's go to my room," Xavier said. "My mom will bring something for us to eat."
They entered his room.
"So, have you guys checked your results?" Xavier asked.
Layla replied confidently:
"Yeah. I got straight A's actually. That exam was pretty easy."
Jason nodded.
"I got 5 A's and 5 B's."
Xavier smiled.
"Nice. I also got straight A's."
He stretched a bit.
"So… what should we do?"
Jason suddenly remembered something.
"Bro, have you heard about that crazy stuff that happened here in New York?"
Xavier raised a brow.
"Hmm? What is it?"
Jason leaned in slightly.
"They said a god appeared on Earth… but the video got wiped from the internet."
Xavier's eyes lit up.
"Why?"
He grinned.
"You know I love conspiracy stuff."
Layla rolled her eyes.
"Forget that. Let's play your game—I'm literally bored."
Xavier smirked.
"Hmm… if I win, you'll say yes to whatever I ask."
Layla crossed her arms.
"Game on."
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Xavier walked to the door, collected the tray from his mom, and smiled.
"Thanks, Mom."
Thrynn smiled warmly.
"Be good, kids."
To be continued…
